The journey to the Guild Hall was long, arduous, and not without its drawbacks. Though it had been eight years since her departure from the port of Mandrale all the way through the Dead Lands, the swampy, foggy marshes and mires, Jocelyn could still recall the damned and accursed pilgrimage as though it were merely yesterday. A rather grim sigh worked its way through her smog dusted lungs, along with a bit of a short cough, her nerves frazzling as she wondered if she did indeed catch the Dying cough of Hieledran. No, of course not. Maybe when she was but a lass in that dull orphanage she caught a taste of it, but as for the full brunt, she had to have been immune to it by now. Merely, Jocelyn shrugged it off, making her way out the door of her quarters and through the stone hallway of the bristling castle.

She stepped out into the sunlight, her black clothes already absorbing the heat emanating off its harsh rays and the intense light of the morning star rising coercing her to squint her eyes until fully they were adjusted to the sudden change in brightness, narrowing once more as a bitter scowl crossed her lips under her bandanna, all while she made her way across the fortress rampart and down into the main atrium of Fairy Tail.

"Afternoon all." She greeted no one in particular, the older woman, sauntering over to the mission board and standing viewing it with eyes squinted and arms crossed, before a monotonous sigh passed her lips, "Mmmm....none of these sound enticing honestly." She mused aloud tapping her foot. "I suppose they will suffice for monetary gain however. I'll choose...this one." Her finger, frail and slender, tapped upon the note that said, "GET RID OF GHOSTS."

Why not? It was her specialty after all.

Nearby, she had noticed a peculiar sight that brought a glint to her emerald eyes, eyes that seemed to shine even beneath the dark of her hood.

"You must be a long way from home, stranger." Jocelyn approached the boy, seeming no older than nineteen. An aura she could sense from him, dark yet with some hint of benevolence, not what she usually expected from shadow wielders such as he. "New to the guild are we?"

@RaeoftheLightMoesha and her tentacle near the sturdy church where all the citizens have barred themseves in. Just a little to the left is a circle of burly men laying sprawled out and injured on the floor, presumably the drunkard from the inn's friends.
It looked as Moesha wouldn't cut through the band in time but in the last seconds it snapped apart and the tendril fell.

Azerus was suddenly there ready to catch her should she need it, the tentacles he was battling lifeless on the floor.

"what now?" he asks her as he looks around at the carnage then settles his eyes on the church.

With the sudden snapping of the band and subsequent falling of the monster, Moeasha wobbled and jumped, almost slipping onto her face but quickly grabbing onto Azerus to balance herself.

"Sorry," Moeasha told him, then she looked at the wreckage of the town and the lifeless tentacles. "We may not have solved the problem, correct? Something was controlling these things." Sighing, Moeasha swayed where she stood, the battle and all the energy she had exerted catching up to her. She yawned, blinking lethargically, "We should assist the people, and then rest. That is a good plan." She looked to her guildmate for his opinion.

@RaeoftheLight"No!" Azerus replied flat and coldly.
A few brave townsfolk peered out around the doors as they creaked open.
Sadness and horror filled their eyes, it quickly turned to rage as they spotted Moeasha and Azerus.
Others followed and soon they were looking like an angry mob.

Azerus lips grew into a wicked smile.
"I don't believe this is over, it's gone and they know it's safe for now but I'm guessing it will be back... And that we're not welcome."

Azerus snaps up Moeasha's hand in his as he darts towards the sea, weaving through the carnage as townsfolk begin shouting and chasing. He tries to explain himself along the way.

"It attacked the light, so they are close enough to see the town but not it's details. I want to follow it's tail! Have you got magic that will let us do that!?" He shouted with an eager excitement as they raced along.

As soon as they drew nearer the water, Moeasha dug her heels in the stop them from getting any closer.
"STOP!" Moeasha jerked her hand free and glared at Azerus. "I can make it so you can breath under the water, but I am tired. Manipulating that much water is very difficult, Azerus. I can barely move a drop of water, let alone keep your breath safe from it."

@RaeoftheLight Azerus's halts and snaps his head back to Moeasha. His brow furrows in disappointment. "Can we at least run on top of it?"
His eyes dart back up to the town where the unruly mob is gathering and coming from.
Without waiting for an answer Azerus strips off his shirt and begins racing down the jetty.
"C'mon then we swim!" he shouts, his voice filled with agitation. His eyes trail the vines beneath the water as he runs alongside them while nearing the end of the jetty.

Mia walks into the guild in slow, small steps. Unsure of what she should do, she looked around for someone to talk to.

"Afternoon all."

Hearing the voice, Mia turned towards it and saw the woman walk towards the mission board.

"Maybe I'll talk to her..." She thought to herself. Making up her mind, she walked over.

"H-Hello!" Mia gulped, "I'm new here, my name is Mia, n-nice to meet you...!"

Not sure if he can trust anyone in here ,he asks "So what is this place?".After he says that he sees a board with a bunch of jobs on it. As he sees the board he realizes that this is a guild, but which one?Is he here?Did he die and go to purgatory for some other necromancer to raise him as an undead soldier? These are all the questions he had know the answers to.

Charles looked at three people who just arrived and shakes his head "this place gets bit to lively." He states and heads over to the job board for any research missions, they was closer to his speciality more than others. After all his power relied on his research of his beasts and other tools. Mostly ignoring any spetical as to not get drawn into it. He notices the demon flute mission and grabs it. he turns to the others. "Need some partners atlest 2" he states outloud.

Mia turned around and faced Charles. "I'm new at magic but if you don't mind I'd like to go!" She enthusiastically exclaims. "B-But I'm not so good at using my magic..so...I might just be a burden."

Lance had been eating a heavy meal in the guild hall when Charles shouted he needed two people for a mission. "I'll join you" Lance said with a mouthful of food, the words didn't Come out the way he wanted too, it sounded like he was mumbling. Lance then downed the food in his mouth with a large cup of apple juice. "I'll join you on the mission" lance said reiterating hiself. He cleaned his plate then walked over to Charles, "so what kind of Mission is it Charles?" Lance said smirking.

She turned to the two raising an eyebrow, a peculiar young lad in a bizarre theatre mask and a petite young lass in a dingy sweater with hay colored hair. A soft smile had christened her lips beneath the veil of her macabre bandana as she greeted them in a whisper, "Hmm, you must be new as well. Welcome to Fairy Tail, one of the most prominent mage guilds in the country. I am Jocelyn. Tis a pleasure to meet all of you." A curtsy of her billowing black gown exhibiting her more elegant and refined nature, she bid them welcome.

The newcomers were few and sparse in between, but that was only during the years where the Guild was more or less an obscurity. Now that it has been gaining popularity, more and more young witches, wizards, and warlocks have flocked to its doorstep, searching for many things, many motives they had, either seeking riches, fame, adventure, or...just a safe haven from a world having gone terribly wrong.

She had a hunch her first mission she would embark upon for the day would be relatively simple, but seeing as there were new inductees to the Guild, why not take them out and see if they could...earn their stripes, so to speak. But before the notion could pass her lips, Charles, the spry fellow, had already beaten her to the punch. "Ah Charles. Good day to you. I was just about to ask the same of these new ones, but as always an opportunity missed when you're around." Under her bandana she smirked teasingly. "I suppose if Mia will accompany you on your endeavor, then I will take these two with me to settle that ghostly matter. Besides..." She paused turning to the two of them, a glint in her eye. "No harm in having another necromancer accompany me to a place where the dead stir restless. The shadow wielder's skill will be greatly appreciated too."

Another unmistakable aura, this one emanating rather radiant from the masked boy, the accompanying scent of graveyard soil and bone meal looming upon him. He was a fellow practitioner of the dead arts, no doubt.

Moeasha watches Azerus with frustration in her eyes.

"You can swim all you want!" She shouts at him. "But count me out of it!" With that Moeasha wraps her cloak tightly around herself, placing the hood over her hair, and begins heading back to the town proper, and the inn. She purchased a room and she planned on using it.

As she walked she looked around sadly at all the destruction they were not able to save the town from. So far it looked like once again her reward money would go to rebuilding other's homes instead of going towards Moeasha's savings. At this rate she'd never be able to afford the spell she needed. Her horoscope was a lie. With shoulders sagging in exhaustion and sadness , Moeasha arrived at the inn.

Charles would turn to Mia and pat her head "this will be good experience for you then" he says "just try to stay next to me or Lance and it should be safe" he states then looks to Lance "A recovery mission, probably tons of action" he states "gotta find a demon flute" he states "you two can have the money reward, this is a research mission primarily for me" he states.

Charles then turns to the third voice seeing it to be Jocelyn he'd grin and chuckle, "Well you can't beat the 'King'" he states to her as a little joke. Then turns back to the other two "if you two are going to indeed join me, get any supplies you require or believe you need and meet in one hour"

@RaeoftheLight Azerus stopped swimming and floated in one spot, the night sky glistened on his wet skin as he was engulfed in the shimmering moonlight that danced around him, playing in the gentle waves beneath the deep dark cold starry filled night sky.
He watched on with a deniable feeling of disappointment as Moeasha headed off in the opposite direction away from him. Leaving him. Abandoning him. 'Better now then later.' He thought to himself as he took a deep breath and retreated beneath an oncoming wave to search below the ocean surface.

Despite her lack of people skills, Moeasha could tell that the townsfolk were angry. And that their anger was being directed at her. The Innkeep, upon seeing her, began shouting and cursing, telling Moeasha she was no longer welcome in his establishment and that she was the cause of all the destruction. No matter how much Moeasha insisted that wasn't true, he wouldn't hear of it and soon a small gathering of the villagers were joining in on the shouting. With no other choice, Moeasha ran back to the shore.

Fine, I won't waste a coin on them, she thought to herself, then noticed a small boat that was still intact, somehow it had escaped the tendrils rampage. Well, if they won't give me a bed to sleep in after I paid for it, I will take their boat as compensation! Moeasha pushed the boat out to sea, climbing aboard and beginning to use the oar to find Azerus.

"Azerus!!!" Moeasha shouted, trying to spot him among the rolling waves in the night. Trying to conserve her magical energy, Moeasha decided to continue using the wooden oar as she drifted farther from the shore.

Lance smirked at the young girl, "I was about your age, maybe a year older when I first began practicing my magic" Lance said. He then scratched his chin, "demon flute huh, sounds like it will be a tough mission" Lance then smirked. He hadn't been on a tough mission in a while, just thinking about the challenge gets him pumped. "Well I'll be back guys" Lance said leaving the guild hall, he runs over to his small apartment grabbing his travel sack full of supplies he would need. He then exited his house and made his way back to the guild hall making sure he was early.

Jocelyn snickered slipping down her bandanna, just so her lips could be seen curling into a cheeky and mischievous smirk. Charles, always the one to make jests. "Tread lightly O Fair King. We wouldn't want you to stumble and lose your crown." But even so Jocelyn could return the jests with equal charm.

Awaiting the replies of the others, she happened to notice Lance approaching them. The boy, always to Jocelyn so...uncouth. Not that she despised him, no. She just found his table manners...questionable. Her smirk slowly receded into a displeased glower to the boy as he spoke with wobbling jowls packed full of food, not the most pleasant of views for the woman. "Ah...a pleasure to see you as well dear Lance. Do be so kindest next time to swallow whatever is in your mouth before speaking." Just a courtesy to remind him, but then again her tone was a slender crass. Once he downed the food with a gulp of apple juice, she gave an affirming nod. To be around such...children, not that she minded it, but it did have its annoyances at some points.

Beneath the waves a small glow of light could be seen trailing alongside a long wide shadow. Eventually the light grew brighter as it surfaced and Azerus popped up alongside the boat.
He showed no gratitude for her presence and didn't give a second to acknowledge that she chose to leave him, instead getting straight to the point.
"It goes in a straight line that way." he points to a small obscuring cloud of mist sitting on the waters surface in the near distance.
"I think what ever caused this thing is hidden just beyond that fog."

Azerus then struggles to pull himself into the little rocking rowboat.
Ignoring the oars he sits at the front bow and eagerly peers at their destination, filled with curiosity and wonder. He gives a little shiver as goosebumps line his skin.

White knuckling the edges of the boat as it rocked upon Azerus' arrival, Moeasha took in a deep breath to calm herself. She gripped the oars back in her hands and began to row where Azerus had pointed.

"I may be able to lift the fog, if it is natural. If it is the result of a spell, I will have no hold on it." Moeasha informed her guildmate. "Also, I am not combat ready. My only help in a fight is using my magics, and I am not currently at full strength."

She looked down at the water as they moved, then back to the shore that was looking so far away now. Moeasha wondered if helping the townsfolk was even worth it at this point, as the humans didn't seem to appreciate the two magicians' efforts.
