I'm working on a character or two if joining is still a good idea

Finished the Quaela. It's at the bottom of Amam's CS.

So I was just curious as to when this was going to officially start, because it seems like we have a lot of characters.

That sounds good, Dal can be so happy there, with Poppy constantly changing decorations.

A pub would be really fun and boost the possibility to socially interact. I could imagine Vaughtar to go there regularly. Don't wanna let him run entirely on some mysterious and more or less inexhaustible magic energy source - and if he makes an attempt to get himself stuffed or even drunk it'll most likely be a feast XD

@Tombprince It's a magic pub that deters most mortals from finding/entering it but he sounds like such a chill guy so I guess Gideon can make an exception.

I'm going to be posting a completely updated char sheet for Gideon along with the two other characters and a description of the pub soon.

@BurningCold Now hang on a minute - I'm not trying to spike your guns, but I'm not sure I want anyone running the pub as I'd like it to be a completely neutral space run by NPCs. if you're really desperate to do this, can you PM me about it discussing your ideas please?

Probably a bit irrelevant now, but here's my earlier thoughts about Gideon's last character sheet: I'd like some sort of limit placed on his shapechanging powers (either a time limit or a size limit, because unless I'm missing something he could conceivably become King Kong or Godzilla or Boris Johnson at the moment - he may have no desire to, but he could). Maybe the bigger the creature is the less time he can hold the shape? I'm a little reluctant to allow his fire power as it is as well, but let it stand - anyone who spends a lot of time with him probably knows enough to keep a bucket of either water or sand nearby.

Also, bear in mind that the supernatural community is interested in keeping its existence a secret - if Gideon goes on a killing spree or does anything else to bring the humans attention down on them, he will probably have several very powerful non-humans turning up to have 'a quiet word' with him.

I'm not trying to spoil anyone's fun, just pointing out what might happen!

@shaitarn Okay let me respond to your points in order.
Pub: Not a problem, I'll just be re-re-re-editing my character sheets, unless there can be more than one pub?

Shapechanging: I sort of just left the whole "can shapechange into something larger than a dog" thing the way I did in the event that someone stronger attempts to pick a fight, but I have no problem with putting a limiter in place. Also, Godzilla and the likes aren't REAL animals, so Gideon couldn't shift into them :p

Fire ability: I put this in for the same reason I didn't put a limiter on the shapechanging ability. Gideon's entire character wouldn't make any sense if he wasn't able to defend himself when people got pissed. Hence, he would have no desire to cause trouble if people just beat the shit out of him every time he did something bad.

Killing Spree: Gideon only kills if he runs the risk of getting discovered. Besides, if he can shapechange into another human he can easily implicate that human because whatever murder weapon he would use would have THAT human's fingerprints. His abilities are specifically geared towards NOT endangering the supernatural community with his actions. Or else, again, he'd have no reason to act the way he did. Someone like Gideon doesn't cause trouble with the intent of getting caught.

@shaitarn@BurningCold With Ben the adorable homeless drunk, I would have just had turning up no more than once a week, probably a lot less with the price of alcohol in pubs, and only in the nuetral pub. After all, who is going to believe a total alcoholic.

I have a thought on Phil, Steffan's other NPC. I was going to make him covered to itches and bite marks, or at least nigh on constantly with some small cut or other on him. Maybe even to the point of falling into the wrong crowds a few times by those who (for whatever reasons) hate the homless. As a small tie in, did Adam Hanley need a walking blood bank? @yoyohayli Or would he turn his nose up at poor quality food?

A walking blood bank would probably be useful to Adam for when he can't find other prey. Especially with murders of supernaturals happening, it would be more beneficial to lessen the time he needs to spend hunting. At least for his own self-preservation.

@Athinar I don't know. I didn't realize there was an "outside" group. I thought it was a gathering place, but if it's a permanent living place, Adam would most definitely want to live there because it fits to his self-important taste. If it gives him extra protection, he'd definitely be in on the action.

@Tombprince Backstory could be fairly simple. Adam came across Steffan one night, planning to feed and ditch because he assumed he was drugged up and would have no memory of the event. When he realized Steffan seemed to be schizophrenic, Adam found it amusing and coerced him into coming along with him. Perhaps Steffan agreed because the pain of being bitten provides temporary grounding to visible reality?

@yoyohayli Would Adam have actually taken a life in feeding or by any other method? If he fed and killed, chances are that a spirit would linger and Steffan would probably have a heads unless that spirit was particularily evil and vindictive. Just an idea but happy to go your idea. Either way, for Adam, I was planning to interact with Adam as a "walking" spirit, a little more visible than he's used too (dead is dead after all XD)

@AthinarWas pretty much going to play the inactions the same with Amam.

@Tombprince Yeah, Adam's definitely killed, especially when he was first turned. Occasionally, he still does, but he's been more mindful since the discovery of forensics. Can Steffan feel the touch of spirits? Because that should be a clue to him when he gets fed from that Adam is not a normal spirit.

@Athinar Okay, then I guess Adam lives in the Quaela! Probably in a fancy coffin because he likes the drama.
