/me rode along in the night, orbs glaring forward intensly as Jack attempted to focus. The headlights helped, but even with the streams of light he still needed to be cautious. The road was very rough to drive with the constant curves and paths. The Hudson river followed directly beside, offering almost a guiding sense of relief as he made his way to his home. A small town, just a few miles now.... He had been in the city, doing news coverage on a highly anticipated show. The show came to a hault when protesters quickly stormed the scene, followed by the police with their riot shields and batons. Jack came from a family of paranoid Americans, tough to the bone and always warning him that this day would come... Jack didn't doubt it. When the second amendment was removed from the constitution that was when it was the beginning of this sad end... Once they got away with that, they began to rewrite the constitution with obsurd media painted reasonings. Jack had to find his family... Reaching for his phone he quickly found his wifes name, waiting for her voice to come out over the speaker from the bluetooth connection to his phone.
"Babe? Hello?" The phone had been picked up, but it was loud on the other end. A frantic wife was heard on the other end.
"Jack? Oh my fucking god, thank goodness... Where the fuck are you? we saw the Television!"
Jack looked into his rearview mirror for a moment, two headlights could be seen in the distance, but quickly approaching. "I'm almost home, darling... Do me a favor? Lock the doors, and go into the basement. Do not open the door unless you are positive it is me... Got it?" Her voice would begin to question before he hung up, adjusting himself as he once again glanced in the mirror. The truck was now very close, he could almost make out the two faces sitting inside. Jack didn't want to draw attention, so instead he continued at the same speed. When the truck began to move around him, he managed to get a good look inside at the men. Jack would not have been concerned yet had they not been wearing masks, and when his vehicle was suddenly hit with the weight of the truck...? Well, you could say he was alarmed.
