I will never get why so many female characters in Japanime talk in such shrill, screechy voices.
I remember watching Death Note, which had super solid voicework, all except for that fucking one Miss Misa or whatever the fuck her name is. The child shrieks like a fruit bat.
I concur! However there is a scene early on when they are tracking Misa, and they look at her finger prints, or at least lift them, and someone says, it is a child or a small woman's (I think it might have been L, or Matt/Mello when they're surveying her; can't remember for the life of me.), so initially, I think that's why they had her voice.
I guess they don't want husky voiced women as actors? I'd like to be a voice actor, but as a woman that sings baritone, and speaks low and softly, it would be relatively hard for me to find any roles suitable to how I speak, considering the popularity of high-squeaky voices for women.
I was going to say, Winry from FMA didn't have a squeaky voice, then I remembered her yelling at Ed, which takes it out of the case. Although, there were some very good voice actors for the women there. Whoever played Ed's teacher? And Lust/Sloth. But then again, they were full grown women.
@Dervish Did we decide what would happen to Sevine and Do'Karth? Another collab, or do they go their own separate ways?
