‘May You Never Yield, May You Never Fail.’
Its a name that has always been associated with bravery, heroics, and serving for the greater good. Men and women, from those possessing the mightiest of powers, to even the most humble and skilled. All have come and gone over the many years, seeking the kind of glory that only comes with joining such an elite team.
That team? The Avengers.

Created as a response to the growing panic over countless threats like Hydra, mutants and by association The Brotherhood, and many others. Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division, or SHIELD for short. Created what was then called The Avengers Initiative. Led by the recently unfrozen World War II hero Captain America, the team has been a symbol of hope in all the madness in the world. Providing not just defense for serious dangers against the world, but aid to those in need as well.
Many have come and gone from the ranks of The Avengers, either voluntarily or from unfortunate circumstances. The two biggest constants of the team though have been Steve Rogers and Tony Stark, respectably Captain America and Iron Man. However even with his peek physical skills Steve finally decided to slow down. Shocking the world when he announced he was stepping down effective immediately as leader of The Avengers. What shocked everyone even more was what Steve Rogers had decided to do with his newfound free time.
Even as a man from the past, Steve always wanted to look ahead. The next new recruits that would lead The Avengers into the next century and beyond. To that end he brought up an idea to Nick Fury that would eventually lead to the creation of Avengers Academy. A private academy that would bring in great young heroes to be. Teach them everything important, and train them in handling their powers and combat scenarios.
The Academy would be a prime target for enemies though. So Nick Fury had it be commissioned to be on the top of a specially made helicarrier. Which ensured a perfectly safe environment that keeps outside distractions to a minimum. The academy however features many amenities for staff and students alike. Not only a state of the art training area that doubles as an athletic arena for basketball, football, soccer, baseball, and even ice hockey. A pair of Olympic sized swimming pools. Plus there is a student lounge filled with video games, pool and air hockey tables, and some of the most comfy couches you will ever rest your rear end on.
While some of the teachers and faculty staff consist of either paid normal teachers or medical personal. A majority of the staff either hails from SHIELD or are former Avengers in their own right. Hank Pym, formerly the original Ant-Man, runs the science labs and program at Avengers Academy as an example.
This year promises to be Avengers Academy’s most interesting year yet, as students are arriving in from around the world to either continue studies or are new. None are aware yet of the crazy year ahead.
Rules/world guidelines:
- The school is high school/college aged stuff, 14 year olds going up to 21 year olds.
- There is a dress code for classes and training but its fairly loose. Going on shirts, polos, button ups, even hoodies, each with the Avengers Academy logo on it and a flag on the left sleeve representing the student’s country of origin. Outside of classes students can wear whatever they want barring anything considered offensive. When it comes to costumes students can bring in their own (typically not as high quality as it can be) or a small team of seamstresses can measure you out for one after your first year of classes.
- The two dorms on campus are divided by gender, with two to a room. Usually paired randomly though if the students agree to it, are allowed to switch rooms to stay with friends.
- Since the basis for this was inspired by the ios Avengers Academy game I am going to allow for the usage of canon characters. Though I'm only keeping it to Young Avenger members, after that its more aiming for OCs. When it comes to canon characters changing backstory is fine and other small details. But keep what makes them who they are intact. For OCs please don't just rip off another Marvel or DC hero. I will accept legacy characters (son/daughter of two Marvel heroes) but they will be judged harder, canon hero profile sheets too, compared to OC sheets.
