Is it cool if I drop a CS? I asked a little while back but college workload and animal-related ranch accidents happened, so... Yeah. Figured I'd ask in case the addition of a new member right now would be poor timing with the story and all that.
Hi, you still accepting new chars?
@rocketrobie2 I'd be keen to see 4. I'm also still here, I just wasn't sure if I was posting too much as GM. But if people are cool with that, I can keep up the level I had before I went to Australia?

@AccursedBiscuit,@Azazaa,@Darcs,@knighthawk,@rocketrobie2 and @Lucius Cypher, sorry about hold ups. Is everyone still here?

"Checkmate." Sky stated unceremoniously as she pushed the device back over to Zack before opening her book and picking up where she had left off.

Wincing, the man closed the device and stood, turning to address the newcomers and their consistent question. "China," he said, walking around the table, "Has suddenly lit up, both metaphorically and literally. Increased light pollution has been observed from orbit and a series of radiation spike have been observed in localised areas. Nothing to suggest mini-nuk use of course, the spikes are too constant, too sustained. They're the the kind of spikes we'd expect to see from newly constructed Fusion Cores."

He paused, standing behind Shin-mu. "Which of course means that China has figured out how to build what the Brotherhood currently lacks, something which had previously only been achieved by the Institute." He said, looking pointedly at X8-11, "A group who, I might add, would never store all their eggs in one basket. Or in this case, all of their members, technologies, holding cells and reset codes in one facility. Unfortunately, not all of these... Institute Cells can be easily accessed, nor do they contain the necessary technologies or qualified individuals needed to create Fusion Cores, which is why we will be travelling to China, by sea, in order to retrieve the data and materials required to construct our own Cores, preferably before the Brotherhood completes their own research and returns to the Commonwealth."

"The medical unit will not be necessary but is welcome, nevertheless." Shin-mu stated calmly, referring but never looking directly towards Curie. "As is every new volunteer." She said, addressing both Dali and the newly arrived Bruce who stood in the doorway amongst the others.
Hey guys, got off the plane yesterday and just settling it. I'll have a GM post up in about a day or so.

"Check." Sky said calmly, turning the screen back to Zack before looking levelly between the Courser and Joe. "The operation is scientific recovery and advancement. The pay is, quite honestly, whatever you want it to be, within reason. As for what we are "good for", that depends. In this instance we're good for payment, transportation, information, education, ammunition and a multitude of other forms of reimbursement. However," Sky looked at X8-11, "We will not give you Synths. Any Synth that travels with or approaches us peacefully is not to be harmed." She then turned to look at Joe, "Likewise with innocents, ghouls, super mutants, Institute remnants or even Brotherhood members who offer their assistance. If you have a problem with that, then leave now." Her blue eyes turned icy, as if she had a great deal of experience with life in the wasteland, and not all of it necessarily positive. Her voice became harder. Not threatening, but with a savage honesty that could not be ignored.

"But if you change you mind on the way there, we'll kill you and dump the body. If we get there and you change you mind, we'll either kill you or leave you there, and believe me, where we're going, we're you only hope of getting back. We will not have this operation threatened by anyone's bigotry or lack of self control." She then looked back towards the screen that Zack had returned to face her once more and began to contemplate her next move, as if the conversation had never occurred.

"Yes, a little crude but true." Zack chimed in, taking a sip from his water bottle. "Ah! Looks like we have another volunteer!" He said, looking to the statue where Dali and Curie where approaching from, "Well, in that case I'm certain she'll have questions of her own! But if you really must know so you can decide whether to leave or remain, our destination is China." He revealed, calmly, turning to face Joe, "So if we weren't good for it, I sincerely doubt you be able to travel the several thousand miles to retrieve your potential loot anyway, let alone locate our valuables." He turned back to his water, "Now if you would be so kind as to keep the destination to yourselves? I'm looking forward to the individual reactions of each volunteer as they arrive."
@Azazaa

Sky stopped briefly to look at her Pip-Boy as the Courser addressed them.

"Zack's right, he's a HK type. Seems like he's more of a killer than a retriever. Looks like he scored higher than most other Courser's do for smarts too. The Institute usually likes their units as compliant and unquestioning as possible."

Turning back to the device, Zack rotated the contraption around to face him and began to contemplate his own move, turning away from X8-11. "Probably just curious then, otherwise we'd have a lot more Courser's knocking at our door." He smiled slightly as he clicked, moving a pawn a single space forward before turning the screen back towards Sky. "Things must be incredibly dull since the Institute fell for you to have come here following a radio broadcast."

@AccursedBiscuit

It was at that moment that Joe appeared in the doorway behind the Synth, asking about pay. Zack turned to look the man up and down before looking over to Sky who, without taking her eyes off the screen, just shrugged.

"Merc, probably." She said. "Definitely human, even you should be able to tell."

Zack nodded before turning to the newcomer. "You can keep whatever you find." He answered calmly, "And you won't find a better deal than that. I can almost guarantee you that you'll be the only one selling what you find by the time we get back. Otherwise, we have no idea what kind of currency they'll be using there. I suppose we can agree on a base cap fee though if you want some sort of financial security. Shin-mu, what do you suggest?"

The slender oriental woman remained silent for a moment before responding, still looking out over the ocean. "We will be willing to pay 10,000 caps, half now and half upon return, otherwise we will be willing to pay a minimum of a single gold bar upon return. The choice is theirs. Ammunition will be provided upon request but apparel and armor is their responsibility."

Zack nodded. "Sound good?"

@Darcs

As Dali approached, the red-haired woman kept her sights trained on the girl and her robot. At first she switched between the two before settling on the hovering, white robot. She remained like that for several moments before lowering the weapon.

"It'll do." The woman stated, curtly. Her voice was surprisingly feminine despite her imposing appearance, but she also somehow sounded upset, as if she were constantly disappointed. "Consider yourself lucky to have that robot though. If it were powered by a fusion core it'd just be another hunk of metal. Head up to the house, they'll fill you in."
