@Mr Allen J Oh come on man, we've all been there. We've all at one point or another in our RP lives attempted to insert Space Raptors into an RP. Don't act like you don't know my struggles.
When you make some top quality AAA original content with Space Raptors, but everyone just laughs at you :'(

EDIT: I actually want to make a roleplay in which players play dinosaurs duking it out in a magical, primeval world one day.
<Snipped quote by Shorticus>
"I saw one of Craster's daughters give birth to a boy. I saw 'em leave it out in the woods... An' then I saw what took it..."
"You mean you saw one of them?"
"Yeah, fuckin' dragons!"
"Wait, dragons?"
"Yeah. I don't know how the fuck a lizard survives out in the cold. Must be why they're tryin' to come over the wall."
...Dammit, now I want to write the whole thing and send it to George just to piss him off...
This is not an angry or bitchy confession but rather a sentimental one...
I really would like to be given a chance here in terms of roleplaying partners and friends. My last time around on my old account was hard since my two best friends got into an argument. They left the most awesome roleplay we had together and abandoned the site too with only bitter words and not really thinking about me. Because I didn't want to give up on the story we built, I sorta continued it by writing it myself but I just got really sad and decided to delete it and start anew.
I came back after three weeks since the incident and decided to go under this account that I had reserved in the early RPG days. It's nice to see everyone around here knows each other so I'm hoping to fall into a group here somewhere, or a duo, a duo would be nice too.
I still have faith!
Tip: Jump on chat sometimes. Some good friends that I have we're not in an rp, but from chat themselves.
Also, pretty obvious, but if you find a good group of people just stay in contact. I'm back in a reboot version of an RP I left months ago and the guys have been really friendly. Actually makes me wonder why I left but I think I might have had personal issues around then too.
You'll find a group. May take a while, but you will.
Double-posting but is it really that important for your 1x1 interest check to be the first at the page after you just bumped up not too long ago.
Apparently, so.
As the saying goes...
"Desperate times call for desperate measures."
Oh well.
Speaking of 1x1's...
I'll go ahead and say this: I've been SERIOUSLY tempted to try a 1x1 RP in the past, and have even PM'd a couple folks. One of my reasons for not really stepping forward, though? I don't want romance and/or sex to be assumed to be a thing.
See, I really enjoy cooperatively writing with people, especially if it can be done in real time. I also like leisure paces, such as what a direct two person roleplay may involve. But I don't want to write a character with the express intent of making lovey dovey eyes or gettin' it on with someone else's character. If romance were to happen, it'd have to be a natural thing, a side thing even, a side-effect of the characters interact rather than the goal of the roleplay. And I think that's my problem.
Part of this is that just deciding "These two characters like each other and that's that" feels so wrong and not at all like real life. I mean, that's how physical attraction can work, certainly - but beyond that, chemistry is very important, and if there isn't chemistry between two characters, any romantic interaction between them will feel forced, or like a bad Romeo and Juliet story. I don't want to be a part of that.
My ideal situation would be having a 1x1 in which, say, both writers agree to write about dungeon delving or superheroes or piracy. And then, if for some reason two characters click... Well, why not? And if no romance develops? That's cool, too. It's not necessary to make a good story. Heck, FAILED romance could be fun, too.
But that's not what I see when I poke my nose into the 1x1 section. That's fine, of course. It's good that people can be open about wanting to do some romance-related roleplay. But it does make me feel like that one kid on the football team that stands on the sidelines waiting for coach to put him in.

No kidding...
I'd understand if you'd want it to be on the first page after a day or two but for an hour or less?
I never thought people could get competitive with 1x1's if it all depends on the person who is reading it is interested in what you have to offer, not how pretty one makes the post. You could have grammar errors here and there, put out a pairing or plot idea, and it will get likes.

I really enjoyed reading your rant!
The only 18+ I play out are just violence but a lot of people take it for smut. I like romance in my roleplays but honestly, I always like it for it to develop later in the roleplay. Plus, I'm one of those people who love their platonic relationships as much as their romance. Oh, and clean romance. Even though I'm over eighteen, I won't have none of that smut in stories. I know that doesn't speak much for my 1x1 hunt thread since it looks extremely plain but I'm encouraged to give it a makeover and edit in those details since I just rushed it so thank you for encouraging me!
Question, though:
Does that mean you've given up on 1x1's?
I haven't given up on the prospect, but I'll admit that I get a little cautious when I peer into the 1x1 section (which I do on occasion). The few times I've noticed a thread where someone outright said "Romance isn't the goal necessarily, but it COULD happen," well... Those threads are incredibly rare, for one, and for two, they always seem to be full. I'm willing to bet there are others with a similar mindset.
So, again: I haven't given up on the prospect. But discussing doing a 1x1 while also being upfront about not going in with romance as a goal has been a barrier to me, well, 1x1ing.
<Snipped quote by Shorticus>
That's good that you're faith is still intact!
I actually closed my thread right now so I don't give others the wrong idea that romance is to be expected so I'll edit in new information later.
On that note, are you currently looking for a roleplay to do? Because I'd be very willing to create something with you. I would just need to know what are your favorite roleplaying genres and interests.
Well, I'll tell you what: I'll shoot you a PM so we can talk about this. I'm too busy to join another group roleplay, but a leisurely paced 1x1 or a 1x1 that progresses on weekends would work. It's actually one of the reasons I've been inspecting the section.
