The terribly traced bottom islands and a sliver of the mainland. I purposely did not claim the island to my direct east due to a potential NPC plot should no one pick it.

Interesting, oh look, first time I have seen Willy outside the arena. >.>

Would a centaur race work in this setting? Assuming I join at least.
It would, we have even more weirder races at times.
BTW, I am pretty much almost only active in this section.

Whoa. I may claim land now rather than later and just make my nation weeks from now. The map is filling fast.

But that'd be rude to anyone who wanted to join after I staked the initial claim.

...g'dangit.
Just do it. It's better be safe than sorry.

Voicing interest, but that map is confusing AF.

Eh, whilst I'm here, with fantasy and what not how crazy are we talking?

EDIT: Probably will go for the largest island on the right of what is left, and the others that are not yet claimed unless you'd like to keep them free.

Depends.
Mid-fantasy.
No flying castles or magic as widespread common phenomenon. It exist, there are magic users in practically any nation but they aren't an obligatory part of the world.
There are no alternate planes with agenda or physical gods directly interfering with mortals.
You can have fantastical races, beasts or unique metals. A faint bit of clockpunk/dungeonpunk tech is also okay.

Also I will include a list of nations associated with each color but as things go it seems we're going to run out of colors. Meaning I gotta make repetitions sooner or later.

About the map: While I don't feel ready to post a nation / claim yet, I'd be happy to use Paint dot Net with the GM's permission + copious use of Paint dot Net's layers system to make nations easier to distinguish. I.E: I'd put a thin, transparent layer of appropriate colors over everyone's nations if that's desirable.
Can other users really see that? Because if yes, then I might be able to do it.
The problem is that I don't think most of us would put it into a photomanip program and check each layer.
Still, I kindly accept your offer and see how you mean to accomplish this.

Well, my plan is to upload both a PNG and a Paint dot Net file. The PNG would be available through Imgur, so anyone that wanted to see the current map could just... Yeah, see the current map with transparent colors and all. Anyone that wanted to look at the individual layers would probably need Paint dot Net.

So, short story: yeah, they could see it. To edit it the way I do it, though, they'd need the same or a similar program.

I'll check in at like 10 a.m. tomorrow morning and start on the map. I'm finishing a post for A New Dawn right now. It's 2:30 a.m. here.

Alright, I'll work on an NS and map by then. Will probably be taking the land directly south of Willy's ork Not!Mongols.

Anyway, I'd like to talk with potential neighbours for a bit of shared history.

I apologize for the confusion. I was discussing taking the mountain ranges, but I never did relinquish my initial forest land claim in the first page of the thread. I decided to just keep it.
@Willy Vereb
Sure^^. I have a bit of time before bed. I'm thinking of making my country into a fatalistic anglo saxon forest people with a big emphasis on honor and clan duty, with both the Dragon and Wolf as their sigil. I take it you're in the desert?

That makes no sense. Why do you own a long mountain chain along with a long foresty area which are only linked by a think junction?
You may want to choose between the two.
I don't mind adjusting the borders of my nation but then we'd also need to alter 3-4 other nation's borders with it.

Yes indeed, I plan on making a semi-nomadic realm made up of various tribes recently united. They're a centaur-like race called Eloians (basically centaurs) they shy from dealing with most other races beyond necessary trade. More recently, however, they have become more warlike and have started to raid neighboring regions more often. Probably due to a drought in their major migrating region. So possibly a harbinger to a forced migration gothic style depending on how things go.

My question is what possible interactions our people might have had, if any, previously. Which should shape how we move forward IC.

What? I don't have any mountains. I was thinking of taking Golem's mountain chain and switching for my intial territory, but I decided against it. I only have the forest. I was the 2nd person to choose any land and I've had it since the thread started. @Willy Vereb
Sorry if I'm sounding rude, I don't mean to be.

Hmmm...they would probably have had border disputes since my land is lush with rivers, forests, and foothills. Though I feel like there'd be a split in my people. Some seeing the Eloians as good killing practice and fodder (but formidable) enemies and others having respect for their prowess as people.

What do you think of having it that it was your people who historically drove them out of the forests countless generations ago?

Then the choice is easy.
I just have to erase the mountain nation and redraw a few borders and then I can add yours, too.

Can I claim this piece of land?

@GreivousKhanHmmm...that could be something we can do. My people pride themselves on being warriors, but they are not without virtue. "A fell man of good deeds" is the motto/compliment an older man says to a younger when they come of age. I suppose it could be like Rohan and the wild men in LOTR. I'd agree with my people having driven them out after a war, but having them maliciously conquer (or conquer without good reason) is something I cannot see them doing, unless an Eloian insulted a high ranking Thangor (my country will be Thangoradrim) and it led to a war where the centuar like people were eventually driven out.

Can you choose an unique color. I am personally about to run out of ideas with them.
That's what you get with 20+ players.

Well, I was seeing if you were open to the idea, as for the reason that is the next step. Such early conflicts would happen fairly easily, wars have been started for less than an insult Irl. However, I was thinking of the glades they inhabited was what they primarily fought over. Each would invariably be fighting for the betterment of their own people in that case.

@GreivousKhanMight we combine the reasons? Perhaps the Eloians inadvertently insulted the Thangors in a misunderstanding, and one by one my people conquered the glades to both gain resources and deprive the Eloians of them?

I can see that happening, heck we could even have it the other way in the Thangors unknowingly insulted the Eloians after joking about riding one. Goldeagle's brand of comedy is probably wearing off on me. But yes, the insult could have easily sparked the start of the dispute, with skirmishes slowly snowballing the scope of the problem until it became a full-scale conflict. How does that sound?

Eventually forcing the Eloians into the desert, would mark the end of the war. A century would go by with the Eloians holding onto the grudge to some extent and probably seasonally raiding into the glades now and again. Which will shape them excellently and gives me a great number of ideas of how to structure them. This has been very helpful thank you.

@GreivousKhanThe Thangors are generally very dour, though they get hearty at feasts. We can discuss the insult and from whom tomorrow, but that sounds good to me! It works out for both of us^^
