So, just to be clear, I have undergone a surgery and while it was nothing serious it is giving me a constant headache due to a god damn golf ball sized inflammation on my cheek.

I will be back to action eventually

Take your time and recover, bro dude. Your head takes priority over the words it writes.

Question: Is a RPG whose maps, characters and story are generated by random fractals and algorithms a JRPG?

It is if its made in japan.

Boom. Solved the case.
Honestly, the closest example I can think of for something like that would be One Way Heroics on steam. Neat little game where if you go left you die, and the worlds are generated by seeds like most survival games, and the characters are randomly placed, but that's pretty much where the randomness ends.

I forgot to ask you in the previous collab's conversation, but what sort of stuff can Astartian magic do? How does it work?

It's important now that Shrek da Biggest Ogre and Ventus have the stuff from Astarte's rock.

Astartian Magic is Soul Magic. It uses the user's soul as fuel to pull things off. What it can achieve is mostly dependent on the user, namely their personality and amount of willpower they possess. The stronger the willpower, the more amazing the feats they can perform.

In its most basic form, Astartian magic provides boosts to the physical prowess of the user, be it agility, strength, etc. As the user becomes more experienced, their magic begins to get naturally tailored to their personality. A brute like Big Ogre guy would find the basic function of buffed physical prowess to grow even stronger. Ventus, being a creationg of the God of Change and being basically just a being made of wind, is a bit harder for me to predict. He might get some weird ass set of abilities related to weather or he might be able to separate his soul from his body for a short while. I'm not sure.

To recap: Astartian Magic is soul magic. Its ridiculous versatility comes from how different everyone's souls are from each other. A violent person might find themselves able to light everything on fire with a simple touch of their hand while a manipulative person might find themselves projecting their soul outwards to envelop other persons with it, allowing them to successfully negotiate with them or persuade them.

So it's as erratic as Astarte?

You could say that. It's possible to control it, though. An user who's capable of changing their personalities at will, will also find their abilities change with it. Also, someone with a huge amount of willpower could forcefully break through the personality/ability barrier.

Forcefully manipulating your soul like that is bound to cause some pretty horrific/awesome side effects, though.

@The Irish Tree I'm currently learning java to help a team with making a RPG game where storylines are automatically generated.

There is plenty of random quests and maps out there, just look at Minecraft mods or Starbound or No Man's Sky, but this would be a step further, as to have the whole early dragon quest experience created RANDOMLY from seeds.

I agree that those are some pretty small numbers; I'll scale down Dancer and Tira's march to some ~5 Sculptors and ~100 Urtelem next time they become relevant to match up with the scale now we know. Grot remains the most fun event of the night.

I figured thousands would be a bit much given that we just got into the bronze age.

@Rtron Actually no bronze yet, though I guess once we get animal husbandry and farming metal tools won't take too much to follow

Yeah but as is one hero could probably wipe out a whole army. 100 corrupted stone-age warriors is nothing to the likes of Allure, Ventus, Nimueh, maybe even Gerrik...

We're still 1 or 2 turns from the bronze age.

@Vec Given the latest development in the IC, now would be a really good time for Yang'Ze, U'll Yang's avatar, to get involved.

Heh, soz for taking so long to answer. I haven't exactly been active these last few days cause exams are due in around 2-3 weeks and I gotta get ready :/ I'll get up to date with the IC and see what I can do.

100 corrupted stone-age warriors is nothing to the likes of a natural herd of Urtelem.

Gerrik's only limiting factor in this case is how many arrows he has.

After this war I will probably get the normal Rovaick up to the bronze age. As they live in mountains and underground they probably need it the most.

Oh, exams are important. That is understandable.

How much we'll need your Avatar will depend on how well negotiations go with Vestec. But since this is Vestec we're talking about, who knows what will happen?

P.S. @Muttonhawk, White Giants and Humans. Humans were made independently of Slough. Does that mean White Giants attack Humans?

As much as I would like them not to as a player, they would be attacked by white giants, yes. However, given how similar their make-up is to other Sloughant life, a case could be made against them being attacked if someone wanted to build it. Otherwise, there are plenty of giants that have died for various reasons. Whenever they die there is basically a small empty territory available for settlement.

Meh. Like I said. Vestec didn't really plan this.

The bulk of this war looks like it will go for a couple of weeks. After then, all that should remain is the corrupted Pronobii, who will get to the south pole after a month or more of marching, and Storm Djinn.

That reminds me, how exactly are we doing this war again? Are those involved going to collab with Rtron and stuff? Cuz that sounds like how it's going to work out.
