@ViolentViolet They headed over the east bridge, which normally most people don't bother going that way because there's hills, the trees are sparse, and not as much hunting game. Perfect place to disappear for some quiet time to practice shadow boxing. Couple of dumb boys frolicking about in the woods might catch her attention. Then she just has to follow.

If it's them stumbling upon her practicing your looking for then you may want to hold off until they start traveling together, so far they're done wandering the woods until after they leave with a dragon goody bag.

@ViolentViolet If you don't read the whole of the IC, I recommend reading at least the second page. It's not very long anyway, but that part should give you a good visual of where we are right now.

hour and a half drawing that eye. Worth it

EDIT: I'm amazed how noone mentioned the feeling that's nagging at the back of their minds to the others.

@Forsythe Everyone's clearly interested in the house and their discovery, but since no one has to explain it's better not to, in their minds at least, because what if it's just them and they sound crazy? Despite evidence to the contrary, I'd be a little distracted and probably wouldn't notice the others' feelings myself.

Oh, and yes, yes it was worth it. :P

I really hope I'm not too forward with that post. I just got a little trigger happy.

I followed what was laid out in the OOC as best as I could.

Roar I say. @Gisk brought up a good topic, there is going to be a lot of telepathy and vocal speech mixed around, that could get messy especially if more people do collabs. I actually have a system to my posts like this so you can orient yourself better in it:

Text.
"Speech."
Thought.
"Telepathy."

@Forsythe It's a good system, makes a lot of sense. :p I use that myself.

@Gisk@Forsythe

A thing about Riders, their magic is best done when channeled through the hand with the insignia, usually their dominant hand, and the magic is the same color as that of their dragon.

Having the insignia on one's chest... I'll let you guys figure out how that works, 'cause I don't know. Not a clue. :O

Using individual colors for speech helps too, and will help even more for this. I chose orange for Alph to sort of match the color of his dragon. I figure for Ashwing we can do a darker orange. so that they are similar but distinct.

@Ceta de Cloyes That's just what's most typical. Maybe Alph won't even use his hands when casting magic, and actually having it on his chest kind of resonates with the idea of him being a spellsinger, too(both the music and the magic coming from his chest).

Oh, and I kind of imagined that all of them hatched at the same time, and the room gets plunged into chaos for a few minutes.

@Ceta de Cloyes: I see no reference anywhere for hand to be the best way, just the most usual. Again, I support that by many not needing hands or for that matter even words to cast.

@Gisk: I don't do colors, because you don't see them in books either. My writing philosophy is that if you can't tell who's speaking, you wrote it wrong and you should do over =P

Well that's how I'd write if I were writing a book, and typically that's how I do write, but I also want to make sure that everything is understood, even to someone who might *cough* just be skimming the posts.

I don't do this to make great works of literature, I do it to have fun. So I write in whatever way makes it easiest for everyone to follow.

So. There will be eight eggs. So eight dragons, which means eight riders. Nine, even, because Saphira and Eragon. Oh, ten, Murtagh and Thorn. Maybe eleven because Arya and Firnen. Depends on how things happen. BUT! Eight original dragons. Three canon. (galby isn't playable, sorry peps.) That's the limit I'm putting in place as of now, we will only have slots for eight riders until the Rock and the Vault. Everyone else will have to be non-rider characters.

So far we have five; Galen and Kolysakr, Grendel and Onam, Alphonse and Ashwing, Demund and Damascus, and Zyloria and her as yet unsubmitted dragon. I know one more person wants to join when Elvish characters become available, so that's potentially six riders so far. Those of you lurking (if there are any) or those just checking out the RP now and have some interest, be aware there is potentially only two slots left for riders.

Also, sorry. Got a bit dark when I just plopped a rotting dead rider in the corner. :O And no, there isn't a rider sword on her. That is long gone.

For right now I would like to play my own dragon. I'm working on her sheet, but it might be a while before she's up.

In the interest of convenience and accuracy, I will try to have more information available on upcoming zones. If you'd prefer not to know until it happens then say so, but for now some information on the surrounding areas from an OOC POV:

- Burnt Path:

A battle has clearly taken place here, and a body has been left plain in the middle of the path. There is a gash in his chest where a sword dealt a fatal blow. His clothes are fine, if dirty, signifying his wealth. Strange dents in the ground and the burnt flora reveals a magical battle took place here to those who know how to look for those signs. The man is Terryn Mericson, the man who originally found the eggs and wrote the unfinished letter in the hut. Loot includes letters to those he's in contact with, which could lead to allies or information about the state of the Empire, as well as some coin, jewelry, and basic traveling supplies. He took Lanarí's rider sword, but it was the only thing looted from his corpse. It is now in the hands of the Empire.

- Mashal:

Because a Rider sword was found on the man, an agent of the Empire's new order (which is in it's infant stages and is a construct of my own built to even the field and thus is unknown to players and characters alike) has been sent to the nearby town to sniff out what happened to the wielder. Because no one knows anything about the sword, the agent has become threatening and is using certain abilities of hers to... do something. :P

Three villagers are dead (nobodies, not anyone related to the characters), and their bodies are being burnt. The village is scared and outraged, and everyone has sealed themselves in their homes for the day, making it apper like a ghost town except for the charred remains in the center of the village. If the characters come back to town, expect them to see this.

- The Egg Cave:

Pretty much all thats been said so far in the ic is all that's needed. It's a big dark tunnel turned into a makeshift hiding place by a clever rider, who then succumbed to grief after the death of her dragon. Eight eggs are spread haphazardly around the room, as well as a satchel off in a corner somewhere containing the rider's supplies; dried ink, more blank paper, some coin, a map of Alagaesia as it was 100 years ago. Some jewelry, most of which is inset with gems. All of her written belongings, including the journal Gale collected, are written in the Ancient Language.

- The Eastern Hills:

This is the flooded location the group traveled through to reach the hut, it is mostly uninhabited in the locations around them. Moving too far north, south, or east however, and you will no doubt run into bandit or slaver camps. Returning back across the Ramr river however is much safer, except for the fact the empire has a stronger presence there.

So these are the primary locations of note in the area, however nothing has to come of them. We could just as easily turn north and spare the complications of goodbyes and explanations to the villagers, which might endanger them further, and simply head to the elves right away.

If we take that option however, we will have to stop at a small noname village for supplies before we get anywhere near anything big. This is what I'm going to call a 'locked event'. We have to stop because it's necessary for the plot that we meet someone there. As for imagery for the town we stop at for this event, just picture what you did for Mashal. Small quiet village, not really on the empire's radar (except for taxes!) simple people working hard to survive. Nothing extraordinary or noteworthy except for who we'll meet there.
