Sapphire, Hawk and Charlotte
the three of them listened to Arken's words then left the training room they headed back to their rooms and place their things put down their things.
as Hawk walked into his room she saw Winter who seamed to be taking a look around he noticed their room was covered in ice not surprising considering his roommate luckily the cold never bothered him. he simply sat down and closed his eyes as he began to meditate like he did everyday wind began to dance around and he began to hover off the ground.
after leaving her things by the door Sapphire locked up and went to look around the island. she took out her map and saw their was a lake not far from the academy she decided to go take a look as she came to the lake she saw a large crystal clear lake surrounded by mountings as far as the eye could see. Sapphire decided to dive in and go for a swim as she did she saw that the lake was full of fish and other sea life some that even she had never seen before she decided to stay under the water and take a look around for a while.
like Sapphire Charlotte decided to go exploring she decided to take a walk around without the help of the map. as she left the academy she saw a large maze but she had a and feeling about it and decided to avoid it. Charlotte waled around it an soon came to a large field. she could see a large number of exotic flowers and a number of trees all over the filed and mountings could be seen in the distance. she could hear birds sinning and saw butterfly's and other incest hovering around the flowers. she decided to jump into one of the tree and just relax for a little while. She lay back and closed her eyes and she listened to the sound of nature and the smell of the flowers as she felt a gentle breeze blow pat her.
Ruby
after Ruby sat down a few more students had their tune in the training room she payed little attention to most of them as she stayed seated not sure what hurt more her gut or her pride. he looked up as she saw a flaming app call out "Let me show you how it is done little girl." as she saw the fake Arken appear once again she stood up and walked slowly towards the training area and got as close as she could to the fight she paid extra attention to the battle looking for any weakness the fake Arken may posses but all she saw was a display of his overwhelming power. Ruby noticed the app had gotten disorientated and sloppy after he reabsorbed his own fire that the fake Arken sent back at him the only explanation she could come up with was he used his magic to infect his fire somehow but she could not be sure. Just as Ruby ha given up and though the fight was over he got back up and went to hit the fake Arken in the face and saw the app fly back she knew it must have been the same ability he used on her. However this time she noticed a few things, the fist thing she noticed was the app was clearly hit in the face the same way he hit the fake Arken the seconded thing was their was no sign of any elements hitting the app one explanation was only the force of the attack was reflected and not the properties then she looked to the fake Arken with a puzzled look as she saw him flinch and jolt forward as the app hit the wall. she had a theory but she hat to test it to be sure after the fight was over she sat back down soon the real Arken spoke up and gave her as well as the other a few pointers
"its said we learn more in defeat then we do in victory but we learn nothing in surrender and considering their was no real danger and that was the fist time i had the opportunity to fight such a powerful foe the benefits far exceeded the risks. that being said that was the fist time i have ever lost a fight and while the fact that lost so easily damaged my pride the only real damage i took was a hit to the gut but that was worth it, as i did learn something that will likely help in tomorrows training session."
After she was done talking she simply stayed sitting down until everyone else left the training room she then stood back up her stomach now felling much better after her rest and walked back into the center of the training room it was time for her to put her theory's to the test test.
Ruby VS Arken
Ruby thought of Arken once again and sure enough the fake appeared in front of her she already knew a few of his abilities but this was not about winning it was about testing the limits of his powers so she began fight the same way to see how he would respond
Once again she created a huge twin scythe out of Kinetic Energy it was as light as air yet as strong and sharp as diamond Ruby smiled as she got ready to agents this fake Arkan she used her Kinetic Energy charge the air with Kinetic Energy witch she used to compress the air and she used that compressed air make air bullets that would be completely inadvisable to most people while she charged her own body up with Kinetic Energy allowing her to fly as well as creating a Kinetic barrier around her while she hovered off the ground she then shot the dozen air bullets at the fake Arkan.
Arken stared at her and as the bullets came he waved at them which turned them into mere ants. He then looked to the energy orb and clicked his fingers. She would quickly realize that all oxygen in the orb and disappeared completely.
"The same trick never works twice, especially if it doesn't work the first time. Just go bed Ruby. You won't win."
He stared at her, waiting for her to respond as he watched her next move carefully.
Ruby looked to the fake Arken as he spoke
"this inst about winning this is about fingering out what your capable of"
this time he didn't turn her powers agents her so she decided to take advantage of that she knew she didn't have long since he removed the oxygen but she could hold her breath for several minuets before passing out she flew at the fake Arken as she charged her left fist full kinetic and went to punch him in the face while throwing her twin scythe behind him it coved though the air and came at from his right side.
Arken watched as the scythe came for him, it drew closer and closer, until eventually it went right through him and headed for Ruby. The Arken disappeared and instead appeared behind her. He shot a large energy blast behind her then waited and watched what she would do next.
Ruby caught her scythe as she span around in mid air she the span her scythe around at an ineradicable speed not only blocking the energy blast but defeating it as she did she amplified its kinetic energy increasing its power and speed exponentially as it flew back towards the fake Arken.
Arken stared at the energy blast and let out a simple sigh. He held out his palm and as it hit the energy just disappeared and then reappeared above Ruby, immediately he made the room pitch black, then he would disappear completely even if she turned on the lights somehow again. Now with the room being pitch black, he had the advantage, being able to see in the dark fine.
Ruby saw the energy blast appear above her this was nothing she hadn't seen him do before she jumped back to avoid the blast and as she did everything went black she snailed to herself, she could sense the kinetic energy of any moving object be it a person or an attack so if he stayed where he was then she knew exactly where to attack and if he moved he would sens his location. this didn't change anything but she knew she hat to move fast it had already been about three minuets since he got rid of the oxygen. Ruby then shot air bullets at the walls and ceiling blowing holes in them creating ruble she then over charged the kinetic energy inside them and lunched them at the fake Arken as they moved at the speed of sound heading for him from all directions ,they would explode on contact with anything with enough force to level a mountain.
Arken stood completely motionless, the blades stopped just before they hit him, flew off away from him and exploded. He laughed a little, so far he hadn't needed to break a sweat and knew she wouldn't last much longer. He knew why she was doing this but still it wouldn't help her much. Arken then concealed his kenetic energy and made it impossible for her to track him. He teleported to another location and watched carefully.
Ruby was getting frustrated as she knew she was running out of time "ahh fuck it" she shouted in anger she knew from the start that he could easily stop her powers but she was being careful not wanting to get to close. Ruby hat to see his revers ability once she hat to know weather her theory was correct she no longer cared if she was hit by the force of her own attack she hat to force his hand and the only way she knew to do that was to hit him with a physical attack at point blank range. she filled her body with kinetic energy as she did her body began to glow creating enough light for her to see the fake Arken. she then would disappear from sight for just a second only to reappear behind the fake Arken she then focused half of that energy into her right arm and the other half into her feet she punched the fake Arken in the back and jumped to her left in an attempt to avoided any counter attack that may follow.
Arken was thrown forward as she punched him in the back, he stayed still for a good few minutes on the ground. His back was out of place as if it were broken. It was then that Arken shot out of the wall with incredible speed, he held out his palms and send a large magic blast out of his palms, then dark tentacles shot out from his fake body to hopefully grab and bind her. Then more shot out from the walls beside her as well as the roof.
to Rubys surprise it tuned out as the she attacked a fake, fake Arken as the real one came behind as tentacles at her from all directions she quickly released a kinetic shack wave from her body that destroyed the tentacles she then released the kinetic energy from her feet jumping up in the air towards the roof avoiding the real fake Arkens attack. When she reached the roof she pushed of the roof coming back down towards the real fake Arken she released a burst out of her elbow lunching herself and her fist froward like a rocket aiming for his face.
Arken watched as she dodged, he saw her coming down at him and just before she hit he teleported above her and created a pool of liquid. He smiled, and snapped his fingers, suddenly walls began to come around her, trying to trap her and make it so the only way out was down into the liquid.
Ruby smiled knowing what he was attempting to do she created a landing pad of sorts out of kinetic energy in mid air just above the walls as she landed he jumped up at him as he descended towards her only a couple minuets left she thought to herself as he started to get a little dizzy she released kinnect energy out of her elbow once more this time coursing her to at a rapid pace allowing her to maneuver a little in the air she came at Arken from his side now level with hims as she went to knee him in the face punch him in the chest.
Arken smiled, it was almost time, just a little longer. As she came for him again he lifted his legs up and shot out magic blasts from his feet at her which would also send him into and through the wall which made him appear elsewhere. He smiled, now being on the opposite end of her.
"You haven't got much time left and you haven't managed to hit me yet."
He watched her very carefully, he just needed to hold off a little longer.
Ruby now only had a minuet left she was beginning to give up on making him use that ability it was almost like he was perilously avoiding using it even though that ability had already ended two fights, just then she had a realization she told the real Arken that she noticed something that would help her in tomorrows training session that must be why he wont use that ability. Ruby smiled and decided to try a more direct approach.
"you know don't you, you know that i discovered the weakness to that revers ability of yours and i started this rematch to confirm my theory that's why your not using it isn't it?. well if you wont use it then i may as well just ask while its active we take any damage dealt to you. that munch i know for a fact so i am correct in assuming that you take any damage that is dealt to us?.
after she had finished speaking she placed her hand on her head she was now running out of breath and was now struggling to stand she didn't have long left but she tried to hold on to hear his response.
Arken smiled as she finally spoke, he walked up to her and the stared her in the eyes. She would sense no lie in his voice or anywhere, in fact she would have a feeling of 'Truth'
"You still don't understand? All this time you have relied on your power but no matter what you do it doesn't work. You need to learn a new strategy for beating those who make your power useless. That is why I am not using it, to show that you couldn't hit me if I actually tried thus making your power useless and when that happens you find a me way to fight."
He smiled some more before walking away, he looked behind himself to see if she passed out already.
Ruby listened to Arken as he answered
"you think i don't understand that i knew winning a fight agents you one on one was hapless and as for finding a new way to fight there is no real way to fight agents someone with your kind of power with only your bare hands so using my power amplify my physical abilities is my only other option and even so i knew that would not be enough to win but i wasn't out to win i was just looking to find out weather my theory was right or wrong. Now stop deflecting the question and give me a real assure."
she fell to her knees as she said this now barely holding on just then she had n idea she knew Arken would not let any harm come to his students and knew the same would be true for the fake as he looked back he would see Ruby used what was left of her strength and filled herself with kinetic once more as she lunched herself towards the roof for one last move, is she was not stopped she would ram into the roof creating an explosion on contact this would destroy the hologram emitter as well as kill her he would be able to feel her resolve and determination in this last ditch effort knowing he would intercept her attack before she made contact with the roof.
Arken was about to answer when suddenly she began to head up the roof. He sighed before holding out his palm. Suddenly she would teleport towards him then, knowing it was coming took all her kinetic force away from her and grabbed her hand.
"No, like I said I was merely trying to teach you that you could not win this way. It isn't my weakness."
He let go of her hand and looked to her seriously. Once again the feeling of truth would sneak into her brain.
Ruby fell out of the sky as Arken grabbed her hand she let out a soft smile as she pulled out a knife and plunged it into his neck severing his carotid artery. just as she did she began to lose consciousness.
Arken watched as the knife went into his neck, he clicked his fingers and the wound healed as well as anything that was injected into him. With that she fell unconscious and he disappeared.
as Arken disappeared the oxygen returned and soon after Ruby woke up and thought of Arken once more ready to try again.
This time toe of them showed up, the real Arken sighed as he looked to himself. She was determined and he had to admit, he liked that.
Ruby, go take a rest. You've done enough training for today."
He clicked his fingers and the fake Arken disappeared meaning the training room had but shut off for the night.
Ruby look annoyed its not like it was late so why was he stopping her from fighting some more. now she was convinced he was hiding something about his reverse ability he deflected her question repeatedly refused to use it sure he was tying to teach her to not rely on her powers but its not like she had another way to fight agents him. like Ali showed fighting with out any powers agents someone with overwhelming power is useless the best she could do was come up with a new way to use them. whens she considers that the real Arken had now shown up to prevent her from fighting his copy for no real reason the only conclusion she could come up with was he was hiding about that power. for now she had no choice but to walk away but she decided to assume her theory was correct until proven wrong since he seamed to be hiding something about it. Ruby knew if he used it in tomorrows training she would have the chance to test it then. Ruby grabbed her things and walked to her room and placed them on her bed she then looked at her map and saw a lake close by she decided to go for a swim she grabbed her swim suit and headed for the lake. once their she got changed behind some bushes and got in the water she lay back and began to flout on the water for a little while.
