“What are you doing, my son?!”
“Succeeding you...father.”
“Succeeding you...father.”
Madness has seized the Capital City. Those who welcomed the return of Prince Arthas with open arms have been met with cold steel. As the Cult of the Damned sweeps out across the countryside, settlers scamper frantically to find what little safety they can in these twisted new plaguelands.
Brittlepond is a small, unassuming village which sits not far from the ruins of the Capital City; nestled in the shadow of Silverpine Forest. But whilst the residents have spent their years in blissful ignorance to the town’s greater purpose, this small settlement holds a dark secret.
During the Troll Wars, Brittlepond was the sight of a horrific battle between the Amani and the Human/Elf Alliance. In the midst of the bloodshed, the troll Witch Doctor Zul’Kaz rained warped magics down upon the defenders, using a hellish artifact which would come to be known as the “Eye of the Chaos”. Although the alliance forces emerged victorious, it was decided that the Eye of Chaos posed too great a threat to the free peoples to be ignored, so it was locked away beneath Brittlepond, to be watched over by an order of secret guardians, who were dubbed “The Stalwart”. As the years flickered by, mothers and fathers handed their duty of protection down to their descendants, making sure they were prepared for the day when the Kingdom would once again need to take up arms against invaders.
As anarchy blazes throughout Lordaeron, the Scourgelord Naten (a former member of the Stalwart) has set his eyes upon Brittlepond, and seeks to claim the Eye of Chaos for the Cult of the Damned. After years of waiting, the Stalwart must rise up against these invaders, and sacrifice everything to stop the Scourge from harnessing the artifact’s eldritch power.
The journey ahead of our heroes will surely be the stuff of legends, as they travel from town to town, forced to stay one step ahead of Lord Naten, whilst the land which they call home burns and crumbles around them.
The fall of Lordaeron is a self-contained story revolving around a (mostly) original cast of heroes; set in the Warcraft universe, just after Arthas’ betrayal. Players will assume control of characters of their own creation, and take part in an epic quest across the ruined kingdom.
Any takers?
