So... Howdy. My name's TurntechGallows, and yes it's an amalgamation of two Homestuck character's pesterchum handles. Honestly it'ss been a long time since I've even read it (I've heard it's finished now though), however I just always loved the name and so it stuck.
I'm fairly new to the roleplay world, having played four characters in two formats
Pathfinder:
Marick: He was a young sorcerer that was the son of the emperor... just nobody knew it. He possessed a silver-tongue, however a couple bad rolls of the die and he was burnt to a crisp by the emperor's guards who didn't believe him...
Mako: After Marick's death I decided to change styles and switch to a slower, more analytical type. Mako was a samurai who had a sort of quiet strength about him, and I really would have loved to flesh him out more than he was, but formats were changed and he got the boot.
Transitioning to Rifts: The Cosmic Horror of it all
The Shadow Boxer: Was a superbeing who was half angel, half demon. Cliche I know, but he didn't ever flesh out the idiosyncratic behaviors and motives that could have accompanied such things as... well he died too. I thought I had created this super strong character, and was quite proud of him ("super strength, speed, healing factor, can morph in to the shadows, this one surely won't die on me!")... Well he did. Nommed by a dragon who rolled a couple of 20s. It truly set the bar on how insignificant you were in this world
Corbin Kainee: Glitterboy (read mech suit of doom) pilot. Spent two weeks on his backstory and personality. Played him for the first time yesterday. Possessed and blown up...
TL;DR
I'm new to roleplaying and in table-top format all my characters end up dying.
So that's about it. I'd love to join in any adventures, and I really enjoy the opportunity to grow as a storyteller and roleplayer as I participate in this. I play both female and male characters, and honestly don't have setting preferences as of yet.
