The box is small in comparison to what you are used to, no overdose of labels and names of companies. It's pretty basic, but in its plain state, you bask in its glory. Across one side of the box is the Latin phrase: Tabula Rasa. It's printed down the corner, mirroring it on the other edge is the name of the game, the long awaited return of the beloved classic: Haven. Opening the box, awaiting inside is the small light headset, that will completely remove you from reality.

The technology would be basic, it reacts off of brain waves, anything that you think within the confines of the headset will happen in the virtual world. A paper slip falls to the floor as you remove the headset from the box, an instructions packet. The paper hits the floor face down, leaving the back page warning staring you directly in the face.

Trash said Photosensitive seizure warning
A very small percentage of people may experience a seizure when exposed to certain visual images, including flashing lights or patterns that may appear in video games. Even people who have no history of seizures or epilepsy may have an undiagnosed condition that can cause these “photosensitive epileptic seizures” while watching video games.

These seizures may have a variety of symptoms, including lightheadedness, altered vision, eye or face twitching, jerking or shaking of arms or legs, disorientation, confusion, or momentary loss of awareness. Seizures may also cause loss of consciousness or convulsions that can lead to injury from falling down or striking nearby objects.

Immediately stop playing and consult a doctor if you experience any of these symptoms. Parents should watch for or ask their children about the above symptoms. Children and teenagers are more likely than adults to experience these seizures.

The risk of photosensitive epileptic seizures may be reduced by taking the following precautions:

Play in a well-lit room
Do not play if you are drowsy or fatigued
If you or any of your relatives have a history of seizures or epilepsy, consult a doctor before playing.

Most would ignore the instructions manual, the possible risks it could warn you about - This choice is left for the users.

Inside the game manual explains the beginning, how to begin the journey. Inside the headset almost like a dream, you can close your eyes and still play -

WELCOME TO HAVEN!

The world that is ever changing, the sandbox of this generation, a second life - Tabula Rasa: A clean slate.

You begin your journey in a void, nothing but the darkness of space around you with a mirror, choosing your race - your class. A mirror has been granted to show you your appearance. The AI programmed into Haven will help accommodate you in whatever race or class you desire. There are no limits in this process - Nothing is impossible for Haven.

Race: Anything you wish. (Human, Elf, Vampire, Dwarf, etc etc)

Class: Anything you wish. (Mage, Druid, Cleric, Ranger, Trojan, Pirate, Ninja, etc etc)

Level 10:

I plan on adding more to this, but at this moment there doesn't need to be a page long post. This is a brief introduction, and layout of a few things needed to be said. Those said above are examples, the weapon qualities can be further explained in detail upon request - I'll eventually add more details later. From the beginning in this OOC we can discuss how people know eachother (if in RL or inside the VR) meet-ups and such. I am going to wait until a few CS's show up before I start working on one as my own.

Surrounding Birth Village will be pretty easy stuff when it comes to 'mobs' - I wont add all the types - but there will be small pheasants (of sorts, and the further you move away from the village, stronger mobs will appear.)

Characters:

Inventory - limitless,(Swiping your hand, or thinking about your inventory will display this, including everything that you have picked up, and equipped.

New Characters Inventory
6 Health Potions.
6 Mana Potions

I'll start fiddling around with mine, I have a basic idea of what I am going for already. I know you said you are going to be updating it more, does that include a sheet for the IRL character as well?

the IRL characters can be anything, except you know, the obvious superpowers and weaponry (just ordinary people) I do want to add that this game is not 'cheap' so if your irl character is living in poverty - they must have been saving a long time for this, or got lucky (a birthday present?)

Necrosis that is perfect, I forgot to mention the screen name or In game name (IGN) Normally (most) games do not let you put spaces in the name, but it can be either or in this. Since I've played a few that will do separated names (first and last) So for future reference, if anybody wishes they can have just one name like: Dragonknight or Metalshadow - But yours is fine and those wishing to do the same are welcome to do so. Side note on your appearance; Most MMORPG's don't start you out looking like a complete badass, BUT, the character creation screen will let you customize your character any which way you want - that being said... If that is how you want your character to look throughout their lives in the VR, any new gear you find (that will be stronger than what you have from the beginning, can be hidden from your character. (For example, if you were to pick up a rare cloak that does not look as good as your starting appearance, you will be given the option to wear it while still keeping the same appearance.. (this seems a bit drawn out for something so simple I apologize. )

Personality and history are of little importance to me, I know that throws up warning signs when it comes to going into detail, and how my GM traits go - but as important as they are, they can be defined in the IC thread - With good writers, anything that you can write in OOC should be brought up in character.

IVIasterJay, Unless you plan on trying to level off other players via duels, you may want to think about some sort of defense other than your skills. The cool down on skills that you have defined due to their usefulness and power will be a good delay before you can use them again in a battle. Especially if a battle is followed with more battles - usually consistent while trying to level ones character is to fight for a while. (I am mainly talking about the second active skill you have) But to be on the safe side unless you wish to keep evading in the early stages (some mobs from the beginning and later will be able to 1 hit you, with no defense)

Is it just me or does Time Counterstrike seem over powered?

He's meant to be a support character. I was debating whether or not to give him any damaging skills. The second active is more to use when he sees his allies really struggling and needing a quick assist. Only once he get's the three passives at level 10 will he be able to deal any real damage on his own. His skills will all need pretty long cooldowns, which is why Time's Advance Pay will be a game changer as far as his combat style goes.

Edit: Hmm... yeah, I'm going to have to rewrite Time's Counterstrike. Probably will just drop the healing.

Update: I am working on getting a map situated. I will soon have some main quest updates, as well as some side quests. Main quests will be part of the games generic story line - anything that happens that is player based will be improvised. Quests that I set up will have rewards that will be fashioned toward the player/team finishing them, and will take time to complete.

I have some additional info that I will be adding before this begins, including starting gold (in game currency) And basic rules regarding loot that is dropped by mobs / experience gained and so on.

I believe so at least I was under the idea that they did. In most RPG games they do so why not this one?

Yes they carry over, you keep the skills you get through leveling - Just so everybody knows, I will be adding more milestones for levels and class promotions (Level 10, will be the first class promotion)

What this entails, if you are a mage, and you feel that magic is not all you wish to be doing, you can merge jobs with a warrior - This being said will add different traits to your character - making them stronger with melee, but weakening magic spells. It can be a good thing, to learn an assortment of skills - but it has its drawbacks. As for moving forward (not merging) You have the choice of continuing the path of your current class (job) by strengthening the skills you have already learned while learning new ones.

I just edited my CS into my first post above.

Firstly, I apologize if this sounds whiny, but we're starting at level one. That means we have wimpy skills that we'll either never use again or improve upon with later skills. I would scream "Munchkin!" at Mercury if it were anyone but Jay (but I know Jay's an awesome RPer, so he's not doing it to be the best).

Now then, Necrosis, do you mind me inserting my character into your character's life?
