Okay folks, I'm really craving trying my hand at a Dresden files RP. I figured I'd toss this out, see if there are any other people interested in hatting up and kicking some monster ass.

Hmm? Do I have an idea for a game? Nope, not a one. That's why I'm posting this. See if I can get a few dedicated players and we can hammer out a game plan. I mean there is some many options we could do in a Dresden based game. We could be a rag-tag group of minor talents who end up way over their head. A group of wardens hunting down a some dangerous threat that is more than it appears. A few outcasts of kind-hearted-monsters and changelings desperate to hang on to their humanity and perhaps do some small good in this world of dark beasts and darker gods. Our possibilities are endless, And I'm cool with what ever. So, any takers?

I am absolutely in! I'm in another DF RP offsite, but the plot's advancement can be counted in IRL months, so I can use this one to date my need for Dresden Files in the interim.

Is this going to be using the Dresden Files rpg ruleset? I have the books.

@Tojin I know that feeling. Half the reason I put of the call for this game was because my other one slowed to a crawl. Flipped a coin for making my own of that game or scratching my Dresden itch, and well you see what came up xD

@Altasaire I had not planed on that, My experience with system games is very limited, and I've never ran the DF table top. I'd be willing to give it a shot if the group is interested in a system based game though.

Okaydokay, we defiantly have a fair amount of interest. He have one person saying they are cool with what ever kind of setting/plot. What of the rest of ya'll? Little minnows trying to swim deep, Squad of wardens staring down an impossible mission, or gentle-soul monsters trying to do the right thing? Thoughts, Ideas, Suggestions?

Okay, two little Minnows votes.

A thought on Little Minnow character creation. I picture characters being divided into potentially three archetypes, so we have a verity of character options for your creative endeavors.

"Lesser Talents" those how have the fineness more akin to actual wizards but not the proper power/potential to be white court material. While they can't produce a large punch, they have more varied magical skills. It takes them a lot more work and time to get even a tenth of the results of your average white council member, but its a great deal more than most. And working together and orgnized you can be a much more serious threat than most would care to admit.

"One Trick Ponies" A gift with fire, a Communion with the dead, a understanding of force and will, a talent with wards, or natural with nature spells. Some would call you a one trick pony, but you prefer to think of yourself as a savant. You have a special gift for one area of magic. In that one area they may be as skilled as anyone outside the council, you may be able to even throw one punch hard enough to even look council level, though it would probably take all you had to manage it. Your punches may be bigger than average but you have nothing else up their sleeve.

"Gifted By Birth" Those born with a specific magical ability. Gifted or cursed to bare the burden of a power that is simply part of who you are. Proficiency, telepathy, astral projection, animal speech, etc. Though a wizard may be able to imitate your skill, they are often a pale copy. your abilities are unique to yourself. Generally speaking They have even less verity in their abilities than either of the previous types of minor talents. But at the same time almost no body can do what you do.

Thoughts?

If I had to vote I would pick One Trick Ponies as my first choice and Gifted By Birth as my second.

Okay all. As I'm not getting all the discussion/input that I was hoping for I suppose I shall simply start building a game around us playing lesser talent dealing with something way out of their depth. I have a few ideas for setting and possible villains and NPCs and such.

The question from here is are we doing a straight up descriptive game or system based game. This I would rather like a full vote on, I want all to be comfortable with what ever kind of game I end up running :D

So what shall it be friends. Free-form or System?

I personally prefer system.
