Personality:
Jess has a fairly complicated personality. She is reckless, loud, and impulsive. She is narcissistic and self-centered. It almost seems as though she only interacts with other people so she can receive their attention. Her relationships seem based off her getting what she wants, not about reciprocating feelings and mutual bonding with the other people involved. However, her magnetic personality gains her many followers, and she is popular wherever she goes.

It’s ironic that she can’t seem to connect with others, yet they are drawn to her. While Jessamine's mental diagnosis seems to be sociopathy, Jess doesn’t see it as a sickness. As far as she’s concerned, she’s just free of societal conventions. Crazy people can do whatever they want and they can get away with it, because they’re crazy. The difference between her and other mentally damaged people is that she loves her life; and she loves the lack of responsibilities and consequences she sees due to the life sentence she has already been given.

Jess is a dangerously attractive figure for other people, and the dark side of her personality can appear without warning. She veers from extravagantly kind to perversely cruel, therefore making it excruciatingly difficult to predict what she will do next. With her mental instability comes her intelligence, although it is unlikely she will share her findings, she can solve a number of problems within a matter of seconds. Her intellect is mainly used, though, for locating and exploiting others' weaknesses and figuring out the truth of each and every being.

Strengths:
Intelligent- she is abnormally smart. That's all there is to it, really. That, and she has a really good memory- most likely photographic.
Detached- she will not become an emotional burden for the group due to her mental condition, if anything, it may even be refreshing to the others for someone to actually speak what everyone else is thinking.
Selfish- though many see this as a negative thing, when it comes to it, Jess will not sacrifice herself for others and will almost always choose her own well being over anyone else's. This may ultimately be what determines life and death for her.

Flaws:
Unpredictable- she can go from cracking jokes to screaming her head off in a matter of seconds, and next to nothing will be the cause of it.
Insensitive- although this may be advantageous in certain aspects, Jess pretty much doesn't give a shit. She will push people to their very limit for entertainment, find joy in watching people break, and say things that'll disgust most.

History:
Jess was brought up as an only child by an abusive, drunken father after her mother died during child birth. She spent the majority of her childhood alone until she started wandering around the streets and getting involved with the 'wrong people'. She would steal small things from people's pockets or purses and, one time, managed to retrieve a credit card along with its bank details on a single peice of paper. After a short while of hesitation, at the time, the twelve year old started using the card and spent over £4 million in England on junk and pointless things she found interesting before she was caught. Lashing out at the first police officer, the young girl of merely thirteen stabbed the man arresting her and attempted an escape.

Of course, she was caught again and charged for assault and fraud, sentaced to a juvenile hall. Her time continued to be extended to a life sentence after she had attempted to escape twice, injuring two guards while doing so. She was soon transported to a women's prison, where she has stayed for the past eight years.

About a month ago, Jess managed to 'bribe' a guard into giving her a spare set of keys and calculated her escape meticulously. It was a success and she proceeded to jump from town to town, stealing and pickpocketing whatever she can. One day, she settled down to sleep on some park bench and woke up in a room surrounded by other people. How exciting.

Name: Harold Connors
Age: 19
Gender: Male
Appearance: Harold is definitely the kind to dress to impress, making sure that neckties and suit jackets are his "business casual." He is approximately 5' 8", obviously short for his age, but makes up for it with a strong, almost intimidating stature. He has light blonde hair that he makes sure to keep straight, bleached, and out of his face. Any freckles or zits on his face are always efficiently covered with proper medication or foundation. ("Yeah, I wear makeup. What about it?") His most noticeable feature is a brilliant smile that he keeps on at all times to attempt to counteract his previously stated stature. Sometimes it helps, but mostly... Hey, at least he's trying.
Personality: Harold generally tries to meet plenty of people as fast as possible. His father always told him that first impressions are the most important, and he'd rather not take the chance to screw it up. In that case, he'll certainly make the most effort to pursue a friendship early upon meeting anyone. Beyond that, he can seem somewhat absentminded, but he hasn't noticed it himself... Yet.
Strengths: His education is certainly one to envy, as his parents made sure to place him in the best boarding school they could afford. He also is very skilled at using his appearance to create inspiration or fear in others. Thus, he can easily craft himself allies or enemies when needed.
Flaws: His obvious wealth can attract unwanted attention by those who wish to use it against him, and he tends to be somewhat naïve towards them. He also has very little physical strength, agility, or any advantage of that manner.
History: Harold always has grown up in a wealthy family in Albany, New York, and as an only child, he might have grown up a tad bit spoiled, but he's tried not to let it get to his head. In boarding school, he was able to make a large group of "friends" with a combination of his wealth and social skills. (But mostly the money.) Of course, with great power comes great responsibility, as they say. His parents expected plenty of him, and as he raised his grades to increase his career options, his parents' expectations limited them simultaneously, until his prospects were lowered to high-paying lawyer, high-paying doctor, or some other high-paying job his parents hadn't thought of. It was always clear that they expected him to grow up to become rich like them.
However, their pressure seemed to push him in the entirely opposite direction. He always aspired to study creative writing and become a freelance writer. Of course, this idea was met with great objection, but Harold's parents eventually recognized his strong will and knew that he couldn't be swayed from his dreams and allowed him to study abroad in London. College, he found, was very similar to boarding school, with the same general detachment from his peers and a focus on academics. He is currently in his second year of a four year bachelor program with great grades, great "friends," and an overall great outlook on his future.

Name: Leah Carr

Age: 21

Gender: female

Appearance: Leah is willowy and tall, 5’9”. She doesn’t have much womanly curve to her and is quite flat-chested as well, but she makes up for this seeming lack of femininity with her wardrobe--she often wears light, colorful dresses and skirts. She keeps her hair down most of the time, usually draping it over one shoulder.



Personality: Leah is shy and seems cold at first, but warms up to those she trusts. She keeps to herself in unfamiliar situations, preferring to observe rather than participate. She is suspicious of anyone who openly and deliberately seeks her friendship. Her trust is hard-won and easily lost. Once lost, it is nearly impossible to get back. However, outwardly she is friendly and even bubbly--to her, it costs nothing to be nice. She believes telling someone what you really think is the sign of true friendship and trust, so to those Leah considers friends, she holds nothing back. Tact is reserved for strangers. Brutal honesty is for those you care about, because anyone who knows the real you and keeps coming back for more is someone you can trust.

Strengths: diplomatic, witty, moves gracefully, is a fair artist, observant

Flaws: paranoid, emotionally closed off, distrustful, has more “flight” than “fight” responses in tense situations

History: Leah grew up as the only child of two career-driven, inattentive parents in an upper class home in New Mexico. She was very popular at her elite private school for her friendly demeanor and natural beauty. But she found that sometimes being popular only won you the appearance of friendship--not true friendship. In her senior year of high school, her parents were out of town, so she attended a classmate’s Sunday night party, complete with underage drinking and a distinct lack of adult supervision. Her boyfriend of three weeks, Jared, had been a bit rough with her lately in their frequent make-out sessions, but Leah was naive and thought nothing of it beyond lightly smacking his shoulder when he went too far. A few hours into the party, Jared suggested they find a quiet room to hang out in, and she agreed. Both teens had been drinking, but Jared, a 6’4” quarterback, held his alcohol much better than Leah did.

Once alone in the locked room, the two inevitably starting making out--but this time, Jared took advantage of their isolation and the extremely loud music. He beat and raped Leah. Jared left the party shortly after telling people he’d just broken up with her and that they should leave her alone for a while, because she was “being bitchy about it”. Bruised and bleeding, she stumbled out of the room when she felt she could stand again and asked her best friends for a ride home. They obliged, and on the way, Leah told them what Jared had done. But her friends didn’t believe her. They thought she was lying to get back at Jared for breaking up with her. However, the girls didn’t accuse her of lying outright. Instead, they comforted her, telling her everything would be okay and that they would confront Jared with her at school the next day. Slightly consoled, when Leah arrived at home, she took a long shower in her en-suite bathroom and went to sleep under her lace canopy.

The last few months of high school were torture. Her former friends told the whole school about Leah’s “lie”, and in one night everyone had turned against her. She suffered her peers limitless, sneaky cruelty until she graduated, at which point she enrolled in an art college several states away. Painting, drawing, sketching, sculpting--every form of art she could get her hands on gave her refuge from her trauma. She hid herself from the world and retreated into paper, paint, pencils, and clay. She is currently in her junior year, pursuing an art degree.

Name: Maele Cutter

Age: 23

Gender: Female

Appearance:

Personality: Introverted, Maele tends to prefer the company of a few close friends than a large group. She can be a worrier, but tries as hard as possible to stay relaxed and roll with the punches. She tries to be friendly towards others and keep the peace, and more than anything dislikes arrogance and selfish attitudes.

Strengths: Strong imagination and eye for detail. Maele was a massive crime/mystery fan as a kid, and as such loves having a problem to solve. Having said that, sometimes she can focus a little too hard on the small things, and miss the bigger picture. She also feels that she can be a good leader (when she needs to be - it isn't something she would choose), and is decent at resolving conflict between others.

Flaws: Maele is a little slow to feel comfortable around new people, and this can make her feel fairly anxious in social situations. She is also rather introverted, and after long stints of contact with others, her mood can start to go south. However, does she tend to try and be non-confrontational whenever possible, and this means that she often bends to what others want, even if it puts her in difficult situations.

History: As an only child in a reasonably dysfunctional family, Maele formed the opinion young that you can really only rely on yourself. She got on well enough with her parents individually, but can't remember a time that they got on with each other; to her, affection and attachment seemed like something that could never last. However, she was also strongly idealistic - good things surely happened to good people, and so with this as a sort of personal motto, she set out to be the best she could.

Maele did decently in school, but seemed to only have transient friends at different stages of her life, and often these relationships ended poorly, through argument or distance. After school, unsure and unmotivated, she took a job at a local bar and just took some time to try and work out where to go from there.

At the time that this story takes place, it seems like things are starting to fall into place. She's in her first year studying Nursing at University; trying to turn that passion for good into a job, and she's also in her first serious relationship. Her plan is to get the degree and get out of here; her home in the coastal town of Newcastle, Australia, is calm and welcoming, but also boring. It's about time to move on with her life.

Name: Jekaterina Ankudinov

Age: 21

Gender: Female

Appearance:

Personality: Jekaterina is a silent, clearly depressed and resigned person. Jekaterina also likes to describe herself as uneasy, anxious, lonely, unwanted and isolated. She desperately seeks contact, but is terrified of potential rejections or bullying and rather prefer to avoid any human contact even if it hurts her in the long run. Taking into account that she has diagnosed PTSD, Avoidant Personality Disorder, Anorexia and Diogenes Syndrome combined with Bipolar second personality with Intermittent Explosive Disorder, Bulimia and Pyromaniac tendencies. Yeah, she's a mental mess. Thankfully second personality rarely if ever awakens and it only happens in extreme distress or straight up danger.

Strengths: Decent boxing ? The only hobby she ever had (or rather something her father pushed onto her). She has pretty good straight and hook punches (mostly she's counter puncher, so she relies on her opponents movement, before she hits back). That's it. She also learned how to speed read manually so she can learn something between constant abuse as fast as possible. Also she had decent talent towards languages (she learned english and polish just by listening recordings and reading books, which may be consider abnormal) and discovered 'talent' towards stealing once she reached the age of 18.

Flaws: Woohoo, where to begin. Most explained under Personality section. Add to this weak body.

History: If there was ever truly dysfunctional family, it was a family from which Jekaterina Ankudinov come from. Father police officer and amateur boxer which hided his dark disgusting secrets, which included truly aggresive behavior, alcoholism, constant verbal abuse towards his family and sexual deviancy, which unfortunately included sex violence towards his daughter, Jekaterina. Mother on the other hand was extreme drug addict combined with alcoholism, nymphomania and servant complex and complete loyalty towards her abusive husband. Constant rape, physical violence and verbal abuse practically made poor Jekaterina mental mess.

Most of her time she spended locked in her house unless she needed to move into school (a crapload of make-up was neccesary to cover her bruises). Her shy and timid personality didn't help in school as well - bullied, ridiculed and constantly called disgusting also made her obsessive over her weight and look, which started to deteriorate. She was forcefully fed just enough to survive by her parents. Plus she was manipulated and believed that her situation was 'normal', so she hided her problems or just ignored them. The only thing which she somewhat enjoyed was... boxing and reading. Her father personally when he was in good mood brought her books and trained her (or rather showed heavy hitting on her body, but it was shockingly effective way to learn, she actually had talent towards something !). Why he did it ? She had no idea. Maybe he felt merciful ? Maybe actually he felt guilty ? Or he was just bored ? She never knew. Fun thing is that she never tried to even memorize the names of her parents or the place where she was born (she remembers that she is from Russia though). She felt it was... insignificant, just like her existance.

But deep down her mind something started to grow up. Something... dark, twisted and clearly annoyed. Once she reached 18 years old, she read some books about abuse like "A Child Called It" by Dace Pelzer or "Speak" by Laurie Halse Anderson which she stole from bookstore. Suddenly she felt like her mind melted and started to be dominated by something... vicious. She knew that her life was a mess, it was unfair and mostly that she lost control over herself. She felt like someone suddenly took control over her body and decided to deal with a problem. One part of her personality was terrified, but second one felt free and clearly... aroused ? Bloodthirsty ? Furious ? Yeah, those were good words to describe her state of mind. It was like she watched situation from 3rd person perspective, it was unreal. Her body controlled by... something waited till the night, managed to tie up her parents (it wasn't too hard, they were too drunk that they felt nothing) and decided to burn everything down. Also they lived in isolated part of the forest near the village the name she doesn't even remember, which made this even easier. Once the smell of fire started to spread, her second personality enjoyed the look of fear on her parents faces. First one felt heavy guilt inside, she couldn't comprehend how this could happen, but maybe it was a chance for some change ? Gain a chance to reach some normal sort of relationship ? No... she was nothing and she knew it. And this violence proved it farther. She clearly remember the words which deep down still haunt her (although second one enjoyed it immensly).

"Burn, burn you f*****ing piece of shits ! You threated me like trash, then you will die the death of trash ! I hope you will both rot in hell, I will just join you later !"

And this was it. She left the house, waited for neighbours to move near, while laughed seeing house being burned to crisp. Once she gained control over her body, she cried, cried and cried. Police took her in, they decided that she is mentally unstable and ended up in psychiatric hospital. Slowly and slowly they tried to help her and she felt some... changes. But most ironic fact was that some arsonist decided to put fire under it. Why it happened ? She had no idea, but found it truly ironic how she would die the same way as her parents. Yeah, some part of her enjoyed this though, that was one hell of a death ! Once flames started to spread over her body, she suddenly lost consciousness and landed up in a room full of strangers. This certainly is something she didn't expect !
