Quick question. Love me some Grey Knights but they are kinda insane. Is that really an option? I'd much rather play a member of the Deathwatch but I'm just morbidly curious if you're allowing that

I might, depending on how it would be executed.

Alright I was just curious. Cause don't get me wrong they are super cool. I just feel like they are easy to abuse you know. Anyway. So any thoughts on why a Deathwatch Astartes might be on loan outside the Jericho reach? I mean i can think of a couple reasons but I'm just curious to see what you might think.

@Flagg Well, anything to not actually GM another RP; count me in.

@Themerlinhawk I'd imagine it'd be something like... "because the Inquisition asked them to."

I'd say you're probably better off without Grey Knights or too many other lone Inquisitors and their retinue, also this'd probably be a job for the Malleus and Hereticus, so I'm unsure as to why Ravenstein is a member of the Xenos? I suppose The Engine could be a Xenos artefact, so I'll reserve (the Emperor's) judgement on that for now.

Well, I'm definitely interested. I've got an idea for a retinue member/acolyte if anyone's interested in playing the inquisitor he serves under.

@JBCool

I agree about the Grey Knights. If we have one involved in the RP, it will be as a secondary character/NPC to a Malleus Inquisitor.

Also, this mission can reasonably accommodate Inquisitors/throne agents from any of the three major Ordos- it involves daemons, xenos and heretics. Also, the True Engine is a xenos artifact.

Well, I'm definitely interested. I've got an idea for a retinue member/acolyte if anyone's interested in playing the inquisitor he serves under.

Great! You're more than welcome to serve in the retinue of Lord von Ravenstein if he seems to be the kind of dude you'd like to work for (CS forthcoming). If not, there will be other inquisitors in the mix hopefully!

@FlaggSo I'm thinking maybe the Character is a member of the Dead Cabal and maybe he's on lone from Inquisitor Ramaeus because she suspects the True Engine might have something to do with the dark pattern (This is wildly not the case I'd assume but when you have inquisitors running around looking for a xenos artifact of unknown specification, it never hurts to be safe.) Thoughts?

That would be fine, I suppose, but I don't really see the need for him to be involved in the Dead Cabal if he's a Deathwatch marine anyway. I guess my point is I'd rather leave canon characters out of it if possible?

@FlaggWell thats fine if we leave cannon characters out I just think it adds neat flavor to him since they tend to be involved with the REALLY crazy stuff as opposed to the just moderately crazy stuff

Hello, per the other interest check, I was exploring the possibility of a member of the Deathwatch from one of the chapters not traditionally associated with the Inquisition or the Deathwatch, with the attendant political baggage. I was reading up a bit and Ordo Xenos inquisitors from the more radical factions apparently favor arrangements with these chapters; in essence, the Inquisitor is covering their back with a Space Marine and the Space Marines are covering their backs with political favors from an Inquisitor.

I have a lot of chapters in mind, all of them non-traditional and with baggage and secrets, as I think that the chapter's political machinations, insofar as they exist, need to be tossed in the pot here.

Sounds great. Would work well with my character, at least, who is decidedly non-traditional. What did you have in mind specifically?

@FlaggLet me know if anything needs changed or edited!

Name: Alexei Malakhov

Age: 30

Gender: Male

Role: Retinue Member under Von Ravenstein

Ordos: Xenos

Appearance: Alexei is a gruff, crude, vicious man both externally and internally. His hair is chopped at the regulation 2 inches for penal regiments, with an equally-short stubble beard across his face. His eyes are a thick, murky grey, with a scar running almost across his left eye, and down his face. His athletic form is covered in scars from almost twelve years of non-stop combat, and his back is a tattoo, inscribing the Blessing of the Emperor’s Benediction in his native Valhallan. He wears mainly scavenged clothing and armor from his years in the Savlar 10th, with his main outfit consisting of a patched-up cadian khaki fatigue set, several scavenged bits of flak and carapace armor, and a Valhallan armored ushanka cap.

History/Personality Combo Story:

Philosophy: Radical, primarily interested in the fields of Xeno technology, mainly weaponry and battlefield equipment

Skills & Abilities: Alexei is a genious when it comes to machinery and technology, having spent his years in the 101st Valhallan Mechanized infantry and the 10th Savlar Penal as a combat engineer and tech worker. He has illegal knowledge of the workings of several Xenos firearms, gadgets and light vehicles, namely those of the Tau and Eldar, and knows how to use the ramshackle weapons of the orks without said weapons lethally breaking. He’s also a skilled shot with Imperial-made weapons, and even has rudimentary piloting skills for the Chimera and Leman Russ tanks. He has even obtained a basic understanding of the Eldar language

Equipment: He carries the lasgun model commonly used by Valhallans, a revolver pistol with the name ‘F. Karamazov’ engraved along the pommel(He claims it was a gift from a friend, no records on how he obtained this), a microbead communications device, canteen, 2 frag grenades, an engineering and electrician toolkit, The Uplifting Primer, and his own handwritten notebook describing Xeno technology he has encountered, written in backwards Valhallan, to ensure almost no one can read it but him.

Miscellaneous: He wears an aquila pendant around his neck, with the Valhallan text “Император защищает” or “The Emperor Protects” in Gothic.

Relationships with Other Characters: Retinue member under Inquisitor Anathagos Von Ravenstein
