@Kejmur Hmm that is a very simplistic system. I think I may try that. I can at least use it as a format when working on everyone's characters with them. Speaking of which, what characters are people thinking of playing as? I'd like to have a diverse cast, but player freedom is more important.

@LokiLeo789 I'm glad to see your interest! What kind of character would you be interested in playing?

If anyone would like, they can PM me a character sheet. You don't have to worry about stats at the moment, but you can give me some character background- how you'd like your character to develop, their class, their race, their personality, etc. Thanks!

Here is a political map of Valenndale showing some important areas on the continent. It's populated mostly by Elves (High, Dark, and Wood) and Humans. The orange coloring highlights an alliance of city-states that border the 'Dales' or Elven territory (highlighted in gold).

Here is the political map for High Mist. This continent is populated mostly by Orcs (the magenta coloring), Gnomes (the tan and charcoal coloring) and Tieflings (the red coloring). Additionally there are small populations of human, elven, and half-elven slaves taken from The Fleeting Isles.

@LokiLeo789 Awesome, so you'd be interested in Orcish nobility? The Orcs in this world are a bit different. While they are independent tribes- they all are somewhat allied currently. Perhaps your character could work towards creating an Orcish empire even after the need for an alliance is over? Additionally, I should mention that Orcish culture (in this world at least) is heavily inspired by Aztec (and ancient meso-american) culture.

Not necessarily Nobility, but more or less yes, exactly what I wish to do.

Thank you! To answer your question, yes, Dark Elves are often subject to chattel slavery in High Elven cities. There are some Wood Elf encampments that will accept Dark Elves, but even they tend to be weary. Unfortunately for the dark elves- life is pretty tough for them in most places.

Alright, awesome! We can definitely work with that! You're thinking of big changes, which is good. I want the party to affect the world in huge ways.

You know this seems interesting and lately I have been wanting to try a D&D type thing. If it wouldn't be any trouble I'd like to throw my hat into the ring

No trouble at all! We'd love to have you! Any idea what kind of character you'd want to play?

@Famotill At this moment I'm not too sure yet, I'm flexible. However if it would work in somehow a City Guard might be interesting. I think morals could cause conflict in the party and that could be neat.

@thegreenleafe A city guard would be great! We'd have to figure out how your character ends up in prison, but I think this would be a pretty interesting character dynamic. If you have any questions, feel free to PM me or let me know here.

Sweet thanks and would it be preferable if the Guard was in jail for crimes? I personally think that the guard being pushed together with prisoners and being forced to cooperate might make for good character arcs.

It's up to the players exactly how they get there. Perhaps your character could be framed, or is somehow forced to work alongside of the other characters.

Sounds good, and if you have any questions/things you want to run by me shoot me a PM. I'm guessing your character would be a city guard in Ardent's Fall? I can give you some lore for the city and whatnot as well. Given that your character would probably be pretty familiar with the city.

Just for anyone still interested, this RP is still open. I'll probably be capping it once I get some solid character sheets, but for now I'd love to hear from anyone interest who may have some ideas.

@Famotill
Why am I so attracted to this? Must be magic of some sort.

Moving on! I love the idea of high fantasy and you clearly have a lot figured out (The amazing maps for example). I also like the idea of the rarity of mages. Not everybody can level a city with a good smile.

So I was thinking about some sort of magic user. Something like a novice summoner. He didn't get into magic by choice but was forced into it. I usually like necromancy or something like that but I'm flexible.

If not that guy, then I would have a few other ideas. I am definitely interested.

Thank you so much for your interest!

Necromancy could certainly work. What race would your character be? Most human cities, nations, and other municipalities are pretty strict with magic. You could definitely be a human, but in places like Carthus and the city states in Valenndale- you'd be a rogue mage as necromancy is a forbidden magic. In Penult, it's a bit different though. Perhaps your character could be from there if they are human? Elven societies are far more lenient with magic, and while necromancy is still technically illegal- it's not enforced heavily. Any mages that take up forbidden magics in Orcish society are forced to serve as soldiers (there are people who flee from this). The Dwarves through all of Ithea are similar to humans, but often times dwarven mages must seek out teaching in other societies anyway. Lastly, Gnomes forbid necromancy (and even some healing magics) because there is limited amounts of space in their underground cities.

There are always outliers and exceptions. I can be pretty flexible so feel free to PM me with what you're looking for character-wise. Glad to have you!

Here's the political map for Penult! The red represents a human nation, while the white represents a Dwarven Kingdom. The orange coloring represents the Wilds a place where nomadic Dark Elves roam. The yellow area represents an Elven colony under rule from the mainland Elven kingdom in Valenndale.
