I'm starting to feel like I may be a bit small; I'm so much smaller than a lot of the other players and I was more going for an average sized kingdom. I may change my map claim, to be honest.

Good thinking; I was going to suggest you bump up your claim, in fact. I was hoping that most of the Fiorentian half would be claimed so we wouldn't have to worry about blank space and miniscule NPC states.

Is this good? Or should I claim more of the river branch to the east?

EDIT: And I do have a question about the Church. Are there Saints other than the one big Prophet sort of Saint? And what would one need to do to become a Saint? I'm asking for my history section.

That looks better; if you're going to set up shop there, you may as well stretch the west all the way to the coastline, and the south border right up next to to Mille-Sessau.

@Theodorable
We can share a dynasty. They can be mutual friends too, but remember that Idorica's reconquest took place slowly, over the span of centuries. The most dramatic moments happened in the last couple centuries of it. It would mean the Sessauans would have made quite a commitment if they were allies throughout it.

The Sessauan dynasty's lineage is the "de Salle," lineage, though it need not necessarily be named the same if you don't wish it so, but it would be make the Idoricans enamored allies if they had a "de Salle" on the throne. We could say the Sessauans gave the Idoricans materiel assistance up until the last 50 or so years when they sent a small army to ensure the Idorican nation's existence against the last fledgling Timluk presence?

Fiorentino is the "First Saint" and God's chosen spokesman. So he is the first of them; there can be plenty others. Some are purported to have written bits of the Fiorentinan gospel and followed him around.

You can be made a saint in most ways you could expect to become one in real Christianity; healing the sick, halting a massive plague, writing significant scriptures, leading a successful crusade, maybe be a Joan of Arc-type figure and have your 'visions' lead to great victories, dying a martyr, etc.

Roman Catholicism has more than 10,000 canon saints, so you can make up your own and give them their own quirky stories without much difficulty. Looking at these 'real' saints for inspiration can help!

Alright, I extended it to the coast and I got the cities placed so it's final I suppose.

And hey @Theodorable, looks like we're neighbours now. So, do you want to discuss some shared history?

Ah, cool. I was planning on my dynasty's founder to have been declared a Saint at some point. "The Crown of Saint Aloysius" sounds fancy, does it not? Perhaps having 'visions' that lead one to declaring a victorious peasant uprising that results in the overthrowing of a corrupt, decadent, and ungodly King would be good enough. Since it being founded by the leader of a peasant revolt who overthrew the King and executed him, his two sons, and brother by fire before being crowned King is a definite for me. It's why I chose the coat of arms I did and named the capital Kinnekdrelaps (according to Google Translate Kinnek d'Relaps is Luxembourgish for King's Pyre).

It all sounds good to me.

I never got an answer, I guess because I didn't tag you, but was there an ancient empire that a lot of Antova was once ruled by, or are our countries origins more disparate?

Sorry, that managed to slip my notice! I was thinking about something like that; I was going to leave it mostly to player collaboration, but it would make sense to have had an all-encompassing empire in antiquity, considering our shared culture.

If anyone's wiling to volunteer to play the remnants of said empire, I'm game to hear you out; perhaps your kingdom is all that remains of the core states, with the rest of Antova's kingdoms once having been provinces. The other option is for the pontifical capital to be that remnant.

Here's the political map of the claims so far. I've tried to reproduce the borders as faithfully as I can. There's plenty of space left next to Ardäin, Aldmeria and Vohemia for newcomers. I plan to update the map with everyone's capitals and significant cities in due time, as well as make the borders of the Timluk Sultanates and other minor peoples.

OOC will be up before tomorrow!

Might as well; I'm curious to see what you've got, and adding it now could rid us of claim disputes if someone else chooses the same area.
