Welcome to the Elemental Academy IC

The academy is defined as the pinnacle of harmony and peace to those who have come and gone from this world. Those taught speak of it as a shining example of tolerance and understanding, a home for the soul. Your thoughts carry on in the famed halls long after you have graduated. The laughter of children and adults alike are the music that follows you down every hall. Branching from this school is a small city, the labor of thousands turned to beauty. Styles and architecture from around the world are scattered through its bustling streets.
Every last soul can feel the undeniable thrum of power and energy released from their neighbors, from the river flowing through the city, from the rustle of the wind billowing through the forest canopy, and the sun peaking over the tip of the mountain, as it has done every day.

The city has no name. Nobody has tried to name something so unique, and thus it has always been referred to as 'the academy'. All who have the gift or respect the ways of nature are welcome to this home with open arms. Those who prefer seclusion have found homes on and around the mountain, some even claim the cave systems as their home with a bustling community thriving even there.
Technology has been limited but not by a wide margin. People own computers, television sets, cellphones. Electricity is readily available thanks to the contributions of the Techmentals. Generators made from the modern methods have been fitted with a powerful core, a secret refinement technique developed by the first generation of Techmentals nearly five decades ago that triggered an explosive burst of growth to the community as the way of life reached another plateau in their way of life.
From that point on the march of progress from the outside worlds influence, experienced builders, craftsmen, anything under the sun, changed the wooden thatch-roofed homes into concrete buildings of beauty. Every aspect of life changed to better suit the modern ages.

But at its core is the keen respect for our mother earth and her beauty. Many aspects of life, like plumbing and running water, have been developed in the same harmonious way the town was constructed. Elementals made way for the march of man willingly, content to become part of something greater. To allow growth of those who praise every grain of sand and every blade of grass.

It is at this town the students are settled. Temporary housing was given to new arrivals from the lands far away and fed with kindness and affection, ever eager to aid the next generation in their new adventure through the academy. These Men and Women offer to the first years bits of advice over etiquette, attire, healthy eating, and the ever constant reminder to feel the pulse of their new home and join it. To be in synch with that feeling of connection to the mountain rising high into the sky.
The rules of the village are simple to understand and mirror the outside world similarily.

Theft or vandalism is treated as an exileable offence.
You are not to wander far from the city without someone of authority knowing. For your own safety.
The mountain is home to wild life just like the forest. Be respectful to its denizens.
Use of elemental powers is prohibited in excessive levels outside of the school grounds. (accidents happen)

The first day of the academy begins with the third strike of the bell echoing down the mountainside at 9am sharp. All students are told to be dressed and presentable in whatever clothes they find comfortable, and make their way to the first floor of the academy. This will be for only the new first year students.
Second years and above attend classes later in the evening as a larger group.

Kano Hargor

The academy houses every teacher in a separate wing of its grounds. Privacy was held as a distinctly important aspect of personal life and was treated as such, with accommodations made to teachers to optimize comfort. Some teachers raised their families on school grounds as well, creating a tiny community separated from the township. Though teachers often visited outside the grounds for food or entertainment, or just to enjoy the ambiance.

It is in one such room we find one of the two Headmasters of the academy.

Miles below the chambers that had been crafted into tunnels and caverns for the students sits a door molded from stone and crystal. The shining gleam of the polished stone reflect the faintest of light and multiply it, making it easy to spot even in pitch black. The smooth stone features depictions of a great serpentine dragon bowing to the image of a sparkling lake made of crystals, the dragons great body spiraling around it over the entirety of the door. A single eye of the beast is open, with a deep ocean blue color to the stones. The other eye is closed save for a tiny sliver. Within it lays a patch of darkness so thick it is often rumored to be a window into the abyss.

Beyond those doors is not a cathedral to the gods, not a shrine to the elements, nor even a furnished office. It is a small room with no furniture or natural light. The ceiling is raised high with a natural waterfall flowing in from every corner and wall to cascade down into a shallow pit with just enough space for the water to flow out into the underground rivers without overflowing onto the rocky walkway that dominates the room. The floor is uneven, jagged, and unnatural.

Kano stood on the uneven ground staring into the nothingness of the room. The only sound was the flowing water in its endless cycle. It is in this chamber that the memories of the past find their way back into his mind after being forgotten for so long. Kano raised his right hand and offered it to the darkness as one would offer it to a dance partner.
The change in atmosphere was subtle at first. The water no longer drained out of the room as quickly, a trickle of the water flowing up steadily until it many minutes later as it crested the jagged walkway. Higher it rose, flooding the rooms floor until it reached the right level. Kanos will struck the water like a hammer, freezing the walkway in an instant. The water was perfectly smooth and level, the excess water returned to the shallow pools at both sides of the room as always to continue the cycle.
His left hand shot up into the air above his head and a series of torches set in sconces along the walkway burst into flaming life at his command. One of the few ways of fire he had ever been able to learn, and with great assistance of his life long friend.

Left hand resting at his side and right hand still extended, Kano waited. "Care to have one more dance?" He whispered to the empty room.

The waters flowed of their own accord onto the shimmering ice floor, the black unworked stones meshed perfectly with the crystal blue ice to create a breathtaking scene of natural beauty. The rushing water coalesced at the will of an unknown force, shaping itself to the image of a woman Kano remembered fondly. This phenomenon was the work of a spirit of elemental water that had bonded with Kanos soul thousands of years ago, learning his every thought and feeling. When the water settled, it had taken the replicated body and face of his wife.

Kano had witnessed this every day for a decade now. But the image of his wife never failed to break his heart. The lips moved as the water sprite moved to take his hand, but no words escaped its form. But Kano knew that she had accepted his offer. Hand in hand they moved together in tandom, the floor was their stage as the two moved about the room in a slow but intimate waltz. Kano lost himself in the memories that the sprite imparted to him as they danced in the fading light of the torches. In his mind he stood with the flesh and blood wife he had loved in life even as his body repeated the swings and strides with the manifestation of his thoughts.
At the crescendo of his silent dance he leaned forward and placed his lips upon the elemental.

As it had done a thousand times before, the moment his tranced ended, the image ceased to be. The image of her faded away into a dripping puddle on the cold floor.

Kanos roar of anger shattered the ice at his feet in a shower of explosive shards, showering the walls with jagged fragments to tear and chip the walls as they had done so many times. On his knees, face buried in his hands, Kano could shed no tears. No matter how many times he tried there was no way for him to do something so basic and human anymore. Outraged, he slams both hands into the sharpened stone floor only to have them explode in a shower of water and reform moments later as they had been mere seconds ago.

"Why must I relive this.. Why do you make me remember."

The spirits in the room as they always did, never bothered to reply. In a mood as black as the room had become, Kano stood and left the room. The great serpentine door slamming shut behind him to await his inevitable return.

High atop the roof of the Academy Kano watched the town come to life with the rise of the sun. His mood vanished at the sight of prosperity his home had come by. Yet it felt empty to him. Raising both his hands into the air he called out with his will to the flowing streams and rivers that criss-crossed the town, creating long flowing strands of water to rise into the air at his command. Like snakes they flowed high into the sky into a giant ball of water over the academy grounds for all to see. Even from the edge of the village you could see the water twist and turn until finally it took a recognizable shape.

In his hands was a rose made of ice, the exact details of the rose were perfect from top to bottom as Kano observed it. Above him was a colossal replica of the rose he held in full bloom.

"I make this again for you, beloved. Even in death you are everything to me. You were more than anyone could have asked for.." Kano took a deep breath and gently blew on the frozen rose, its features breaking off into flakes that carried on the wind. High above, the colossal rose likewise crumbled and the tiny glittering fragments carried far off on the wind. "Until next time, my Sky Flower."

As the fleeting image of the rose faded into the daylight sun, Kano proceeded down the stairs. It was time to greet the new arrivals.

Headmaster

As the dawn broke the day, Headmaster was standing at the top floor of the tallest tower which was usually reserved for the wind classes. It had no walls and no roof, allowing for the true essence of air to flow through and envelop the visitors of the domain. He inhaled deeply and then exhaled. "Ah... truly there's nothing better at light's first break than to feel the crisp morning air flow through my body." Despite being a fire user, oxygen was a key component to his power. The better you breathe the better your circulation, which in turn increases the amount of power you can control. He walked to the edge of the platform, staring down at the ground far below. However...

"I think I would enjoy a lovely swim." Headmaster said aloud, to the whopping nobody who was listening. He looked at the deep lake near the tower, backing away from the ledge. He took a running start and leapt off, bringing his hands together above his head like a knife blade, he directed himself towards the lake, he dove in with a great splash, threatening to drown the schoolgrounds were it not for the nature of the water within the lake, seeming to almost hit an invisible wall 10 feet out from the lake, and rapidly draining back into the lake. He adjusted onto his back and began to do the backstroke, continuing this for multiple laps before he flipped back over and grabbed the edge of the lake, pulling his large body out of the water. Water dripped off his now-soaked dark red suit.

"Ah... the new students will be arriving today. I should go prepare to greet them!" He made his way over to the grand entrance to the school, and through the long winding corridors back up to his office. He changed out of his suit and hung it up to dry, into an identical suit in the exact same colour. He made his way back down, running into his dear friend Kano. He was aware of the pain he went through daily, and gripped him on the shoulder. "Are you feeling up to this, old friend? I can greet the students alone if you wish to retire to your room to recover."

Markus was walking towards grounds carrying a backpack full of school supplies and a suitcase filled with his cloths although seeing the town nearby he might not have needed the suitcase. This was his first endeavor on his own, his mother told him all about the academy and how it changed her life.

Soon he he saw who could only be the headmaster and his assistant from the way they hold themselves it seems like the headmaster was the nice one but markus couldn't tell anything from the guy next to him other then he was sad. hi names markus nice to meet you guys, so where do I go as a first year?" markus asked with a smile on his face and sparks flying in his necklace

Emi

Still half drowsy the pinked haired girl wandered to school. She was wearing a white no sleeved blouse that could be opened and closed by some buttons. Furthermore some plain shorts and some sneakers were also worn by the girl finished with a brown duffle bag wrapped onto her shoulders. Her arms were hanging in front of her body as she was slightly bend over from sleepiness. Emi was walking towards her new school where she got accepted a few months back. It might not have looked like it at the moment but she felt quite hyped about being accepted into the school of her dreams. Her parents graduated there and even the parents of her parents graduated from the school. They had all become powerful elementalists so it was certainly a recommendation. Not only was she gonna study at the place but also stay overnight in the well known dorms of the academy.

The sun slowly peeked over the mountain displaying that it was another brand new day of activity and that new things were gonna be learned. As the sun warmed Emi her body she rose her hands up in the sky to stretch her entire body.

"Praise the sun, another new day full of vitamin D!"

She did some stretching moves herself on the middle of the sidewalk to warm her body up. She had already started to look a little more energized after meeting the sun on this beautiful day. People had started staring at her but she didn't really care. They would often stare at her odd behaviour but she had already gotten used to it pretty much. Emi began walking again with a somewhat satisfied face heading towards the school again.

Once at the gate she hummed a little as she gazed around looking at all the different building and such the campus had in its property. It looked really open and big with all sorts of fun places to explore like a garden a central area and the fire temple which looked quite interesting to Emi. Furthermore the giant tower in the middle wasn't to be missed either. Just as she looked up something magnificent was happening above her. A giant ice flower was displayed above the school pulling all the faces of the students towards it. Through hearing it from the other students Emi knew it was the headmaster's doing. Emi and the other students came to know the great and amazing power of the headmaster. The graceful rose exploded into a million pieces and rained down over the academy. A sight that couldn't be filmed was displayed in front of Emi her own eyes. She was truly happy to have enrolled here. If she was lucky she might even be able to meet the headmaster personally. He must be a wonderful person that he let his students experience this sight.

Emi smiled and continued walking looking at all the others knowing that they felt the same way as her. Now the next thing would be too... Wait what was she suppose to do? Just wait till something happened? The letter didn't say anything about what they were suppose to do after the arrived. Emi looked worried for a moment but shrugged. She had to enjoy it, the headmaster didn't give her such a view for nothing.

"Wish I can experience this everyday."

@liferusher

It was just about 8am when Luke opened his eyes, he was just an hour away from his first year of the 'Elemental Academy' and while he had heard much about it from his Uncle, who desperately tried to give Luke as much information as he could. Apparently his Uncle was a student there once, but was the most average, and slow student there, in a very similar way that Luke was. He would have tried to call his Uncle once more, but there was some sort of bad reception and couldn't at this time.

Luke got up and did his daily rituals, he lazily, and slowly walked into his bathroom. He glanced at his face face on the mirror, more worries and exasperated than he thought it would be. He tried to calm himself down before continuing. He brushed his teeth slowly and meticulously, in such a way that it took longer than normal. As he turned towards the showerhead, it appeared to not be working. With a shiftless smile he tried manipulating the water inside it, and after a while it started pouring out. Luke has, atleast he thinks, acceptional control of his 'gift', he doesn't think he's better than the average Water users. Although his Uncle thinks otherwise.

After the bath he placed a comfortable shirt on, and a gray-ish hoodie. A black bag was found slung over his shoulders, in it the most basic necesseties. Finally he reached for his phone and plugged in his earphones into the jack, beginning to listen to music. With a sigh, he left his room, locking it behind him. As soon as he stepped out, he could feel waters all over this 'town' being gathered, particularly towards the top of the school building. It seemed to form an ice flower of sorts. He was awed at the accuracy, power and control. Luke squinted and noticed the fine and intricate details. Surely a man to be revered.

It was about 8:45am when he arrived at the gate of the school. He sincerely had no idea what to do, his uncle didn't even tell him what to do after arriving, so he assumed he had to wait. He walked through the gates, and eyeing the garden which looked to be a comfortable place to wait. As he passed he heard the silent whispers amongst what he assumed to be his peers,

"Is that guy with the hood from the Thames family?"
"I heard he got exiled for doing something treacherous."
"Something about using his powers for his own good."
"Yeah, let's just stay away."

It seems like the rumors, that Luke was almost certain that his own family spread probably to make his academic life worse for wear, had reached far and wide. Even though this town was miles upon miles away. He shot himself a solemn smile before pretending to not have heard what they said. He thought nothing of it and spouted a 'Whatever.' He preferred silence and solitude anyway, however he did not like bringing himself any sort of attention, so he now pulled up his hood to his head in an attempt to hide himself. His pushed his glasses inwards, leaning back on a tree in the garden, waiting for something to happen.

Whilst looking around for more notable students, two had caught his eye. One with an odd necklace, and the other with white hair and purple eyes. Sure are some colorful people in his peer group. Maybe this'll be fun, maybe not. Earlier he also noticed the water training grounds, and his interest was piqued, for some reason he was drawn towards it, but chose to ignore the feeling for now. He thought these thoughts before leaning back on the hard tree once more and looking upwards at the rising skies.

Madison

She hated early mornings. It was a drag to get out of bed, but she forced herself by kicking the covers off and lazily making her way to the bathroom. Madison wondered what her teachers would be like. More importantly, her fellow classmates. She sighed at the thought of having to introduce herself in front of the class. But who knows, maybe it wouldn't come down to that, or at least that's what she hoped.

When she was done, Madison got dressed and headed out. She was wearing a black short-sleeve dress, which fell all the way down to her ankles, and white sneakers. Her hair was loose and as she had no desire to style it in any one particular way, and she wore her favorite red lipstick for good luck. Not that she was superstitious, but she liked the color nonetheless.

As she made her way across school grounds, Madison started analyzing the other students to see what she was in for. The majority of them looked friendly enough, but she also spotted others she could avoid and be better off without knowing. As she got closer to the entrance, she noticed two individuals who she assumed to be teachers. Or maybe one of them was the headmaster? That seemed to be a more fitting position for him. She stopped for a second, suddenly realizing that she was hungry as she had skipped breakfast. Madison reached into her backpack and fetched an apple out of the ziploc bag. As she took her first bite, she made her way to a bench to quickly eat the apple before it was too late.

Eria A. Grandous

"Elementalist Academy, wow...." Eria said under her breath as she walked though the courtyard with her camera at the ready. She had just arrived on the campus about half an hour earlier and has already seen her fellow underclassmen trying to show off their control of the elements. There were students that rose seats and tables from the ground for all their friends, while others were doing petty parlour tricks with the more flashy elements such as light and fire. Eria walked around and she could literally see the Aether radiating off of the other students and although some had more than others it was nowhere near the amount that was surrounding her in what looked more like a swirling cloud of multiple colors that swirled above her head, invisible to any but her and certain people.

The few people that caught Eria's eye had their photo's taken, both with her photographic memory and with her Camera as a back-up. "These people are pretty talented" Eria said to herself as she walked past a kid who was balancing a ball of light in each hand and on his head. She walked through the courtyard towards the main area of the school.

"I wonder why Grandfather told me to watch out for one of the Headmasters?" she asked herself as she stopped for a second to ponder before shrugging and continuing her cataloging excursion through the school courtyard. Eria was personally loving the whole area and the feeling of all the lively people in the close proximity. The aether in the area was keeping her topped off and full of energy to spare.

Samuel Watson

"Elemental Academy... I can't wait!" Samuel said with a smile as he opened the door, letting the cold air wash into the room with the morning sun still set behind the horizons and the swarm of underclassmen haven't started yet. Walking out to the courtyard he saw a few students already there at this ridiculous time of day like himself, but he had something else to do in the meanwhile. Being several hours early, the time for the assembly wouldn't be anywhere near soon and took the chance to exercise. With his daily ritual of getting ready in the morning mostly done, he left the school grounds as he began jogging simply around the general area on the trail that he systematically worked out for each week. Taking his time as he enjoyed the morning dew littered on the grass, trees and plants everywhere it was a chilly morning around 5 am with the morning sun's touch haven't dispelled the coldest of night yet. He mentally ushered himself to hurry along the path so he could finish so he could come back to his room and wash himself after the exercise...

It would only take about hour to jog around the perimeter of the academy, sometimes going over small hills or ducking behind small mountains which were a hassle to go over and simply unreasonable as well. Coming back to his room, he took a shower once more and redressed himself into more suitable clothes that would be needed for the day. Exiting his room once again after he spent a hour getting ready once more, heading to the courtyard once more now with more students filling in the area. The morning sun now risen and piercing the cold and removing the chills from the air. Looking at each of the students and the group of students who have already conjugated into their own little groupies. Making a mental reminder to control his own powers, closing his eyes as he focused internally refocusing himself as he saw the tiny flame within him that was too small to be really felt for any element. Too weak to be felt and its aura too 'neutral' to align to any element with the exception of his focusing crystal what would solidify his elemental alignment as Light.

Taking his first step, he remembered Headmaster Kano's teaching about how to control his powers since he was unique in his own case, as his understanding of his own powers radiate subtly whether he wanted it to or not. Withdrawing his powers into himself came with the effect of absorbing ambient impurities in the air and cleansed it in the surrounding area in negligible amounts with each step he took. Being absorbed within himself hence the need of his crystal given to him which helped with a portion of the task, it would make him sick like he was when he was younger, and in exchange hid his elemental affinity completely but with daily rest to release his tension he would be fine. It was simply just his nature to absorb things within himself ever since he was a child, now his body was capable of doing so from the air around him as it tangled the taint to himself and expelled clean energy out. Nevertheless, his daily cleansing would send near unnoticeable ripples through the air as he changed it, but only the sharpest or most sensitive could feel these minuscule changes in the present. Ten years of lingering around the academy however has definitely changed the place now from what it was a decade ago if reminiscing.

However now, it was totally different with students from all over showing off what they could do, Samuel on the other hand simply watched in... awe really as he never gotten to talk to kids of his age for long unless his father spent more time in a specific place. Being generally raised to be respectful when talking to adults since they were his father's clients mostly whomever they were, his childish mind at the time never questioned it. Either way, he simply sat down on a bench as he watched everyone else content to watch the open display of magic from everyone else as it littered the clean atmosphere with a mystical tone like every year at this time. Remembering the years of the first years as a child every time they came, leaving a certain taste or feeling to the air that remained for several days from the large show-and-tell they had with themselves. Now he could be part of the big event that he had seen each year of his life that he spent here at the academy...

A few of his peers caught his eye with one student and another creating some explosions with their elements of wind and fire, or a beautiful spectacle of ice and snow with another pair who looked like siblings. With these sights to see, Samuel was excited to see what else the year would bring to him now that he was watching everything from the inside of things.

Natalie Redgrave

Natalie awoke minutes before the break of dawn, turns out you can take the girl out of country but you can't take country out of the girl. She sat herself up, the crisp white sheets, foreign sheets, falling to her waist. This was new, this was foreign. She seemed to take in every piece of difference in the room. The way the shadows fell differently on the carpeted, not wooden, floorboards. The way the pillows were a little to high under her head and the bed was a little too soft. This was the first time she'd slept away from her property, ever. With a yawn Natalie rubbed the sleep from her eyes and was practically ready to ready herself for the day. This day full of firsts.

The teen found her way to the kitchen of the small house, that wasn't so hard to find. It was the lightswitch, however, that made it a game of hide-and-seek. She had arrived at her grandmother's house only the evening prior and was still finding her way around. She finally found that blasted switch and turned on the light, it flooded into the kitchen. With a few blinks her eyes adjusted quickly, almost like a normal morning.

Time passed and Natalie had seemed to lose herself standing alone in the tiny backyard. She was not at all used to having so little outdoor space but it was better than nothing, right? Despite the lack of space it was a beautiful day and the earlier sunset had been gorgeous. The sun feel upon the Earth, illuminating it while a light breeze flew through the air, sweeping Natalie's cheeks. Her platinum blonde hair was unbound yet not thin enough for the breeze to lift, that was when her grandmother open the door to the yard and gave her granddaughter a smile.

"What were you doing up at such an ungodly hour?" She asks, staying put at the door.
"Turns out you really can't take the country outta the girl," Natalie replies, returning the smile her grandmother gave her with one of her own, before planting a kiss on her cheek accompanied by a "Morning Nan,"
"Now you better be getting yourself to school, young lady. You don't want to be late on your first day! Are you sure you're alright going by yourself?"
"I'm sure, nan, don't worry yourself," she smiles, "I'll see you after school, 'Kay?" and with that she bounded inside to collect her bag before setting off for school.

Standing in front of the large building it all became real for Natalie, her? Go to an actual proper school? She wouldn't have thought it! At least most of the other student would have experience going to a proper school but all the farm girl had was a computer, a headset and her textbooks. The only time she'd been in a school was when she travelled out to the nearest town to do major exams and that was it. She walked around the grounds taking in the sights, she had no idea where to go and saw another teen, this one male, speaking to two men who seemed to be the headmasters from the description Natalie's mother had given her. She approached them, perhaps they would point her in the right direction. Upon approaching them she heard the other teens inquiry, much like the one she was going to make.
"Hi, I'm sorry to interupt, but we exactly are we supposed to meet? I'm told first floor but is there a particular spot there where we meet?"

Emi

A rather peculiar person had passed by her quite closely. He didn't seem out of odrinary at all but still she got the vague idea something was up with him. She pretended not to notice him at first but would stay close by the place Luke was stationed at for the moment.

It wasn't untill later that she heard all the hate comments thrown at a guy with a crest that resembled the Thames family. She glanced around but she already knew who they were talking about. Something definitely was up with him.

"How nostalgic."

Emi smiled again and bundled her hands behind her back as she indirectly made her way over towards the boy. From the side she snuck around and slowly walked in front of Luke with her hands still on her back. She gave a sweet smile at the boy and greeted him.

"Hello my name is Emi Akemi, it's a pleasure to meet you."

She stood on her heels and poked out her hand at him to greet him with a handshake. Her feet went flat onto the ground again as her sweet expression dropped to a more concerned one.

"You alright? They don't seem very fond of you do they?"

She tilted her head slightly after asking and had a pondering finger against her chin while the other hand was still behind her back. Her sweet smile returned however after she decided that she did not want to drop the mood dramatically.

"Well whatever, would you mind sitting in the sun with me? I have some books, so if you are bored we could perhaps read or just chat. That would be fine too actually."

Emi already had grabbed hold of his hand and started pulling him lightly from beneat the tree to get some tan in the beatifull sun of today. He didn't really look like the outdoors type but she didn't care. Her parents told her that her pushing personality would help her get some friends perhaps so she had to try at least. If she wouldn't try she might end up the whole year alone and perhaps after that too. That would be a terrible high school girl life!

@liferusher

Even after he had tried to rid his presence, he could still feel the off-glances and stares at him. Some whispers words of rumors, others of disgust. Luke's families has it's hands everywhere. At this point, Luke thought he would have built up a thick skin by now, but not just quite yet. On the surface he exuded a face of apathy, but deep down he knows he gets slightly affected.

He scrunched up his posture tighter, and just closed his eyes to try and focus on the music. With his open ear he heard a feminine voice call out to someone,

"Hello my name is Emi Akemi, it's a pleasure to meet you."

Luke looked upwards once more, a girl with white hair and purple eyes appeared to be talking to him. He noticed this girl earlier, as Luke mentally noted her to be, well, notable. Before he replied, he looked left and right, because Luke thought she was talking to someone else. Clearly not however.

"Uhh- Hell- Hello."
he replied to the girl, Emi Akemi, who also smiled brightly at him with her hands behind her back. He had a confused expression, but unconsciously switched his expression to a soft and light hearted smile.
"I'm... I'm Luke Jared Thames."

"You alright? They don't seem very fond of you do they?"

Luke returned her, rather, tight handshake.
"Nah, it's honestly not their fault."
Luke said, looking around once more, they were whispering again, probably associating her with him in some way.

"You seem like a nice person. But I wouldn't hang out with me, I mean look."
Luke's smile became slightly bitter, he tilted his head to the left to point out the whispering crowd.
"They're beginning to associate me with you, so if you don't want a bad reputa-"

The awkward handshake that wasn't released was tugged at by Emi. She began pulling him out from beneath the tree.

"Well whatever, would you mind sitting in the sun with me? I have some books, so if you are bored we could perhaps read or just chat. That would be fine too actually."

Luke just noticed that she never released the handshake apparently, a light red blemishing on his face momentarily before disappearing. His uncle never taught him how to refuse, let alone refuse girls, stating that you should always listen to and heed them. His glasses begen sliding off slightly before being pushed back into place with his free hand,

The young woman looked up at the ceiling of her bedroom, staring at it as if there was something hidden there. In fact, she was watching the light dance on it, the colours changing as they filtered through surfaces, ultimately turning the ceiling the white the paint was meant to be. She blinked, off colour eyes roaming to the window where the sun was just breaking the horizon, discolouring the deep night sky with streaks of gold and pink. It was distasteful at best, adding a twinge of irritation to the already cranky female. Rolling away from the window she tipped over the edge of the bed, righting herself in the air to land in a light crouch. Naturally she would reach up and stretch the stiffness from her muscles, feeling her joints pop back into their proper places while she walked toward the bathroom, grabbing a towel on the way for her morning shower.

Exactly seventy-five minutes later, the black haired student was walking through the school grounds, dressed in her traditional uniform, a saber on each hip. She rarely went anywhere without her sabers, not since she had been gifted them; their edges perfectly honed, razor-sharp and deadly. Her stockings covered her legs, keeping the scars from her past hidden, as well as keeping her from burning. She had always been sensitive to sunlight, a mild allergy, though as she had grown further tainted with the darkness it had gotten worse. Now, without proper care, she burned easily, even if she did enjoy going to the beach at some points in time.

Eliza stopped near the front of the school, satchel strap across her chest, and looked to see the students beginning to gather there. She had never met any other Elementalists in her home town aside from the smith, neither of her parents having the gift, until she had come here. There were a vast array of them, surprisingly enough, and she wondered why the vast majority of them were not dead simply because of the skepticism of everyday mundane life. Surely they came from places where those with gifts were feared as she had been when her own had been discovered? Her eyes trailed over two sitting beneath a tree, at others standing about and she made the conscious decision to not initiate interaction with those she saw there. Finding perch beside the school wall, her back to the brick and her rear on the concrete beside the front stairs, she pulled out a rather large book and started reading without a word.

Markus looked around and soon he noticed others were joining him with taking to the headmasters who seemed to be waiting on everyone before actually saying anything important which to markus actually made some sense of you thought about it. Although since they weren't talking markus was quickly getting bored. He turned around to see a young girl ask them where she was meant to go as well. However what caught his eye was her laptop and get headphones as he sticky took a few steps away from her "sorry don't take this the wrong way but while you have those with you it's best to avoid me. Otherwise I could ruin your nice electronics markus said with a fake laugh too hide his nervousness. While markus would happily pop a light bulb for a quick laugh he had to make sure to avoid precious items like those. Especially when he wanted to make a god first impression. Nothing says bad guy more then destroying someone's laptop even if by accident.

Emi

Luke seemed to be enjoying his time listenting to the music. The voice around him couldn't penetrate his shell if he didn't hear them. After having addressed him he looked confused. He wasn't expecting her to be talking to him. She couldn't complain, a stranger approaching you was weird in its own way.

He presented himself as Luke something something. Honestly Luke was enough for her. She wasn't very good with names but nicknames and sometimes even normal names would stay in her head. Her eye twitched a little as he grabbed her hand though. What was it with the strong handshakes and men all the time. Was he trying to win from her in a test or strength!? Emi kept smiling at him and hoped he didn't noticed she was in pain. First he wanted to decline her offer but she wouldn't let him. Not for some stupid reason that others would hate her too. What was wrong with having odd friends that were hated through the school?

Luke looked fluttered for a moment making Emi grin a little at him as she pulled him out towards a more open area. It looked like he was slightly confused to what for reaction he was suppose to give. Emi turned her head around and led the way to a nearby open area where the sun was shining brightly. She stopped next to a bench and turned around towards him. For a moment she displayed a slight smile at him before sitting down with a more relaxed expression on her face. She pulled the bag from behind her on her lap and dug around in it.

"I have some manga or normal books. If you'd preffer to chat I don't mind either."

Emi dug further in her bag and read some of the title's sreing if there was anything intresting in her bag at the moment that Luke might prefer.

Kano Hargor

@sif

Kanos hood obscured his face with unnatural dark, the only facial features visible were the glow of his crystal blue eyes that shone like fire even at a distance. His mood had never improved since the loss of his wife Eliza. Often his mind would fall back to memories of her when left alone and undistracted, but here in the grand hall with the throng of students gathering for their first step into the world their powers had created, he was focused and determined. Unfettered by the shackles of his self imposed prison deep in the bowels of the academy.

"No, Old friend. We have overseen this day since the founding. It would not do the students to see their teachers flee from responsibility when we've already made our entrance. Some might get the wrong idea."

Kano clapped the headmaster, as he chose to be called, on the shoulder and moved further ahead. The grand hall was open to the students for now but it was unfurnished to allow the masses in, both students and a great deal of parents from the village, had come to view the halls again. Some to relive their youth and others to see their children on the right path with encouragement and love. Kano secretly envied these parents for that simple joy.
His eyes scanned the crowd and three peculiar students caught his attention.

His adopted son, Samuel Watson. Ever the odd man out but a heart that rose above his curse. A curse that had taken the heart of another young girl, by the name of Eliza. If not for the calm and quiet authority she had received since departing her former home, Kano believed the dark would have truly taken her.

The last was a student so rare it was thought to not exist at all. Eria Alexi Grandous, a student born with the affinity to Aether instead of altering herself to it. Aether energy was capable of amplifying energies, manipulating the elements forcefully, and even creating what some of the less learned would call 'magic'. It was a powerful element in itself but was often chaotic. The fabric of the universe, the spirits, even the air the students breathed, could be described as Aether. Kano realized he had been quietly staring at her for nearly a minute, his gaze fixed unmistakably on her and her alone.

With a light chuckle Kano continued down the stairs with the other Headmaster until they reached a podium made of natural wood, the work of an earth elemental who had coaxed the the earth to create the foundation for the entire building. Every conceivable inch had been crafted through the unison of a very old and powerful Earth elementalist. The stone walls had been raised from the ground, the stairs had been grown over the course of 10 years, the metal railings had been created in the same way as the stone was raised. To some it would seem bland work lacking flair, but to others this place was a masterpiece of craftsmanship.

"Students of the Academy. Fall into order, please."

His voice rang out over the hall and well into the courtyard where the students milled about while waiting for something to start. All promptly found their way into the hall, standing near the base of the stairs and the raised platform where Kano stood addressing them.

"I would like to personally welcome you to your new home. This mountain we lay under has been home to thousands of generations, each and every one to come have been energetic, determined, and eager. When they left these halls years later, just as you all will in the future, they left with knowledge and understanding. Skill. All of you will leave this place with new ideas and a heart full of serenity. Fear nothing, my students, and strive for academic excellence. Your highschool lives are over. As of this exact moment.."

Kano paused to let the words sink in before raising his left hand, all of the teachers took their cue and stepped out from the upper stairways and onto the balcony overlooking the students.

"You are an Elementalist!"

To the sound of clapping from the parents and the chorus of cheering from a majority of the students, each teacher displayed their affinity.
A blinding curtain of light shimmered into existence around the light teachers.

The earth teachers leapt down from the balcony to be met half way down by a rising pillar of stone, small shaped works of stone and wood danced across the air in front of them.

The fire teachers roared out over the balcony, their breath turning to pyroclasmic storm. The flames lingered in the sky over them.

The wind teachers took to the sky with grace, leaping from the battlements as a strong gust of wind picked up around their forms to carry them in the sky before gently depositing them near the doors of the entrance way.

Finally, Kano stepped forward and ushered in a series of streams flowing from the open windows. Like the flower he had created on the roof, the water rushed around him before freezing into a solid pillar of smooth ice. His entrance was not done with just that. The core of the statue had a tiny bead of pitch black in it. To the onlookers at a distance it was almost invisible, lost in the immense statue. But within moments it began to spread through the statue until the depths of it were black. The shadows around him elongated to twist around the statue like creeping vines.
The last effect would only be recognizable to a single student. Latent energy was visible to her and every student had a few dots of it swirling about them. Kanos hands not only throbbed with that energy, it focused it into patterns along his skin like tattoos. The more energy he put into his pillar the brighter it began to shimmer. When he reached a crescendo the ice shattered and reformed to water before swirling over in an endless cycle around the shadows. Like the age old yin and yang they flowed around each other in a maelstrom.

"Students! You know your element. Please go to the teachers displaying the same as yourselves. You will receive your first lesson from them."

Kano grinned inwardly at his own flashy display. The others chose to keep things simple but at heart, he was a real show off.

Eria A. Grandous

Eria sat in almost the very front of the crowd of students as it had begun to congregate towards the beautifully crafted podium in the hall, the fact that she was in front of the group allowed her to see more of the presentation without being obstructed by the rather large amout of Aetheric energy that was trickling off of the other students tht would at times block her vision. As Eria examined the other teachers as well as the headmasters themselves, "Which one did grandfther tell me to worry abo-" she had began but then noticed that the hooded one had been starring at her for almost a minute. "That must be him...." she said just before he began speaking.

After the displays that the regular teachers produced to show their respective elements, Eria's eyes were immediately drawn to Headmaster Kano's display not only because of his ability to control three element but it was the fact that the third element was the same as her own. The Aetheric energy tattoos glowed brightly to her as a beacon of who she should go to as a teacher, "Am I really with him?" she asked after the whole presentation was over an the headmaster told the students to find their teachers.

Eria made her way to the front and just stood in front of Headmaster Kano with her eyes daring not to meet his own, "Umm, Master Kano.... I might be making a big assumption but are you the teacher for Aether Elementalist?" she asked timidly as she took a quick glance up at him. The Cloud of Aether was slowly dispersing from above her as it was turned into a almost transparent dome of energy on it's own. The Aetheric particles did this based off of Eria's emotions at the time which were that she was very nervous, she didn't have any control over what they did at the moment but what she could do was make them dome a little bit clearer for her to see out of.

Natalie Redgrave

Natalie gave a chuckle, slipping her laptop into her bag but leaving her headphones looped around her neck. "I wouldn't mind, the blasted things do me very little service for anything but annoying me." Her pale blue eyes found themselves fixed upon the young man's necklace which seemed to crackle, containing sparks of electricity. "Are you an electricity element?" she asks. As soon as she did her mind drew arguments as to why that wasn't the best conversation starter. [i]What if he's really self-conscious of his powers or somethin'[i]. Heck, Natalie didn't know his name. "Oh, oh, sorry, I'm Natalie," she introduces herself, outstretching her hand for a handshake. Am I meant to shake his hand or fist bump or not touch him or... Natalie was beginning to realise she probably wasn't too great at this. Living in an isolated place she'd never really made a friend in person before, were they friends. A simple introduction wouldn't mean so much would it? Well either way she'd never really introduced herself to someone her age in person before.

It wasn't long after the first-years were flocking into the grand building. "Well I guess I'll see you around... maybe... possibly... ur yeah. I'm sure we'll see each other again," she farewells the boy before joining the large group of first-year students.

The display was magnificent and Natalie couldn't help but watch in wide-eyed wonder, particularly when Kano did his display. She greatly doubted most schools were like this. She slid between bodies of all sizes, shapes and elements to reach the entrance where stood the wind teachers awaiting their new pupils. Natalie gave them a smile, "Ur... hi... I'm Natalie," she greets them

Luke found himself in the open area, blinding light directly right above him. For some reason he felt very, very drained whenever he's directly under the sun. Emi smiled at him a bit more, before sitting done while saying,

"I have some manga or normal books. If you'd prefer to chat I don't mind either."

To be honest he didn't really mind either, both are pretty much good reads in his eyes. So he took excused himself to a familiar book in her purse without her permission before slinking down and reading slowly. He let the silence between them dictate their own conversations. Luke didn't really know what to do in these types of situations after all.

---

After they well all gathered like sheep to a pen, or rather, the hall. It was ridiculous, even for someone like Luke who normally didn't really care, this place was grandeur and large. It was the large crowd that didn't sit well with him, so he hung around the edge, his back to a wall. WIth his arms folded he watched the folly that was about to erupt.

After the long, oddly enough, warming welcome the teachers showed off their skillsets. Suffice to say, it was impressive. They had the utmost deftness and grace in their manipulation of their elements. Watching them would easily allure and endear a normal person. Honestly Luke was impressed, he had heard they were good, but this was more than that. This was almost surreal and bizarre. However Luke wasn't really looking for stylishness, or rather, flashiness like that, just improvement of skill. Nothing more, nothing less.

As soon as the students were called forward, his teacher was Headmaster Kano. His reverence even reached the far corners of his far away home, and that, in and of itself, is impressive. However Luke made no really didn't want to impress anyone. He performed a simple, yet graceful somersault because the crowd infront of him was barring his entry. He landed to the side of the headmaster.

Luke then let out a sluggish yawn, waving a small greeting with his free hand (that wasn't covering his mouth). He manipulated a small patch of water, letting it cascade elegantly around him, akin to a swift dragon encircling a mountain. He smiled, and looked eye to eye with the headmaster, and then to his fellow classmates,
"Greetings Headmaster." he said, a tear forming at the corner of his eye because of his earlier yawn, "Uh- and other students who are going to be students, erm, under the tutelage... teaching? Of Headmaster Kano."

His socialization still needs a bit of improvement as waves of whisper seized him.

Madison

Madison had to admit that the welcoming presentation was rather impressive. She couldn't help but stare in amazement as it was her first time witnessing numerous abilities being used as part of a performance. Unfortunately, her attention was cut short when her watch notified her of an incoming call. She saw that it was from Damon, her 16-year-old neighbor who was notoriously known for being nothing but a troublemaker.

What the hell does he want? she wondered, turning a bit anxious as she ignored the call. Not 5 seconds later he was calling her again. Madison decided to just let it ring, trying to instead focus on orientation. Once the students were dismissed to meet with their teachers, Madison snuck off down the hall to where it was a little bit more quiet and a lot more secluded. She dialled his number, Damon unsurprisingly picking up by the first ring.

"What do you want?" she greeted him in a rather harsh tone.

"Madison...my mother passed-" his voice broke, and she instantly felt a wave of regret. There was an awkward silence on the line for a moment before he spoke again, and Madison could tell from his voice that he had been crying for some time. "Is it okay if I talk to you for a minute? I don't-"

"Yeah, it's fine," she added, cutting him off and wanting to make up for how badly she had just treated him, "you can talk to me."

Madison made herself comfortable as she sat down on the ground and leaned against the wall. She realized that she would be a bit late to class, but she could make up a quick excuse for her being tardy. After all, there probably wasn't much to learn on their first day of class.
