@Experiment 249 Ooh didn't notice that. Well, I'll tweak it so it's not Lily she bumps into. Maybe someone else or some random that's just slowing her down from catching Snivy
Personality: Jinx is gonna get his, no matter what. He's in the crime game for two reasons, and two reasons-the fortune and the fame....and perhaps for another, self evident reason, to have fun. Jinx runs on pure adrenaline, and the more dangerous things get, the wider his grin becomes. He's always willing to crack a joke, good or bad, in the middle of a job, or when the police have him "cornered". What's the point of living if you don't have fun with it?
By the same token, what use is all the wealth in the world if you aren't around to enjoy it? Jinx may pretend to be carefree, a floating free spirit with no troubles-but mountain of work goes into his jobs and he almost always has some escape routes in his back pocket. Failing that, he'll ruthlessly battle his way, heedless of the cost to anyone but himself and his team. Furthermore, he's developed a massive interest in any myths associated with immortality or the possibility thereof-he intends to be around to enjoy his ill gotten wealth forever.
Speaking of his team-there are two types of people in the world, according to Jinx. One of his and one of theirs-he couldn't care less about those on the wrong side of that line, but for folks on his side of it, there's nothing he wouldn't do. You're with him or against him-but if you're with him, the one thing you can always be sure of is he'll take care of you.
Jinx is also flirtatious-sometimes to an extreme. Show him a cute guy on a job, and he'll make sure to throw a wink or two, along with a comment as he makes his grand escape...this also makes a great way to put any would be enemies off their guard. A nice marriage of Jinx's two favorite things-fun and pragmatism. He loves it when a plan comes together!
In short-Jinx is a walking contradiction-he'll down his life for his team, but he'll fight his way through a crowd without a second thought. He'll crack terrible jokes as attacks tear up the wall behind him-but he's spent a dozen sleepless nights just prepping for that job. What you think he is depends on the day you catch him on.
Hometown/Region:Goldenrod City, Johto.
History: Jinx has gone to great expense and great trouble to hide his real name-such as it is. It was a simple flair of pride on his part, for much of his history is known. He was a ward of the state from a young age, and by age ten, he'd ran away from the system entirely, making his living on the streets of Goldenrod city-begging, burrowing and stealing, squatting in old buildings, falling in with the odd gang. It was on these streets that he discovered his true talent-theft, grandiose, audacious, theft. It started as a typical job for a chopshop-break into a car, turn it for some quick dough, and get gone. But he smelled opportunity when one of those expensive foreign jobs pulled up besides the mark. He struck, wrestling with the best, most advanced security features money could buy. And, shockingly, the street urchin triumphed, and pulled into the chopshop with a car worth four times the amount of the mark.
His audacity was rewarded-and at this point he started to consider the possibilities. He watched the more experienced, older thieves go about their jobs. Asked for tips. Begged for advice. Even puppy-dogged eyed one into taking him on one of his jobs. Slowly, he began to learn, at the feet of the criminals of Goldenrod city. It was at this point that he took in two small pokemon-a young Houndour and a freshly hatched Ekans. Even then, the former ward of the state had an...affinity for abandoned things. He raised them as best he could, and more less fell into trainerhood by complete accident. To support himself, and his new charges, he kept at it, taking any job the underworld had-and attracted the notice of a visiting celebrity. One Mrs. Sandiego. A famous thief in her own right.
She took the "bright young man" under her wing, and tended to a part of his mind that the streets of Goldenrod had neglected-that of philosophy. Jinx had stolen to survive, yes. But had he ever considered the reasons he'd had too? The world didn't care for him, for people at the bottom of the ladder-it was a nasty, big place. And there was no changing it. The best you could do was take care of your own, and, perhaps, take a chance on people like you. Help them along as the world never would. But most importantly of all were two crowns, two pillars that one most never forget-life isn't worth living if you aren't having fun, and you had to be around to enjoy your wealth, or it was simply meaningless. Jinx took to these lessons with zeal, and turned against anyone who he hadn't "done right by him". But by far, he held the most contempt for the rich-and for those who enforced "their" laws.
When Jinx turned seventeen, he and Sandiego bid each other a fond farewell-she had little left to teach him, and wanted him to develop on his own, rather then simply become a carbon copy of herself-and Jinx, much as he appreciated Sandiego, much as he'd come to few her almost as a mother, wanted to break off, become a name in his own right. Lavender Town would be the place he made that name-one of the biggest names in Kanto was being laid to rest, alongside one of his pokemon-and the graves sported some very valuable jewels indeed. Alongside the now matured Houndour and Ekans, Jinx planned his grand entrance.
And met an unexpected boon along the way-a bored Ghastly who attached himself to the team-and proved invaluable due to it's instinctive understanding of the great tower where the mark was being laid to rest. The job was a smashing success-not only did he get the jewels, but he had the time to mug for the camera and leave behind a calling card. The news couldn't shut up about "Jinx" for weeks! From that point forwards, the Ghastly became a permanent part of his team-and a partner, of sorts. It enjoyed mugging for the camera's and making and utter spectacle of itself as much as Jinx did. Dodging the police, the manhunts, Jinx took on a job that would, he hoped, seal his infamy in the public eye-a job for the notorious Team Rocket. They needed power cut to Cerulean City for some job or another-and they'd charged him, in return for quite the princely sum, with making sure that cut happened.
He did them one better. Lighting fizzled, blinked, and died across Kanto, for the better part of an hour, darkness reigned. Jinx made sure sure to bow to the security camera's on the way into the power plant-just to make sure everyone knew who'd pulled it off. From there, it was off the races-stealing moonstones from Mt. Moon, fossils from Cinnabar Island, elemental stones from the Celadon City department store (to be sold off on the black market later), some more jobs for Team Rocket....eventually, the heat was too much, and Jinx fled Kanto, and unleashed a reign of crime, specifically larceny against any other region who caught his fancy.
Time sped on-the Houndour became a Houndoom, the Ekans an Arbok, and the Ghastly a Haunter. And Jinx, lured by the possibility of lucrative contracts, and yet more fame to add to his growing reputation, came to Viore.
What shall he do? Steal the ancient crown of a tyrant king? Take a job to steal some data from every Pokemon Center in the region? Another elemental stone job?
Heh. Why not all three?

My lovely thief, submitted for approval by the GM's~
Or not. Sorry, but I just got a headache and whatever I was planning just went down the drain. I'm going to go and try to relax and reactivate my creative processes, but you may have to wait until tomorrow.
@Zardoric That's perfectly fine. I had a fucking rough night myself, so I understand.
@Ophidian If you think you can make your character work with the RP and have some character interaction and all of that goodness, then you are super accepted! Love your character. If Nasir could break through the forth wall, he'd feel so bad for Jinx. His original Trainer had a similar origin story.

Aw, thanks.
And yeah, I can see alot of possibilities for Jinx-recurring villain, being hired by another player, even trying to take a sufficiently unfortunate one under his wing of thievery (and eeeeeevil), and of course....there's the fact that people like Jinx might not care about world threatening events, but world threatening events most certainly care about -them-.
I kinda feel like chilling for a bit, in case someone else in the airport still wants to pop into this exchange, especially at the mention of heading to the pokemon center. It'd be a good way to move more characters together at once, y'know?
Also I can't post more tonight anyway. My head is mush, my sentences are a jumble, and I just spent longer than I wrote the post fixing my trainwreck, except I probably didn't actually fix it. So there's that. lol. ; ; Tomorrow's another day.
@Ophidian yassss. I kinda feel like he and Amber could have some fun interactions. Amber's gonna be constantly annoyed and angry when Jinx slips past her and I feel like having a criminal around is gonna push her into training harder since Jinx is obvs a p good trainer already. I'm just hella excited to have her interact with him.
@Zardoric No problem, man. Get some rest if you still have a headache.

Well, I've arranged a job that should have be bumping into each other all around the region.
@Ophidian (Leo is 20, not that close to the same age as Devon, but I forgive you this time. Also, since you're a theif, Leo is holding a very nice looking box in his hand that isn't holding up the Lilligant that he woud be fairly angry if it were to be stolen from him)

@Ophidian Team Rocket has absolutely zero influence in the Viore Region. Period. Tried working with it before, didn't work out.
Any outside organizations have pretty much zero influence. Only Team Royal Skies has been noted to have any interest or activities in Viore. And they are a pretty closed organization, they have specialists for this kind of stuff.
