Ok so you clicked on this interest check then obviously you are well informed in regards to all things Zelda, or at the very least, you know the main gist of the hero of time era aka Ocarina of time. This thread will essentially go down that way in terms of plot. hence, the reason why the title is called "History's Repeating Itself" because it is essentially the same thing happening all over again.

However, to not COMPLETELY copy the same thing, there is a few twists. one of those "twists" is that the thread will be taking place in modern times, so modern clothes, technology, kids go to school not play in graveyards and pretend to be dampé the grave keeper, etc. However! I still really want to keep the whole magic element and items present, so the use of potions, swords, shields, and other items will be used. Another thing that will be different if the layout of the temple of time. The temple is now just ruins that is right outside of town and very few actually visit the ruins. The chamber where the master sword sleeps has been sealed away by heavy stone doors, but with large holes in the chamber's ceiling, it has been believed that the sword was stolen a long time ago but nobody is for certain since nobody but the hero of legend can actually get inside without climbing through the ceiling or swimming through the long underwater passages that lead to the room.

Like in all Zelda games there will be a reincarnation of the hero and the goddess, and the seven sages. And, as always, they will have no memory of their past lives. These memories, however, are not lost and can be unlocked at certain points in the game. The characters can be reincarnates or no, that's up to you, and if you'd like to reserve a space please let me know as they will be first come first serve. (I will make a cs sheet soon)

Spaces available:
Link: Taken by @the one
Navi: Taken by Me
Zelda: (available)
Sage of light: (available)
Sage of forest: (available)
Sage of fire: (available)
Sage of water: (available)
Sage of darkness: Taken by @zardoric
Sage of spirit: (available)
Sage of time: (available)

Please know that this is a work in progress and will be edited over time. For now I just want to see how many people would be interested.

How close to the Time-line up to this point will you be, and which Time-line will you use?

Also, I may wish to take the Sage of Darkness.

@Zardoric the child era time line is the one we are going to be using and probably some +2000 years after entering the child era so it happened a long long time prior to the what would take place in the thread

Are all the races still around? One of the reasons I ask is cause you said there's an underwater passage into the temple of time, and I figure the zoras would have all that figured out pretty well, unless unlike our modern time, everyone still keeps separated from each other and rarely mingle.

Also would we have to be a sage, or one of the others, not really sure what the sages do aside from sealing magic and hard light bridges.

Ok, can I be somebody like Skull Kid?

If not, too bad. If this does get off the ground I claim Link.

The sages are quite a bit more powerful then that. Put on a scale link would have almost as much trouble taking one of them down as he would a dungeon boss, and that's not accounting for their skill sets, which would make it all but impossible. Each sage is a master of their own element, and capable of a wide verity of magic. Once they have been awakened of course.

I would assume yes to you being similar to Skull kid as a Forest Sage if that's the route you want. However I am not the host so don't take my word for it.

@The Fox Without just as @Zardoric stated, sages are very powerful and have great potential. I will list what each sage is capable of as soon as I can to hopefully make things a bit more clear.

As for your other question, yes, the other races do very much exist and mingle freely with one another. HOWEVER. this does not mean that the Zoras would have figured out how to navigate the underwater passages. All races, not just the Hyrulians, RARELY visit the temple ruins, mainly because it is sacred ground and it is very dangerous. Everyone usually tends to stay at the square where the races sell goods at the market.

@The One I want to say no to skull kids and the kokiri as usable races because according to the lore, skull kids are cursed to wonder in the lost woods forever and the kokiri cannot leave the forest or they will immediately perish.

@Ace of flames01@The One

Would it be possible for the power of a sage to break the skull kids curse?

But the forest Sage has to be someone from that forest. If the only options are kokiri and skull kids then it would make perfect logical sense. Also, I am finding nothing that indicates that skull kid(s) are stuck in the Lost woods. Although it seems that there is only one, and he is nearly powerful enough to match a sage anyway I wouldn't recommend adding him. Sorry @The One.

I may just end up having the forest sage be an NPC... unless you can come up with an idea that could link that sage to the forest while not being a skull kid or a kokiri

Why not allow a kokiri Forest sage player? The power of the sage, plus the power of the Great Duke Tree could allow him/her to leave the forest. Or you could do something like in ocarina where a Hyrulian child grew up there. There are plenty of options if your willing to bend the lore/rules.

Also I was never sure if that was actually true, since there were kokirians (?) Were at the party on Lon Lon ranch during the party at the end of OoT

@The Fox Without I looked at the hyrulethe historia and it says that if a kokiri leaves the forest, they will die. So I would say that a Hyrulian raised by the kokiri would be fine for the forest sage

Sorry for the late response btw
