@Ezmeralda Well, that's the beauty of the thing isn't it? I think that the name of the game for the Blood Saint would be more of preparation. Before the fight distribute nice little syringes to be used and after the fight, go to those who can still be saved, slit your wrist and say 'Here, drink on that'.

Don't forget that the most important thing here will be to have your wits about you however as a bloodsaint starts really close to the Choir and its nasty little secrets and is a super high target on everyone's agendas.

I'm afraid it's the curse of the Blood saint, practically useless in combat, but invaluable to have non the less. In all honesty though, nothing preventing to learn some moves along the way, uh? Depending of your background some starting fighting skills, enough to at least be able to roll out of the way and maybe stab something or someone while a real hunter is taking the aggro and in general be bloody annoying and distracting isn't out of the question but... I think every character should want to protect the blood saint at all cost rather than see her on the front line. Pretty damn useless to have a dead blood saint you see?

EDIT: Basically, you're the king piece. Sure, you're pretty damn useless in front of a queen, knight, etc, but it isn't a piece you can afford to lose or put in danger.

@Ezmeralda Sure! Dagger, staff, ceremonial things are fine. Hey, why not add a pistol to the mix too, since its easy as it gets to use. All in all I don't think I'll change my mind, but its about the background and the justification so... maybe, just maybe there's hope for more if you can convince me.

Actually, since she's a blood-saint, wouldn't her 'bloodtinge' be really high? A quicksilver-bloodbullet (How did they explain how bloodtinge improves quicksilver bullets anyway? Or do you jsut inject a little bit of blood with each QS bullet?) would do something coming from a blood saint. Probably in the 40+ range, in my opinion.

The way I see it, while strength is the ability to hit hard and dex is the ability to hit fast and precisely, bloodtinge is the ability to hit where it hurts. This being somewhat of instinct if you will, the guns because lets face it, bloodtinge doesn't affect our ability hit per-se, only the damage. Cainhurst weeaboo blades working along that idea that you follow your 'gut feeling' (Pun) to strike, your blade becoming an extension of yourself, same thing about that mace in the DLC, just something primal about it. Not hitting where you want to hit but where you must hit and leave your instinct to do the job a work of reflex.

Does that make sense?

That rune gives continuous health regen but I consider that being because making the player immortal would be silly.

Vileblood=Practically immortal. Mind you, if you get turned into pink mush by an overzealous executioner or eaten by a beast, that can fuck up your life in a definite manner as far as the RP goes.

From what the game explained, each bullet has a bit of the user's own blood. So it's possible hers could be very strong or perhaps effective against a certain type of enemy. But remember that she isn't a Hunter. She doesn't really have a reason to make bullets unless asked or if she had a pistol.

I'm not sure if Bloodtinge = Quality of blood, though.

With dexterity being the ability to hit 'fast and precisely' wouldn't Bloodtinge be redundant? In my interpretation, Bloodtinge was the overall 'thickness' and 'quality' of your dude's blood, and with higher Bloodtinge your blood-bullets turn more 'weighty'. With how firearms are usually used (And, by extension, what bloodtinge is good for) in the game, using your gun to stop enemy attacks, a thicker, weightier bullet would be more important then hitting in the right place.

Of course, I'm not the GM, I just wanted to get that out there. No offense intended, if I seemed bitchy.

Well, I have to admit, I'm kind of iffy on the whole blood bullet thing. I can't help to see this as an afterthought, a game balance gimmick because you can't have unlimited spells/bullets.

How do you guys think we should go about this?

I'm personally in favor of the Hollywood bullet belt where we strategically run out of bullets/mana/stamina based on how palatable we can make our story be.

@Wernher If you're talking about how many blood-bullets our guys should be able to carry, I'm going to go with the mostly abstract 'it's the boom that matters' way.

Cannons shouldn't be able to fire often at all, while gatling guns can fire all day, every day. Pistols are higher on the scale, blunderbusses are sort of in the middle, and the piercing rifle is a bit low. Since, y'know, it's basically a sniper rifle and you can hit multiple dudes at once for full damage each? IIRC anyway.

TL;DR I agree. with your idea.
