Just registered and thought I'd quickly introduce myself. I'm a nerdy 23 year old guy, who loves reading, video games, travelling, inappropriate humor, philosophising, discussing random things, swimming and biking. (although I don't partake in the last two as much as I would like at the moment!) Of course, I'm a huge fan of RP'ing as well, been doing it since I was 12 or 13. Pretty much done it all - forum RP, IM's, email, PnP, MMO's...I've even tried my hand at writing some longer stories, but I haven't really gotten anywhere with it. I used to be quite active in forum RP on some boards back in my high school years, but I stopped somewhere after my first year in uni. In fact, I can't remember the last time I RP'ed or wrote anything of note, it's been at least two years. I've been getting the ol' writing itch though, so I thought I'd join a community to get the creative juices flowing again.
My RL is quite hectic. I'm focusing on finishing university for my informatics degree (which I should have done last year...long story) and also work full-time for an IT company. Between that, I'm in the process of furbishing an apartment for myself so I can move there and I've taken on/plan to take some extra professional courses for various certifications. Oh, I'm also going to sign up to study Spanish this summer, which is a language I've wanted to learn for a long, long time. Speaking of languages, English is my second, so apologies for some wonky sentence structure or weird grammar!
Yeah...writing it out like that, it begs the question: "How do you even plan to squeeze RP into all of this?" I dunno, but I feel like it's something I have to do again. I've really missed the joy and satisfaction you get when you finish writing out a scene. So yeah, I probably won't have the time to partake in a lot of RP's, but hopefully I'll find something that suits my fancy and helps me kick my writing back into gear.
