You're putting forth the same exact CS here and in the Sentinel Initiative game - even using your IC post over there as your sample for this RP?

Doesn't that come off as slightly lazy? I don't mean to be confrontational, but wouldn't it show more respect for each RP if you took the time to individualize your apps? I don't believe posting copies as opposed to sheets unique to each game and their respective universe/history demonstrates much passion for the role. But that's just my opinion.

I wasn't doing it for the sake of being lazy, I like to keep my canon characters consistent. I don't want to play one Domino completely different than my other Domino; that just doesn't make sense to me. That sample is from another RP where I play Domino, but I'm not going to use it for this game. It was a SAMPLE after all lol. Her mannerisms I will play the same, but you won't be seeing me use that post in THIS rp.

Anyway, wanted to clear that up.

And cool beans, I'll get a post up when I can

That above section I can't say I believe in. I'd actually say the opposite; that if you have the same character in two different RP's, running them exactly the same in both almost defeats the point of it all, and hardly makes much sense.

But that's just one man's opinion.

Can the same character in two different games even exist? Yes, the starting point may be the same--but invariably each version of the character will have different experiences as the games, both in their playing out and conception, are two different games. Right?

Regardless of the different events that will occur, the history and personality of the characters are the same in both, and thus the portrayal in each game will be essentially the same. The very core of Domino is the same in both RPs, and that isn't changed simply because the situations presented in the two games won't be the same.

But, really, this conversation in regard to this particular character is no longer valid as the Domino app was already accepted. Feel free to continue it via PM, but I'd rather avoid cluttering the OOC with now irrelevant dialogue.

The very core of most comic characters are the same in most comic games.

And sorry for cluttering! I'm summoned upon mentioning of one of my games. (Nah, someone told me.)

As someone who's a part of one of the three 'ultimate' rps I feel a little less naughty in commenting, but;

Surely the whole point of a sample post is to show off how you write in an RP, under that consideration, an IC post from another RP makes 'more' sense than one you just think up. Technically one you just write out of the blue isn't an effective sample of your writing, at least if we were to apply experimentation principles (i.e. collecting evidence from a source specifically designed with the test in mind).

The point of the sample in this RP is to show how you will play the character you are applying as, not how you will play the character in another game. Submitting an IC post from a different game as the sample for this one shows no intent to vary the characterization of Domino between the two RPs.

But, once again, Ersatz, as the GM, didn't have a problem with it, so continuing to debate this in the OOC is no longer needed. If either of you two wish to continue this, or should any other friends of Yoshi be tempted to weigh in, please do so by sending me a PM instead of further cluttering the OOC with something only one member of the RP seems to take issue with.

Sorry, last one I promise, although actually it's become a genuine question of mine, kinda relevant for future applications, which may well include myself if I have time this weekend, but to me, that's talking about the quality of the writing, not how you will play a character, but you know, I could just have the wrong idea.

Short post up. It's brief, but sets up the next few.

I lost a very good friend today, and so I'm not sure I'll be active much in the following weeks. I'll still try and get a post up in the IC every week or so, though. Just don't expect me to do much outside of the IC for now. The same goes for UDC.

Awwww Rade I'm so sorry to hear that :( My thoughts are with you

Aside from that, just wanted to pipe in and let you all know that I AM in the midst of making up my first Domino post. It's been kinda rocky as introductions have never been my strong-suit, but it should be done sometime soon :)

Also...trying to think of ways to incorporate Domino into some of the characters lives (like a pre-history thing). Like I know Deadpool and Logan would have come across Domino at some point or another, so maybe it would be a good idea for us to PM one another and try to figure out a brief history between our characters? If not, just let me know. Thanks.

I'm totally up for a Deadpool/Domino cross-over, altho it might be a ways down the line, I'm still going through the intro arc.
