Where exactly in the map is the border between the Fiorentinans and the eastern pseudo-Muslims? I had this idea for a nation somewhat based on the post-Reconquista Iberia

I'll outline the Timluk territories once the map is updated, which I'll do once I'm home today. But for now, it pretty much extends the whole of the desert to the easternmost Fiorentinan claims.

Okay so this would be my Claim then. The City of Turchina itself is situated directly at the River Mouth at Vohemias Northern Border, If I could have a miniscule part of the Country at the southern Riverbank the City would be on both sides but in the south would directly border on Vohemia. I will later draw up a City map, and over time add descriptions of the numerous enclaves and parts of its sphere of influence.

@Gendarme
Vohemians I'd imagine would looked upon as barbarians domesticated by the church. Serfs are generally considered to be dirty and simple minded and their nobility is stuck up. Border barons are seen as exploitive, only lauding their loyalty to Vohemia when it suits them and being nothing more than jumped up raiders.
King Zikmund 3rd is a sado-masochist. He's also very cruel to prisoners and is a proponent of torture in times of "national concern". Anything around that really is ample fodder for all sorts of talk and names.

@Hygswitch
If you want the city to have a southern half on the south bank of the river, then sure. I'd say though that we should make the city wall the actual border itself. I think it'd just be easier if we had a clear definition between our states, either natural or man-made, rather than a nebulous stretch of land.
I'm sure the city could provide itself with enough food on the northern bank of the river without having any farmland on the southern side.

@LloydTurquoise A Wall is very much what I had in mind. And to most Citizens of my more enlightened Citystate Vohemia most likely will be seen as the bottom of the world. That Wall might be called the Unseen Wall (Because no one actually likes to even look into that direction), and that side of the river would be the bad part of town, like with slums and military barracks and the suchlike.

Yeah farmland is the reason to even have any streches of land at all to me XD

You're the scattered purple bits? Aside from the difficulty of maintaining such separate states, your claim is problematic because babysama has taken that region: roleplayerguild.com/posts/3693268

You could take the land underneath, next to Bohemia, or set up shop around Choedal or Lukesaraj in the green.

Awww that's why I had been waiting for a properly updated map. Also a proper access to both Rivers and Sea is pretty essential to my concept, as it is pretty much based on The Italian City States, Venice in particular. It also is important to maintain such scattered exclaves via my fleet.

@babbysama would you be fine with me taking a little of your country as laid out in my map? If you want to we can of course shrink it a down a notch. I am not going for great landmasses but a trading, naval power citystate.

@Hygswitch I don't mind you claiming those spots, though it's probable that our nations would have had a lot of crossover in our history (which is totally cool)

If you take the lower region between Vohemia and Sevvane, you can get creative and give a description of your land that it has many creeks and small rivers to traverse. They don't have to be visible upon the map, as long as you don't say that you are in a completely different location with no mountains and huge lakes or something.

Okay I took a moment to fabricate a map everybody should be happy with so far. Sadly I couldn't find the name of @POOHEAD189s Nation, and couldn't read the name of the tiny turquise one between Mille-Sessau and Aldmeria.

Also Poohead, do you have any idea what the point of Shiptrade it? Its about navigating the entire known world and selling rare goods to the citizens of all the other nations, holding an iron grip on the seas with a great armada, not about playing boat on some pitoresque lakes. XD but thanks for making a proposal it should work like this. All my exclaves are along this one big river that my ships can use and at the great lake and I have a smaller one up the coast. Should be enougth for my concept, and I bet everyone is okay with the Countries sizes and stuff.

Map was made in Inkscape so it's pretty easy to change.

Oh, and I had just finished my copy:

Yours is much nicer, though and if you and babbysama are in agreement with your claims, yours works just fine. Mine does show the Timluk territories, though, in case anybody is wondering where they start/end.

Wondering if you're still with us; else I'll have to take control of or free up Mille-Sessau & Sevanne for somebody else. If not, no worries!

@HygswitchI did not see that you were going for a ship trade nation, only that you wanted water near you XD. My bad. Glad it worked out though.
And I have yet to make my nation's name. Should have it filled out for the most part by tonight.

Of course, I would be happy to write it up so it fits. Maybe Turchina was a city within your nation once but gained a degree of independence first as that was good for trade but once the citizens had gained an own identity they had a war for proper indenpendence and over time claimed a few other shreds of lands and other trading cities. That would likeley have happened a few centuries back in the middle to the later half of the middleages. So Relationships by now might have normalized.

@Hygswitch I like the sounds of that. Maybe Turchina constituted part of the holdings of King Volmer of Grand Ruri and was nominally inducted into the confederacy, but due to its distance from the center and relative proximity to Vohemia it was allowed to carve out its own sovereignty in the south, and eventually the Grand Duchy was like "fuck it w/e just take it".
