Alrighty, well at this point I have already missed a shitton of stuff. I can say now that I wont be able to keep up with this rp if this is what the posting rate is going to look like. In the interests of not having to write massive catchup posts all the time I might just pull out.

Sorry to see you go, Ollum. Actually, I'd rather if you didn't. Minus filler posts I'll be doing occasionally, I think it may be a good idea to come up with a posting order. This way the RP can stay active but no one needs to get left behind in it either. If you think that would be okay and keep you in the RP.

if some sort of posting order can be worked out that would be good. I just dont want to be left behind. I went to work and came back to find over twelve posts, in that amount of time entire issues can rise and be halfway resolved before I can even butt in or comment about my characters opinion. Really i would just be reacting to everyone else's actions instead of being able to do anything.

Which would be boring. And frustrating.

Like right now. One character literally showed up, said his piece and already fucked off and i am not even in the conversation yet.

@Ollumhammersong I think I have to apologize for that as well. I mostly tried to divert my character away from the cluster fuck to avoid such things. I would like a posting order too. Trust me, even if you were in it, answering three different people and holding 5 conversations at the same time was a hassle to try to remember. Constantly looking back at posts and character sheets. I feel your pain my dwarf companion.

I should also add that I may not be able to post every day. In fact I certainly wont be able to post every day. So depending on the speed that people want to move at it still may be best for me to leave.

I understand why you think a posting order is a good idea, but to me it would grind everything to a halt. Say two people are having a conversation, and a third person comes in. They have to wait for literally EVERYONE ELSE to update themselves before they can continue a simple conversation. In my mind, it would be much more detrimental to a RP than it would benefit.

Not to mention id probably quit the RP if a posting order were implemented. Part of the reason i prefer smaller groups.

Well maybe not a posting order, but maybe a posting check. Like, you have to wait until at least most of the people in the conversation/group has posted. Like, just judge it on a situational basis. To prevent spamming and cluster fucks. Not like an order of "Okay you go, then you go, then you go." So it works at a smooth pace.

Does that seem reasonable?

Thats what i do all the time. I usually wait for a few posts before posting again, unless my character's called to attention, and needs to make a response. Im perfectly fine with that. Its just that the order would make it so that people could wait DAYS before seeing another post, and that doesnt seem fair to me.

@Grnmachine I think that's more or less of what she meant, not like a literal order. Just putting some order to the chaos. Maybe when the cluster fuck goes away and we possibly break up into groups, it'll get better.

To that same token, the other method would punish those like myself who are not around computers 24/7 during the summer time. I have a full time job and and shit to do. I can't sit down and write multiple posts a day, every day. It simply isn't happening.

it really just leaves people like myself in the dust and unable to enjoy the story because it is three steps ahead of where it was that morning. And so much happened you can't respond to it all in one coherant and sensible post without it being a novella.

@Ollumhammersong Well... We could have a group that goes at a slower pace and one that goes at a faster pace? I know how a job and a life is sometimes, although I can't say I have one because I'm applying for a new one as we speak.

But anyways, you could be in a group with people who go at a slower pace. It wouldn't ruin the overall plot, as I'm sure both parties would have different sub plots. And when major events happen we'll just have to elongate them to make them include everyone.

Does THAT make everyone a happy camper?

That would assume that the Gm is willing and able to run two parallel rp's

Which may be a lot to ask of their time and energy.

@Ollumhammersong I mean, it's just a suggestion. Of course it's all up to the GM. But I'm just spitballing ideas here. I mean some RP kinda of run by themselves, so to speak, with GM input here in there. But I just like seeing everybody happy, despite my asshole char, so I'm just trying to find a solution that everyone likes.

I guess before I post I will wait to hear what is happening. If we are implementing a posting order of some description, How many people might revolt if we do, etc. if most people are against the idea and want this to continue at the pace it is going than I will leave.

What I normally do is have a set posting order and when two or three people get together in a conversation or such they do a big collab post. This is normally done on Titanpad or some sort and then they post their little conversation. This allows the person that has work (myself included) to not get left behind, but also doesn't get left behind by the massive conversation posts that can flood an IC.

I think for now, an actual order isn't needed really. We just have to be respectful of the other players in the game. Keep in mind that at any given time, there's going to be at least seven other posts that need to be read and responded to because that is how many people we currently have. In the beginning of the posting phase, we were a bit slow on the posting. It only shot up a good deal once most of the players had posted their intro into the story.

I'd personally like to keep us all in one group. Two groups would be hard for this plot to work to be honest as it would detour around the main story. Not to mention I have every intention of the ruins everyone's currently in being a sort of cataclysm for the story to begin. Everyone has a role to play in the story. I even have plans to incorporate Denrig and Halen's homelands into the mix as part of the story line. There will be points in the RP where I'll be making a sort of guiding hand post.

In fact, to keep the group together, even after the sort of explosion of anger issues, I've already got something in mind. As it is right now, I only need Halen to get closer to camp. Even though Cedran has wandered off, I've a plan to sort of get him back with the others as well that's already been put into motion privately.
