@Doc Doctor
The question is WHO.

Because the Arena I'd on a slow slump. It'll revitalize but it's gonna take a while.

Just what do I have to do to get another match!?

Give me 50 million.

You want to fight with donny? It seems like his hitting flies with his magnum would mean dodging is almost out of the question unless he's fighting a superhuman speedster.

I'm playing too much Overwatch because that fan the hammer skill of his can only remind me of the "McCree is OP" business going on.

Guns, dawg, dem guns. Somebody with the ability to actually hit what they aim at with near 100% accuracy perhaps should be placed on a tier above human? Perhaps an opponent that can survive more than a few bullets or is good at using cover would work?

Zande is also an option, as he has neither guns nor superhuman powers (discounting the berserker brew, which I use only for low-tier matches).

I'd easily put them in powered tier even if they were just an average guy with a gun. His destructive power combined with accuracy will mean I'll be leaning more towards the low end of mid powered.

I'll also need to come up with some anti-gun characters.

EDIT: Wow. Biggest spam in the interest check ever.

One fun anti-gun concept i came up with is basically this:

First of all, the nature of the forcefield itself must be explained.

It is a purely magical construct, with certain physical properties differing from ordinary matter: the reason behind this is a so-called unified energy supply. In normal matter, energy is distributed between discrete molecular and atomic bonds - in the same piece of matter, one group of bonds may break, while the other will stay perfectly fine. However, within a magic forcefield, all particles share the same supply of energy, meaning that no single bond may break or be otherwise strained without every other bond experiencing the same effect; the resulting effect is what one could call perfect dissipation, the clones either imperceptibly 'deflating' under the force of an impact, each and every bond compressing, or instantly disintegrating when the limit of their energy supply is exceeded.

In other words, it can tank hits regardless of how small the point of impact, and thus, how big the resulting pressure is, which works marvels against bullets, as even some rifle cartridges are roughly just twice as powerful as a simple kick.

My most obvious anti-gun is like a ninja magneto. She can alter bullet flight paths where even someone who shoots 100% accurate would miss and there's nothing they could do about it besides hope she's not focusing on their bullets. with her reaction times able to keep up with bullets as easily as softballs, you're in major doo doo if that's all you rely on. Then if she gets close enough she could fling people around who has any metal on them, such as armor, or shoot objects like a railgun. She can magnetize anything, but would need to touch it.

That's a high-brass counter though, as it provides both considerable power and versatility on top of dicking over your run of the mill gun user pretty hard.

I'm a bit fonder of the more subtle ways myself, such as indirect projectiles that can be launched from cover, temporary barriers, visual hindrances, stealth and tactical movement (the latter needs a meticulously detailed arena map though), or things that fall in their own category, such as that forcefield. Serves to balance guns out to the point where they are challenging, fair and don't require direct interaction, such as dodging or metallokinesis, to reasonably avoid.

I said anti-tank but I meant anti-gun. She's not good at moving large quantities of mass at once, so would struggle greatly lifting a tank even if touching it. Magneto is much larger scale than her, but she has other advantages over him in close range against smaller objects. She's super duper versatile, but drop a bridge on her and she's done for.

Donny could only realistically win if he snuck an explosive somewhere she doesn't notice, but he'd likely be super dead before that happened as she'd be railgunning him to pieces while deflecting his bullets. Pepper spray could also work well against her to negate her ability but obviously far too difficult to deliver that attack successfully.

In most situations Donny wouldn't stand a chance against her. He's a walking tool shed, with tons of fodder that she could use against him. If he pulled out his razor wire, she'd probably cut him in half with his own weapon. There are a few situations in which he may win, but I'd say 85% of the time and with no prep, your character would wreck Donny.

Outside of that, Donny's selling point is that he avoids straight fights and uses as much practical realism as possible. His signature attack is the gun behind the coat shot.

Donny let out a loud, panicked scream as Gweyr whipped out her glaive. Just the sort of reaction you'd get when aiming a knife at some random nerd. But Donny came from a different place than Gweyr. Where he was from, life and death were matters to be resolved in an instant. Anyone could kill anyone with a little luck and a bullet in the back. Out here, you didn't brandish a weapon unless you were going to use it. You didn't pull out a blade and try to talk things over. You either killed, or got killed, and though tricks are petty, a good one never needs to be used twice against the same enemy.

Donny turned clockwise as if about to flee, as any sane pedestrian would after some nutty chick got medieval in a dark alley. Donny's scream would have muffled the ratcheting click of the Magnum being cocked as it was drawn, Gweyr seeing just his left side and nothing else.

An old gunslinger trick. If you want to pull a piece on someone so they don't see the barrel poking through your coat, turn your flank to them and aim along your abdomen with the gun flat against you. Keep your shooting arm out of sight so they don't see the bend in your elbow.
No protrusions, no clues, no chance. Especially when the victim is a shy, moral girl who probably wouldn't kill a man, however creepy, who seemed about to flee as was requested of him.

The revolver was aimed for Gweyr's midsection. If the large round struck, it would bore an impressive, clean hole straight through her solar plexus, between the lungs, into the aorta, and out through the spine.

His bulletproof vest handles the heat of the chamber flare. It's a sure kill against pretty much any opponent that isn't a bullet timer or a mind reader. If another character were to have a good chance against Donny, they'd have to be able to handle some real dirty tricks. Sneak attacks are his bread and butter. It's a long shot to say he even fights in the first place, unless you could call stabbing someone in the back a fight.

Did Gweyr make it out alright?

I wouldn't use ninja magneto because either winner will win without much of a fight, as you say, depending on if he tricks her or not rather then us getting a good fight. Even though Evvie's a higher tier she'd likely get demolished, so she's out unless I use the one from my multiverse who's not nerfed. who would in turn crush him and tank all his attacks. Ria from the multiverse is peak human and has a scifi weapon but would likely loose. I'd like to use her for something due to her only, so far, not getting a single hit in anywhere, but against him is not the place.

I'll need to come up with a new character idea that's not such a hard counter as ninja magneto.

On a side note, know the "roast me" meme on Reddit where people post a picture of themselves to get insulted in good fun? I can imagine that for some of my characters taking part in it. XD

I'm gonna make a character roast thread then. I like that idea.

Gweyr survived that shot, for her continuous walking backwards made it miss her head, despite the shot being aimed for the body and Donny being the sort of marksman that doesn't miss like some Nazi on Indiana Jones. But it was the very start of the fight and I felt that I could let it slide. Donny's so ruthless that I actually feel guilty about using him sometimes.

Character roast thread would probably be in the spam section. It would work well on deviantart with a picture of them holding the "roast me" sign for the people to post about the character. Maybe a group could be made for that concept on there.

How about some feedback on my newest character? Took inspiration from Child's Play for the body change ability. In fact it's the exact same fucking power. Any characters he swaps with, I'll use their character sheet images to replace Suliss's.

Funny if wrack hits a masochist. She avoids death from the shock of pain thanks to the pure pleasure of the situation and then kills him while he's left completely baffled.

Still haven't come up with my character to fight your gun fairly for both of us.

So, who's still around? Most of the ShinRa guys hopped over to GCL (where I am at the moment) Pollen has been AWOL from illness for a while, Innue* dissapeared rather abruptly perhaps due to power failure followed by the complete destruction of their computer, Rilla has a little version of himself to chase down, Skallagrim is solidly AWOL, perhaps forever, and a lot of the others have drifted off into other parts of the site.

I am starting to worry that maybe the Arena isn't coming back this time, in which case I did the duty of any good sailor by jumping ship early at the first sign of sinking. Wait, I was supposed to go down with my ship? I thought that was only captains?

Gaian Combat League, its hosted on Gaia Online, Darth conscripted me to it a couple months back. Its a tournament/league with a fair few active fighters, though they could probably use more to fill in some drop outs. It's fairly low tier though.

I'm hangin' tight. Hundreds of roleplayers frequent this site, and it's only a matter of time until some of them notice the Arena and drop in. Might not be many, might not be any, but I'll be ready to have some violent fun with anyone who pokes a head through the door.

Besides, if the Arena does manage to somehow get itself removed, then I'll have an excuse to post a good old fashioned Kumite in the Casuals.
