Your character may not have any item which demonstrates the bias of a god (God created the World and that which is within, no more relics then the firsts) towards your character. (gods are honor bound to serve reality holistically) (they are only biased towards principals, not individuals or groups) {this rule does not apply to demons, as those are games of trickery and debt}
The possession of an Enchanted Item must be rationalized appropriately.
Potions need sources.
Spells with criteria require sources for all the material used. To justify your lifestyle and preparedness.
Do we have relics in our world? ; group decision. (yes/no/maybe?)

species which Are Not present? ; group decision. (ie. Dwarves, Orcs, goblins etc.. these change and alter the archtype varieties of our characters lives)

Politics are standard: Rivalry, selfishness, human attitude, loyalty, guilds, debt , Fear (of magus, masters and the consequence of failed casting attempts) etc... - are all relative to acquiring/experience with magic. And so, in your profiles, you will be expected to account for settings.
- Magic should Not be more common than 7/10-1, 14/17-1 or even 20+ to 1. so this needs addressing -

Alright, as no one replied. We will move on to phase 3
phase 2 summary: NO Draconians or Warcraft style orcs (as they are too awesome to take from their creators as though they are Open-source). We will however have various forms of lizard humanoids, ogres and ghouls.
All other standard fantasy genre creatures are valid, as well as exceptional additions you feel inclined to add (with descriptions and hopefully, archtypes to account for the behaviour of the creatures.)

No elven players (you may request an explanation at a later time {it is not merely the immortality}.)

I was sort of anticipating a Page to be started by LeeRoy, but it is not important now. I will begin by handing out the Profile Sheets after everyone agrees to the Code. They are intended to be in your Personal Messages. To keep the method of approach privileged, and the character development 'secluse' but I ... *sigh* I will send them in private.

The Profiles serve to ensure that if God-modding is detected the accused must be able to account for the competency of the character coherently in their character profile; to ensure that you bring a mortal, lifelike character forward.

The Code:
In this profile include the emotional or intelectual or phsyical relation the character has to the experience.
If your character is limited to physical relations he is not a competant caster, and your application was fraudulent.
so please include sentiment, as it helps us understand intuition, motivation, inspiration, comprehension.. - all of which are very important for the character's development.
NO involvement in Time travel + no favor from Time travel. No factual time travel - although it can be used as a reference to some form of inspiration.

Combat will be turn based. Written in real time, and posted as edited submissions afterwards, by both parties. Interruptions will be introduced as an audience and then a similar form will be submitted by the third combatant after a turn based Duel(in that submission). the previous fighters will then submit their perspectives on that event + relative information. and so forth.

You said no elves, but is it be okay if my character is a half-elf?

In truth, I'm having a hard time staying interested in this. I still fail to find the premise. I can't tell if this is a spar of mages, or a world building, long-haul storyline.

Firstly, it seems we are not only required to totally rewrite our characters(or more than likely make completely new ones) how you would see fit, but it also seems mandatory that our character be altered to fit in... whatever this happens to be at this point.

So I'd like to know. What exactly are you looking for with this? I have been under the assumption this would be a run of the mill battle of magical archetypes for crown of Best Magus or something to that affect. What we have here seems far more intensive and convoluted.

@Divinity Although I have not taken it upon myself to formally write my own profile yet, to make it fare, You are not required to remake your characters at all. You simply can't have them march around wearing an Ass-hat and still participate in the duel. Use any of your characters, developed or not, and coherently express their competency and the reasons in the profile sheets I have prepared.
~ If you feel I have forced you to make your character conform. please express any conflicts of interest in your character, technique or world preference. You skipped a day of considering that topic. So we went with:
- NO being an elf [for good reasons] & no Draconians or Warcraft Orcs in the world.
- Meanwhile you can't hold 'excaliber'[epic items*] nor have a god's peculiar favor.~

Pure Sparing ~ with no ass-hats (mary sue - God modding); Which was specified in the First Comments I made.

there is only one way to verify the validity of your persona. accounting for it* Otherwise, we're without a standard for conduct in battle, and your power limits are irrational and unproportional, and without regulation.

Except the arena has clearly defined rulesets (default and otherwise) that would prevent your so feared 'ass-hatting' and power-scales that is such a threat to your skill. This convoluted mission hardly seemed enjoyable following the first post in this thread.

Insulting others who only want to voice an opinion or ask questions also isn't a good way to get noticed. Respond with as much self righteous vitriol as you like. You may report me as well, but I assume that will do as much good as even starting this topic. That is to say not much.

I almost feel rattled... but the legitimate term is, 'compelled'.

The question was not of my patience, but of my virtue. I had no problem trying to be amiable and work with you. My problem lies in the inherent restrictiveness and unnecessary level of complexity shewn here. It just doesn't seem like it would be a fun duel for me. My combat apathy simply won't allow me to alter my character or write a new one to satisfy a single challengers demand.

On that note, I wish you luck with your endeavor regardless fellow Magus.

I never asked for you to change your character.
The parameters of the duel and of the realm should have in no way effected your person.
but I never asked Corban to register, and I never rejected him. - - - - And I won't. My character comes from humble beginnings and has not become noticeably exuberant, but I never required that from anyone else (@Framing a Moose).

Unprecedented maneuvers or capabilities. [All determined by a Private-chronicle to justify the sources of power, and the character's experience with it - In a world where Magic is not Just handed out to every potential imbecile, unrecognized youth, and threatening bigot {Nor understood by**}.]
I expect all this information to be recorded ahead of time, so that as a group or council we can determine the justified excuses if there is any indiscrepancies.

You are responsible for building a character. Logically, you should have no more than 2 masteries, but you can have infinite varieties of knowledge if you've accommodated for them in your character's time, according to your resources. I am not limiting your masteries though. your chronicle does that for me, at your leisure.
