"And after two-thousand years, The Four Towers were completed. Located at the Northern, Southern, Eastern & Westernmost points of the planet, the Towers stood as beacons dedicated to the first survivors. Where they were once used as markers to help guide the Wandering Islands, they are now homes to thousands of people and central hubs for all life upon the Eternal Ocean. Hundreds of levels make up the towers above water but below the ocean, the foundations remain as strong as the resolve of the forefathers, who struck down the tyrant-God, Atlaias."

Welcome to Ocean Horizon! If you have chosen to join in on the adventures of the Eternal Ocean then please read the information below. It will be paramount to your survival within this perilous world!
1. All site rules most definitely apply within this Roleplay.
2. I am the sole GM. If there is a disagreement, my word will be final on the matter. After that, all discussion about the disagreement will cease, unless you decide to take it to PMs.
3. This Roleplay will be PG-13. That means cursing and strong violence will be apart of the writing. Smut will not be tolerated, but vague nudity may be described as long as it remains within the site rules.
4. I'm expecting at least Two Paragraphs of decent writing per post for this RP. However, I understand that writer's block is a thing and can be extremely annoying.
5. Posts back and forth between two people in quick succession is usually frowned upon in roleplays so please avoid doing so. If you're interacting with another player specifically, please just write a collab post using TitanPad or Sync.in.
6. I already have some storyline ideas hashed out but I am always willing to take on new ideas. However, before pitching me your idea, make sure you think of everyone in the Roleplay and not just your own character.
7. To add onto the above, I only plan on this Roleplay being a Maximum of Four story arcs long. This is to keep it short and sweet, somewhat, so that the Roleplay doesn't become stale. If your idea doesn't make it into this Roleplay, it will likely make it to the next one.
8. Fun is a mandatory requirement for this Roleplay.

THE OCEAN HORIZON
This is where most of the RP will take place, onboard this ship. It is a completely unique Sky Ship, having been constructed over two-thousand years before the start of the roleplay as an experimental warship to be used in the fight against Atlaias. As such, it is far more armoured than your typical Sky Ship and comes with ancient prototype Cryslock weaponry that was added to the ship before it was publicly known that the Light Crystals could be weaponized.
The captain of the ship is none other than the infamous Shardseeker, Fletcher G. Payne. How he came to be the owner of the Horizon is shrouded in mystery, even to the highest of crew members, but many suspect that it was the Immortal Archivist Cagen who had a hand in saving the ship from destruction and possibly handing it over to Captain Payne.
The Horizon is widely known by the World Navy and has been issued with a 'Destroy on Sight' order against it due to it's involvement in illegal piracy under the command of Captain Fletcher. It is also easily recognized amongst the many Pirate Factions and sought after as one of the highest prizes to steal. Because of this, there are many who try to board the ship during battles but no attempt has ever succeeded.
SHARDS OF ATLAIAS & LIGHT CRYSTALS
Moments before the Ocean God flooded the planet, he dispersed thousands of crystal shards that contained remnants of his power. Some of these Shards, through many various means, have ended up embedded within the survivors of Humanity, gifting them with mysterious powers and abilities. The Shards have also been ingested by some of the ocean life and have transformed them into mega evolved beings.
The remaining power was retained within the water. Even though that power was more spread out, it still had the ability to effect the minerals and creatures that live beneath the water, creating Light Crystals that can store and enhance light energy and evolve some sea life into larger beings.
SKY PIRATES
There are many different factions of Sky Pirates who fly above the Eternal Ocean using ships powered by light energy. They scour the planet, doing whatever they like and looting who ever they come across. They frequently have skirmishes against The World Navy. Notable factions include: The Shardseekers, The Night Panthers, The New Order & The Reapers.
THE WORLD NAVY
The World Navy is a united military force that patrols the Eternal Ocean to prevent attacks against humanity. They also organise mining operations that send unmanned drones beneath the Ocean to collect and gather valuable resources. They have several run ins with the various factions of Sky Pirates. Notable members include: Fleet Admiral Obadiah, Admiral Thune, Commander Lox, Commander Dethser & Commander Saturday.
CREATURES
Because the planet is covered in water, most, if not all of the wildlife are ocean-dwelling beings. They can range from Sea Serpents and Giant Squid to Razorback Sharks and Gigators. Most of these creatures have been altered by Shards of Atlaias but there still remain large populations of fish, eel and many other species that live beneath the waves.
There are many classes of ship as well as Sky and Sea-based craft that sail around the world. Generally, there are five main classes of ship for both Sky and Sea craft.
SKY SHIPS
SKY SHIPS
They can range from massive flying fortresses to small-scale fighter craft. They are powered by Light Crystals and are used for all manner of tasks such as trade, logistics and piracy. They come in five classes:
- Phantom-Class: Heavy, Battle-Purposed Capital Ships. They certainly pack one of the hardest punches and are definitely the most armoured class. These ships are a refinement of the original Sky-Barge that were built to battle against Atlaias. Once airborne, they never make port again, requiring the need for smaller transport ships to deliver supplies and resources. Very deadly against Geists and Spectres. Can stand toe-to-toe with a Wraith but may not survive due to low speed and low rate of fire. They carry the most amount of fighter craft, being able to unleash a full amount of twenty-five fighters. There are only five Phantom-Class ships in existence and each one is uniquely different to the others in design, having been personally designed by Archivist Cagen.
- Wraith-Class: A heavy warship built for combat. Several cannons and armor plating helps keep them in the air. They can easily dish out the most damage per second, due to their high-powered cannons and higher rate of fire than Phantoms. However, they are slow when compared to Spectres and Geists. This doesn't stop them from being very deadly against all other classes, however. They can carry up to fifteen fighters to deploy at once during battle.
- Geist-Class: Fast, lightly armored ships. It can potentially match the Wraith in damage output, depending on the armaments fitted. However, their light armour means they wouldn't stand a chance in a prolonged engagement. They are the most popular Ship Class in production, being a considerable amount cheaper to construct and are particularly deadly against Spectres. They can carry up to fifteen fighters to deploy at once during battle.
- Spectre-Class: Light, fast, support ships. The Spectre was built so the Factions could quickly send support ships to aid transports or turn the tide of a battle. They are lightly armoured for manoeuvrability and are most deadly against Geists and Phantoms. They can only carry five fighters into battle due to their need for being fast.
- Sylph-Class: Extremely light, supremely fast fighter-craft. They are deployed during air battles to cause havoc and chaos as well as attacking specific points of an airship. If left unnoticed, they can quickly strip larger ships of armour and weapons and specifically target personnel on the upper decks.
Here you can see the four main classes of Sky Ship. The two largest are Phantoms, the next largest are Wraiths and Geists and the smallest ships are Spectres.
NAVY SHIPS
The Navy Ships are essentially just seafaring equivalents of Sky Ships in both size and battle capability. The five classes are: Victory-Class; Destroyer-Class; Halcyon-Class; and Corvette-Class. The fighter-craft are the same Sylph-Class ships as they can be launched from both Navy and Sky Ships.
SUBCLASSES/HYBRIDS & VARIANTS
There are a few Sub-Class Ships that perform specific roles during battle. These are as follows:
- Shade-Class: A Subclass of the Spectre. A Shade-Class ship has been retrofitted specifically for stealth. It utilizes its light weight and speed to escape most situations, although it does possess some very powerful Crystal Mines that can be used somewhat offensively or defensively. The stealth technology invented for these ships makes extensive use of the crystal shell that makes up most of the Light Crystals. Special Crystal-plating has been used to coat the ship which can reflect and in some case refract light, making the Shade difficult to spot.
- Vigor-Class: A Subclass of the Spectre. A Vigor-Class ship is built a little larger than a normal Spectre and comes more heavily armoured. In fact, its armour rating is on par with that of a Wraith-Class ship. However, Vigor-Class ships are used solely for transportation. There are two main variants of a Vigor-Class; Personnel and Cargo. Aptly named Vigor-Class-P & Vigor-Class-C. They are easily piloted and are by far the most highly produced ship in the world. Due to their integral role in assisting Phantom-Classes, many opponents will often try to take out any Vigor-Class ships that might be in the vicinity.
There is only one known Hybrid-Class in the world:
- Nephesh-Class: A Hybrid between a Wraith-Class and a Geist-Class. When the ship classes were originally designed, the Nephesh-Class was actually supposed to take the place of the Wraiths and Geists. However, the special resources required to create the perfect balance between the classes made it impossible for the Nephesh-Class to be mass produced. As such only one ship was ever constructed as a prototype; The Ocean Horizon.
SHIP WEAPONRY
These different ship armaments utilise much larger Light Crystals as energy batteries. Each type of weapon is specially designed to project the raw light energy in various ways.
- Rail-Cannons are your long-range batteries, usually found on Wraiths or Phantoms. They have a very large radius but are at their most powerful at full range. They take up a lot of energy when fired and require at least 2-3 minutes to charge. An average Light Crystal will only produce four shots before needing to be replaced.
- Buckshot-Cannons are short-range, powerful cannons that are good for wide-spread destruction. They are usually found on Wraiths, Geists or Phantoms. They have a very short range and are at their most powerful when fired up close and personal. They use massive amounts of energy so an average Light Crystal will produce only two shots before needing to be reloaded.
- Repeater-Cannons are your mid-range automatic cannons. They are found on all classes but in various sizes:
Points - The smallest size Repeater, found exclusively on Phantoms for point defense against fighter-craft. (200 shots)
Facers - The next size up, found exclusively on Spectres. Usually at the front, hence the name. (100 shots)
Spinners - Found on Spectres, Wraiths and Geists. They are called spinners because they can rotate 360 degrees. (80 shots)
Boomers - The largest size Repeater, found exclusively on Phantoms. These are semi-automatic cannons because they create a lot of force when fired. (20 Shots)
- Crystal Mines are overloaded Light Crystals exclusive to Shades. These create large explosions when hit that can potentially cripple Phantoms. A Shades can only carry five of these, max.
THE FOUR TOWER CITIES
The Four Tower Cities are massive constructs located on opposite points of the planet. The North, South, East and West. These towers are embedded deep into the planet below. The cities are built into the Towers and contain hundreds of levels. Each Tower is owned and ruled by a different group or person and remain independent from each other, though they are generally considered as allies.
Northern Tower: City of Ra
The Northern Tower is where the World Navy is commanded from. It is generally regarded as the City that tries to govern the entire population and is more of a massive military fort than a Tower City. There are several military schools based here and most of the citizens are current, retired or aspiring members of the World Navy. The waters surrounding the tower are deemed safe because of the heavy Navy presence and many patrols that span the majority of the northern spherical cap. These waters have been claimed by the World Navy and require legitimate pass credentials to enter. Many Pirate Factions have been known to fly over these waters and wage war against the Navy but none of them have ever made it to the City of Ra.
Southern Tower: City of Shoel
The Southern Tower is known to be the oldest of the Four Towers and is notably home to the Immortal Archivist Cagen, who presides over the Tower City much-like a governor or mayor, rather than a King. Shoel is said to be the 'City of Knowledge' or the 'Tower of Light' due to the vast libraries and industrial factories that research and produce many different Light Crystal inventions. This is also the home of every single Sky Ship, where they were designed and constructed. The sky surrounding the Tower is filled with colossal-sized Sky Ships that act as extensions of the City, providing massive ship factories as well as homes. There remains a heavy presence of Light Guard; an independent Sky Faction loyal to protecting Cagen and the Tower. Shoel is by far the most populated Tower and is open to anyone, even Pirates, so long as they abide by the Light Guard's Laws of non-violence. This Tower claims no waters or airspace except within its' immediate vicinity. It has never been attacked though it is well known that the leaders of the World Navy have considered doing so on many occasions to gain dominance over the population of the Eternal Ocean.
Western Towers: The Broken Spires
The Western Towers were once just a single Tower by the name of Lendilis, however, it was separated by a massive quake said to have been caused by the mythical Deep-Sea Dragon; Qualtorrix. After this event, the two pieces of the Tower were rebuilt as the Broken Spires and renamed. The taller of the two now being called Neberziel and the smaller Tower now called Noretis. The Spires are generally free from ownership and run more by the people living there. The population are separated into Unions that deal with the various needs of the Towers and vote on actions to be taken regarding the future of the Spires. They are a free place to live and generally attract the darker figures of humanity. They welcome any and all, including Pirates, but do not stand for violence against the Spires. Their main outsource happens to be mercenary Sky Factions who offer their services of protection for financial gain. More than a few Pirate Factions call the Broken Spires home as they can generally be considered the place to go if you wish to join a Crew. Leaders of the larger Pirate Factions will usually attend Council meetings, known as the 'Spire Moot', alongside the Union Leaders to weigh upon the actions and directions of the Spires. Due to this, The World Navy does not consider the Spires to be an ally but neither do they name them as enemies.
Eastern Tower: Pyramid of Horus
The Eastern Tower isn't actually a Tower but a massive Pyramid, hence the name. It is owned and ruled by a man named Nasir Al-Khaled who often likes to refer himself as an Emperor. The Pyramid of Horus, also known as the Golden Point, the Eastern Tip or simply Horus, is home to the second-largest population count. This is because Horus is the trade-capital of the Eternal Ocean. Many people visit here to buy and sell weaponry, jewels, Light Crystal stocks, ships, cargo and everything else. If you need to make a significant purchase, your best bet is to visit the Pyramid. It is heavily protected by various Mercenary Sky Factions hired by Al-Kaled to stave off Pirate attacks. As such, Pirates are not welcome, however, if a Pirate Captain agrees to pay a certain amount for entry into the skies claimed by Nasir, they can consider themselves in good favour with the self-titled Emperor and be allowed to enter the City. From then on, the Captain will need to pay the same fee every time his enters Nasir's airspace. These claimed skies are heavily patrolled by the Mercenary factions and take up most of the Eastern Hemisphere. There are frequent skirmishes between Nasir's Mercenary Factions and the World Navy due to overlapping territorial claims of the Northern Eastern section of the globe. The two Towers do not consider themselves to be at war, even despite the multiple ceasefire discussions that have always broken down and resulted in further fighting.
THE WANDERING ISLANDS
The Wandering Islands are massive, barge-like constructs that traverse the Eternal Ocean acting as mobile Port-Cities for Sky Ships and Navy Ships. They were the first cities that hosted the survivors of Atlaias' wrath. These barge-cities were also used to build the Four Tower Cities as well as constructing the very first Sky Ships. There are currently four Major Cities known as: New Haven, Verdante, Jarrah & Atro. There are smaller Wandering Islands, however these are often inhabited by Sky Pirate factions.
The Wandering Isle of Jarrah is considered to be an extension of Horus that sails the Eternal Ocean acting as a smaller, portable version of the Pyramid City. The same rules apply for Jarrah with regards to Pirates.

(Describe your Character's personality)
Weapons & Equipment:
Weapons are separated into Swords, Bows and Cryslock Firearms.
- The swords can be Katanas, Rapiers, Broadswords and Greatswords and are generally made from Pig Iron, White Iron, Black Steel or Damascus Steel. (in ascending order of material quality and rarity)
- The Cryslock weapons can be Pistols, Muskets, Rifles and Blunderbusses. Each one serves a different purpose; Close-Range Accuracy, Medium-Range Accuracy, Long-Range Accuracy and Short-Range Power. These weapons all utilize specially refined Light Crystals as ammo. The mechanisms within the guns are designed to release the light energy stored within the crystals in such a way that the hardened crystal shells are propelled out of the barrel like musket shots.
Shard Ability:
Members of the Shardseekers are unique amongst Humanity in that they possess Divine Abilities passed on by Atlaias himself. The Abilities obtained from Soul Shards allow them to perform amazing feats and enhance themselves in ways that evolve them beyond the normal human beings. These abilities include: Pyromancy(Fire), Hydromancy(Water), Aeromancy(Air), Cryomancy(Ice), Electromancy(Lightning), Theomancy(Foresight), Avimancy(Summoning an Avian Familiar), Carnomancy(Enhanced Strength, Speed or Durability).
There are other types that have yet to be discovered but we will likely encounter those upon our journey.
In regards to power levels, just remember that we'll be on a Sky Ship for the majority of this RP, that means that we won't be seeing insane destruction from these abilities like in Fairy Tail or Naruto. The range of these powers will be much closer and personal to the user. I wouldn't expect to see anything more powerful than the Signs of the Witcher 3, although these are generally quite powerful in their own right.
Furthermore, there will most likely be some of you who have not yet discovered their Shard Ability and may be something you want to work towards finding within the RP.
Brief History:
(Give a brief history of how your Character became a Pirate. Feel free to discuss with me how you ended up aboard the Ocean Horizon. It's more than likely that my character saved your life at some point since his job is to search for other Shard Users.)
Relationships:
(Tell us about your character's relationships with the other crew members. Do they get on well a certain member or is there a special rivalry with someone? Who do they admire and look up to? Is there a certain someone they're in love with?
Be sure to discuss this in the OOC thread with each other. Our characters are gonna be a close-knit crew so you'll need to come up with relationships between them.)
