Netherplay Games has come out with revolutionary new Virtual Reality technology. Working round the clock this corporation has remastered hundreds of thousands of classic games from the arcade era all the way till the early twenty first century for use in their new program. People are lining up across the world to purchase or rent these new systems. However something (as with any story regarding VR) goes horribly wrong. Only days after the VR systems are first brought online a malignant virus in the source code causes the various gaming worlds to cross connect over the multiplayer servers creating a massive world amalgamated from ever retro game imaginable. Worse than this however is the fact that anyone engaged in the VR's system at the time of the viruses activation was trapped within world, the fictional backstories of whatever character they happen to be playing overriding their own sense of self. Journey with these video game heroes and villains as they struggle to understand what has happened to them, and the calamity that has befallen their world. Will they ever escape the VR system and regain the personas of those they used to be? Only time will tell.

Alright aside from hitting twelve out of twenty narration and opening cliches that intro might not have been as clear as it could have been so this is the basic idea. An enormous VR network has a massive glitch that has caused it to merge bits and pieces of all of the various video game worlds it has stored in its database. On launch these were "retro" games so basically anything that we have today and everything prior, ranging from arcade games to final fantasy IV to Halo to Mario to Ratchet and Clank to Zelda to Fall Out. Anything you like. We will be playing as the people that were currently engaged in the VR system when the glitch occurred. However as part of the glitch everyone's minds have been overwritten with the backstory and memories of whatever character they were playing as. So essentially this is going to be a giant mash up of whatever various video game characters anyone wants to play. We'll start off at base levels of course and I can make case by case decisions about power levels depending on who you want to play since villains are generally stronger off the bat than heroes. Certain alterations can be made to characters depending on who they are to allow them to more easily exist in this new gaming world. For example, if you wished to play as Wheatley from Portal 2 you might find it difficult as he is a robotic sphere, in that instance we could give him something like a robotic body though any such changes would be new in terms of when the glitch occurred so anyone playing Wheatley he would remember being a Core at Aperture Science and as such would have to become used to his new body.





This RP will be widely shaped by those that join it as it is nearly entirely driven by character development.

I am an avid gamer but I am not an expert on all things gaming. I may make mistakes if you bring a character from a series I am unfamiliar with. If this should happen I would ask that someone point it out to me and I will do my best to make the proper corrections. With that in mind I may end up relying on you guys if our group happens to go into an area from a game I have no knowledge of. I will do my research but Wikipedia can only get you so far.

Hello, Prince. After two recent nigh-immediate deaths of RPs I've gotten into, I think I'd be pleased to take interest in something run by someone I know to be reliable. It's been a while since I've been in a full-multiverse RP, and they're always fun so long as you get enough and dedicated people.

Seems of interest. Not sure if i wanna play Cirno or Taokaka again, or just go with somebody completely new. Maybe Travis Touchdown?

If you've any thoughts on which characters you want to play sooner rather than later would be better. Gives me time to do research into certain game series and whatnot.

I am interested in this though my character if I decide to use her, would be human so no super powers, being immortal or being OP in any way. However, the second character I have in mind does have powers, well one of the two does anyway.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the playable character from Magicka is a Cutout Protagonist. By that I mean he possesses very little personality or story of his own to give those playing him the ability to envision themselves in his position.

Though if you're comfortable with that I don't have a problem with it as long as some ground rules are set about the magic and the magicks he can use. I played the first few levels of Magicka awhile back and seem to remember being able to blast people into bits with a massive lightning beam very early in the game.

Right now, I am most interested in playing one of the four:

Birdie, from Street Fighter V
Henry, from Fire Emblem Awakening
Velouria, from Fire Emblem Fates
Filia, from Skullgirls

Having a hard time narrowing it down, though.

The last time I played something like this one of the others was the Heavy. He was so thick that after Terra set off a massive fire explosion he thought she was what the Pryo looked like inside his flame suit, good times.

@Lugubrious I would say Henry but that's mostly because he's the only one of the four from a game I've actually played.

Just a note to everyone, for the moment at least I would like to keep it to one character per person. Depending on how much interest we get or if we become short handed I may revoke that for the moment one character per person.

The problem with Max and Chloe is they work better as a pair, the hard part is picking which one if I went that route.

@Prince of Seraphs In that case, I'm not sure who I should go with first? Can two at least work? But if one is whats simply required, you suggest to me which you find more appealing and I'll go with it.

I don't have a problem with Max as a character but her ability is another story. Her ability to travel through time to certain moments is gamebreaking, as in the plot of her game is about how her ability destroys the space time unless she lets her best friend die.

What I'm going for is a very large RP with various characters in different places and different objectives. If we can get the number of people that I'm hoping for also giving them multiple characters will make keeping track of everyone and everything very difficult. If it turns out we don't get that much interest I'll open it up for RPers to get more than one character.
