It was just an idea, maybe I am just too hungry for Intrigue now that GoT is through for this season. XD

Well there can still be intrigue. I mean, the two strongest noble houses in the Ardäin absolutely hate the king. Of course, things are still likely to be a bit more complicated since they're close relatives of the Queen.

Oooh, oh oh oh. I just had an idea. The head of one of the aforementioned noble houses rules from the Ardäin's only major port city and some of his sons are somewhat less traditional-minded than most Ardäinesch nobles. Perhaps one of them could be married to a daughter of one of Turchina's noble families, or perhaps it could happen during the course of the RP.

This looks really interesting. Are the areas to the south still open? I'd love to slide in on this just before it starts.

While I do believe that we're still accepting (but you'd need to ask the GM for certain), I'm pretty sure someone's already claimed that chunk in the south.

@TheMoatedGrange If I am not mistaken there is still quite some room. Right south of Turchina and its enclaves and East of Vohemia there is quite some room. Sevanne is out too I think, so that Space is open again. Not an official answer though.
Vohemia is a bit of the very devout backwater like place and Tuchina is a trading city based on the italian renaissance, with a mighty armada and a bit of influenced by the east.

@TheSovereignGrave I'd rather see it played out so it could happen over the course of the game. XD. I still need to write out characters for my Houses though. Well at least I have names for the Families and concepts outlined for them, and hey they have own coats of arms now, which is always nice.

Nah, that areas been claimed already. Map just hasn't been updated with the claim yet.

You'd have to talk to @bloonewb, since he already claimed that whole region.

Alrighty then, works for me. I can always give the Grand Duke a younger son who has yet to take a wife.

Oh that will be awesome, imagine grandly decorated Ships, Honour Guard in golden Armour. Banners everwhere, a traditional Turchinan Masked Carnival and so on...

Well not entirely. You could put a nation around those lakes and rives east of Choedal up in the northern part of the map. Though you'd have to make sure you don't accidentally claim anything already claimed by Beredia. You wouldn't even be the furthest to the East. Though, again, I'd wait for the GM to be certain.

And, best of all, it'd royally piss off King Alois. It's no secret that The Grand Duke dislikes him for the way the King treats his daughter and the King, well, he can be kind of paranoid sometimes. So he's not going to like his most powerful vassal (who hates him) creating marriage ties with a foreign realm.

@TheMoatedGrange I think the person who is playing Sevanne has pulled out, so I think there's free.

Also, don't listen to them. Vohemia is no backwater, Vohemia is greatest country.

I'll happily work with that land if it's free.

Most powerful Vassal, who then would finally have access to some more modern military units via his wife. I mean the main reason for Turchina for this marriage would be to open your nice River to ships and trade, but none the less there might be 'disnonourable' rifle battalions in the deal.

As I do believe we're getting close to starting, I have a question for my fellow role-players. Do any of your monarchs/rulers have any spare single sons? Edwynn has four daughters, and I think he'd love to get them married.

Well, his daughter-in-law. The Grand Duke himself is already married. :D And hey, the Grand Duke wouldn't complain about such a thing. Especially if the simmering conflict with the King becomes a bit... Hot.

Actually, do you wanna possibly collaborate on a post? Probably just a meeting with the Grand Duke at first to discuss things. I don't think the idea of a marriage would be there from the very beginning.

Well, I do. But one is a retard (and I mean that in the literal sense; he's mentally disabled) and the other is sickly invalid. So, you know, not great catches.

@Gendarme as Turchina is not a monarchy proper (Even though those greedy Marcellai actually are hording the Doge office for themselves) I will make sure to have suitable sons in one or two of Turchinas noble houses.

@TheSovereignGrave Sure, though I am just now actually fleshing out my families. Also the Doge himself is actually a bedridden old man, so it won't be him that attends. But I wanted to ask you myself once I at least have a few more names and short descriptions. XD

Well it doesn't necessarily have to be the Doge. Hell, it doesn't even have to be a Marcellaii. Could be one of the other noble houses looking to expand their own power. But it's up to you who you send in the end anyway. No pressure. :D

@Gendarme We discussed marrying the youngest daughter to Vohemia's prince and heir.I'm thinking because of the age difference that perhaps we could work with a betrothal instead? Regardless, I'd like to work out a deal with Rehabe on another matter anyway.

@Hygswitch Thanks for telling me!

@TheSovereignGrave Hmm. I see what you mean. Thanks!

@LloydTurquoiseI recall! A betrothal seems alright. So, what did you have in mind?

Walter Wake is twelve, and the sole heir of Qaelun, assuming it remains independent. This is also assuming his insane father and/or his obsessive mother would agree to such a thing. We are also a smaller nation that is something of an isolated backwater, so that should also factor into your considerations. You can read up on him in a little bit more detail (though not much more) on my nation sheet. If this interests you, feel free to pursue this in the course of the game. I'm looking forward to it!
