Greetings and welcome to this little recruitment post ;)

I'm running a DND 5e game, and we are looking for 1 or 2 more players to join our current cast of four (me, the DM, and 3 other players).

We usually play on Sundays, at 18 or 20 CEST, for 4 or 6 hours, depending on what works for our players that weekend, and we are using the online site of Roll20 for our games.

We are not using any pre-established campaign. In fact, we run a sandbox campaign, emphasizing player freedom and creativity, where players are free to go wherever they want, save whomsoever they want, plunder whomsoever they want, and get killed and eaten by whatever monsters they want.
The theme of the game is very inspired by realpolitikk meets fantasy, a world of diverse peopleand powerful lords batting heads together, a world of mostly grey and black, with genuine good guys being a curiosity. There is no grand campaign or big baddie, the players are simply living in a world of chaos and can do with it exactly as they wish.

Incidentally, our party has so far spent most of their time falling victim to powerful curses, almost starving to death repeatedly in the woods, being chased naked through said woods by the law, succeeding in accidentally bringing the plague to a foreign land, and failed every quest they have undertaken so far.
If you think you could change that, you are more than welcome!

If anyone is interested, feel free to give me a PM or note your interest in the thread.
We'd love to have more souls on our adventure! The more the merrier!

We have no requirements other than a will to have fun ;)

Interested.

Question: If you're playing on R20, are you using voice & video or text-only?

I'm a Pro/Mentor grade member on Roll20. I could also introduce you to a good group there.

Also, this sounds a bit like Game of Thrones meets a little bit of Skyrim but less heroic on the latter. Would that be a semi-accurate assessment?

That would be correct, @Tearstone ;)

Imagine what happens if it is not the writer that decides the course of the story, but the main characters and their own silly, if even random decisions.
That said, although the last session ended with the party blowing up their own rowboat with an accidental fireball(while on the river AND while still in it), they have been reasonably successful as of late. The level of "Heroic action" typically boils down to the decisions of the players, and their luck with the dice. Poor decisions coupled with bad rolls can make for more comedy rather than epic heroics, after all!

As for the theme of the RP, it actually can change quite a bit depending on where the party might choose to venture. A trip into the cursed kingdom of Tristan for instance might introduce some dark fantasy, whereas a journey into the independant farming republic of Erenia might feature a more happier setting(as long as nothing really bad happens!).

We mostly use voice chat. Ideally, we'd use video, however we ran into a lot of problems/connection issues when we last tried, so for now we only use voice.
(both our voice and video is done on Skype)

As for myself, I can't say I'm that familiar with the pro/mentor grade status on Roll20, as I am for the most part a surface user. You should tell me something about it.

(Sorry about the late reply. I've not been on much lately, and I almost forgot this thread existed after 18 days)

Have any spots left? I'm not familiar with 5th edition's rules, but I could study up beforehand to be prepared.

Indeed, @Speedwagon, we still have one spot left.

As for the rules, they are actually quite simple, and our group is generally more than happy to help out with learning the ropes on the go.

If you wish, we can do any questions in PMs if you wish.
