Name: Thule Alexander
Age: 106 years old
Appearance:House: Did not attend Hogwarts.
Wand: Leave blank, the wand chooses the wizard.
Personality:
To those that meet Thule for the first time, they would be surprised by his manner; What at first appears to be an absolute monster who has traded everything in his pursuit of dark power and possible immortality is in what quite civil, often allowing himself to process a charm and dry, cynical wit that one would not expect.
Stranger still is his manner when it comes to his students; While he expects and demands a high standard from his students and he can be quite harsh
and creative when someone does something stupid (He tends to come down harder on those who should know better but do it anyway then someone who did it out of ignorance, but not by much), he is a surprisingly caring, helpful person when it comes to the needs of his charges. If a student is having trouble with his subject, he will happily take them aside and offer them some one on one time to try and find some way to assist them in understanding what he is trying to teach, regardless of if they are from the most long lived of noble families or are some muggle born child straight off the farm. It's just a little bit of his time after all and since he doesn't really need to eat or sleep anymore he has quite a far bit of it to make use of.
If Thule had to describe himself in one word, he would call himself 'Content'... Which has made more then a few people wonder how the Combat teacher of Hogwarts got to this point in his existence; He never speaks about his past in detail before he arrived at Hogwarts to teach over two decades ago, but his undead status and his vast and in-depth knowledge of dark magic and its uses suggests that there is a lot more behind the rather terrifying smile of Mr Alexander then he lets on.
Bio:Thule Alexander was not born as such; He was born Abas Stathos, the fourth child of the head of the small but powerful Stathos family in Athens, Greece. Much was expected from him even at an early age, even if no one actually expected him to truly raise up high in the family; His eldest two brothers were groomed to take over the leadership of the family (In the event that the eldest died), whereas all he would at best form a branch family, but family pride still dictated that he be well educated and able to represent them if need be. Despite the pressure put on him, Abas always felt proud of his family and loved them dearly.
When Abas was fifteen the Stathos family went to war with the equally powerful Petras family, a blood feud that had existed for longer then Abas's father had been alive. Things quickly went bad for the Stathos family when the allied Rossos family betrayed them, entering their estate under the pretense of pooling their forces only start murdering every Stathos member that they could find in service to the Petras.
Not all of the Stathos family died that day, but Abas would never encounter any other survivors of his house. Abandoning his home and former life with the clothes on his back and whatever money and food he was able to salvage, Abas fled Athens with tears in his eyes while hatred and pain coiled around his heart.
He wanted them to pay... the only thing that kept him going was his dreams of both the Petras and Rossos families being wiped from the face of the earth with much screaming and torturous agony; While he felt that it would only be right if the deed was done by his own hand, he knew that he wasn't anywhere near ready to try such a thing.
He needed to get stronger...
For decades, Abas traveled the world, finding whatever teachers he could that would take him on as a student in order to better prepare himself for the day that he would return home and decorate it with corpses. The dark arts offered him a means to do so and he was more then a willing student, willing to do whatever it took to gain the knowledge and power that he needed. More then once he turned to necromancy despite the fact that many considered it a fools branch of magic that no one had ever made work; At first it was in an attempt to bring his dead family back to life, but after decades of failed experiments Abas turned towards a new goal: Extending his life beyond its natural limits.
He feared (Somewhat rightly) that he would never achieve his desire for vengeance in a single lifetime after his body started to decay due to old age and his abuse of the dark powers. Unable to do more then delay his own death, he instead sort a way in which to transcend it; Grasping at the possibility of immortality because it was the only means of avenging his family.
He succeeded at a great price; embracing undeath and becoming something truly unnatural. As part of the ritual, Abas transferred part of his soul into his wand, boosting his magical power greatly. Now magically stronger then he had ever been in life, Abas returned home...
The Petras and Rossos families were not prepared for him; After more then seven decades of peace after the death of the Stathos family, they were caught completely off guard by the magic wielding monster that appeared and both estates in a single night and slaughtered all he could find in truly horrific fashions; their homes were cursed heavily to the point where no living thing would ever dwell there again, the corpses raised as twisted, mindless puppets to patrol the rooms and halls to ensure that no survivors of either family would ever be able to reclaim their birthright.
His vengeance taken and his family avenged, Abas found himself without purpose for the first time in his life. In fact, he found himself at peace for the first time since his family had been betrayed. Leaving his home for the last time, Abas found himself pondering what to do next when he remembered an old memory... a dream that he once had as a child but had abandoned a long time ago. He had wanted to be a teacher...
By chance, he heard that the magical school of Hogwarts in Britannia was seeking someone who could teach students in the magical methods of combat. Seeing it as something of a sign, he abandoned his old name and life and became Thule Alexander before making the journey.
Two decades later, he is still the teacher of combat.
Plotting: Thule is quite clearly a member of the undead, a fact that has caused a fair bit of unease among parents sending their children to the school. Despite pressure to sack him, Thule has managed to stay on due to his talent for his job and the high level of results he got from his students; The requests to sack him and complaints against him tapered off after Thule made it clear that anyone who sent such a request or complaint in to Headmaster Black because he was undead would have to accept his challenge to a duel to the death in return for insulting him and wasting the Headmaster's time. To date he has dueled and killed three people because of this rule.
He is a surprisingly friendly teacher to talk with. Feel free to come up and have a chat about something, be it because you need help with your work or just to ask advice from someone who has seen and done a lot.
Family: None. Thule is the last of his family and due to his status as a member of the undead he will not be having biological children. It will end with him.
