Across the galaxy in various isolated locations, multiversal rifts are opening and closing, dropping bits of flotsam and jetsam in uncharted bits of the Star Wars Galaxy. Near Geonosis, one such rift sends the Perelliator, a Behemoth-class Battlecruiser of the Terran Dominion, careening out into completely unfamiliar space. On the other side of the galaxy, another drops the UNSC Marathon-class cruiser Solar Winds directly out of Slipspace only a few parsecs away from Coruscant. With such events occurring across the galaxy...though not particularly frequently...the Jedi have taken notice and dispatched Jedi Master Greggory Wick and his padawan, Wrenu Tipolan, along with Jedi Master Olu Bumdoa, to the closest of these events thus far, the one bringing the Solar Winds. Meanwhile, Geonosis looms large on the Perelliator's scanners, with the ship in need of time to recharge its systems. The one thing in common in everyone's minds on both alien ships on either side of the galaxy is: Where the blazes are they?

I will take a brief moment out to lay out some rules.
1: I am the GM, right hand of God on this particular spot of the internet. Anger me not, for thou art crunchy, and go well with nachos. My words are law. (However I am benevolent, and willing to hear opinions with good arguments attached.)
2: No god-modding, meta-gaming, or all the usual whatnot that nobody loves.
3: No unveiling all the evil conspiracies in the galaxy all at once. Or more importantly, NO META-GAMING. This is Star Wars, or in other words, the easiest thing in the world to Meta-game. Don't do it. Resist the worse-than-dark side.
4: I am imposing a 48 hour post requirement. If you are waiting on someone else to post, that's fine...if you need an extension, tell me and you will have it...but if I see a lack of posting, I WILL find you. And warn you. And send bounty hunters to kill you.
5: We are still accepting applications from other people or existing players for second characters.

Oh, and I'm not actually in control of Admiral Magnus, I'm just a proxy for the person who is.

Now that that's done, EVERYONE MAY NOW BEGIN POSTING their intro posts. Do it. Now.

I mean it.

Mass confusion lines the unsc cruiser as it's inhabitants attempt to get a grasp on the situation. One moment they were on their way through the Scutum-Crux arm to verify the fates of missing unsc ships, the next red lights start flashing throughout the corridors. They had not yet reached their destination, so what could possibly be happening? Could it be the covenant? Unlikely, but considering the cargo this ship was carrying, it wouldn't be smart to risk that chance. Whatever these warnings are, it means we expect to be attacked soon, if not already.

Carrying her shotgun over her right shoulder, Savaymin walks uninvited onto the main bridge. One glance is enough to tell her that everyone else aboard is trying to figure out the situation as well. The chaos of the situation causes her to smirk briefly before returning to her serious demeanor. Cupping her hands over her mouth in order to amplify her voice, she shouts, "do any of you baboons know why the hell we are in a state of emergency and what the f*** is going on?" She waits for only five seconds before a voice speaks up behind her describing the issue.

"Magellan! I go to the bathroom for two minutes and we're in a different galaxy! Explain yourself!" The Admiral wailed as she stormed onto the bridge, no less confused than all other officers on deck.

Magellan, the Solar Wind's AI, took more than a few seconds to calculate what just happened. "We have unintentionally entered a slipspace portal. We have emerged on uncharted space. I cannot locate any information for the galaxy we are located in, Admiral Faye."

"Okay. Why did you activate the slipspace drive?" Asked the Admiral, before the AI retorted. "I did no such thing, Admiral. As I said, we ventured into an unidentified wormhole." The Admiral scoffed, taking off her beret and tossing it over a control panel. "Okay. So why didn't you /pilot/ us away from the wormhole?" [/i]

Magellan remained quiet for a second or two. "Unable to explain." The Admiral exhaled, deeply. "Robots these days."

"I am a construct of Artificial Intel--" "Shush. I know what you are. Someone, anyone, initiate a galaxy scan. Tell me we're not in covenant controlled space, or something."

"Done, Admiral." Replied one of her officers, currently working some magic on his respective control panel. "The nearest planet is several parsecs away. Unidentified, highly advanced civilization. I recommend we--" "Set a course." "Admiral, I--" "Set. A. Course."

Without further adiue, the Marathon Cruiser turned about, setting sail at decent trhuster capacity towards the grand Coruscant. The Admiral opened a channel on the intercomm, relaying a message throughout the entire ship for the entire crew.

"Attention all Personnel, We-- Wait, is the microphone on yet? No? Oh, it is? Wait, wait. Shit, this is awkward.
Attention all personne, I don't know where the fuck we are. Magellan piloted us into a-- "I did no such thing!" "Whatever. /Somehow/ , we entered a wormhole, and now we're in the middle of nowhere. There doesn't seem to be any Covenant in the sector, but we'll find out soon. We've set a course to the nearest planet, a few parsecs away. Scanners indicate a dangerously advanced civilization. Red alert, battle stations everyone. All spartans, and Captain Joseph, report to the bridge."

The admiral closed the channel, turning around to find one of her spartans making brief chat with another crewmember. "Apparently, Magellan drove us into a wormhole and now we're in uncharted territory. That's about all I know." Explained the cadet, before Pantera interrupted the two.

"Savaymin, you're here early. Good. You wouldn't happen to know what's keeping all your buddies so long, would you?" She asked, despite the fact that she /just/ asked all spartans to the deck only three seconds ago.

UNSC Spartans

A few seconds later, the bridge door opened again and three more Spartans strode in, though none of them were armed. The team leader, Commander Marholm, walked in front as they assembled before the admiral in dark blue, grey, and brown armor respectively. "Fireteam Ra, reporting as ordered, admiral."

Cindra Dubrovnik

Cindra bolts upright from her bunk at the sudden acceleration and shudder of the ship around her, springing into action and donning her hostile environment suit in record time. What could have happened? Cindra should have been alerted before a warp space jump. The Admiral knew darn well how touchy she could be when it came to hurtling through space without warning. And still, a warp space jump would've lasted longer, wouldn't it? Slipping into the corridor, she rubs the sleep from her eyes as she sprints towards the nearest mechanic. She grabs his shoulder, surprising him, and takes in his expression of panic in a second.
"What's happening? Zerg? We weren't scheduled for a jump for a good while yet...Well, don't just stand there. Status report. Now."
She usually wasn't this pushy, but she had made it clear that she wished to be informed before any jumps, and the admiral had agreed. Was he going back on that?
She catches only the words,
"Wormhole...unexpected...no idea..."
before she lets go of the stammering man and sprints down the hall to the control room. On entering, she descends into pure chaos. Mechanics and engineers running everywhere, technicians pounding away at terminals...a madhouse if ever she had seen one.
Cindra stalks straight up to the lieutenant and yells over the noise.
"Hey! I thought we agreed I was to be informed of jumps at a minimum of 2 hours prior to executing them! What's this about unexpected wormholes? Your men have the tech to detect these things for a reason!"
Looking out the main window at the foreign planet, she asks at the same volume, but with considerably more awe,
"...And where in the name of midget whiskers are we?"

Admiral Owen Magnus

Admiral Owen Magnus walks into the now chaotic bridge and calls out above the din, "Everyone quiet down. Now report, sensors."
The sensors officer replies hesitantly. "One star and one planet with a dense ring detected, nothing else close enough to detect on passive scans."
"Navigation"
"We flew right in to a "quiet" wormhole, systems are showing a complete blank as to our current location. Still working on how the wormhole got there, sir."
"Engineering"
"No damage reported, sir."
"Ok, sensors give me a full sweep, as far as it will give, I need to know what's out there. I am ordering the ship to level 1 alert, bring weapons online and start charging the warp drives, lets be ready for anything."

When the admiral asked her why her fellow spartans were running late, for some reason all she could think of was a bald, red-green color blind man having a seizure to the rhythm of the red flashing strobe lights.
.
.
.
Yeah, that doesn't make a whole lotta sense. And she'd probably agree with you, if her thought process wasn't interrupted by the three members of fireteam ra standing in front of them. She takes a moment to scan over them, then to the lights that dictate a state of emergency, then back to the spartans. "I think their tardiness may be explained by their lack of suitable equipment for the situation," She theory crafts. "Perhaps they got lost trying to find the armory?" She looks around once more as if trying to spot another person. "And I believe the captain is missing as well right now."

Dean Joseph Victoria Harbit

The announcement across the ship ends, leaving the chief of security concerned about the state of their ship in the break room. His hand plants itself on the table as he looks around to the thirteen or so security officers that share the room with him.
"Righto! You heard the prune! Get down to the armoury stat. Remember boys, this may just be a drill so keep calm and refrain from shooting unless they talk gibberish or look like an angrier version of the terminator." He begins to make his way out before turning and pointing to one of the officers who's currently standing near a coffee pot. "And for fuck sake, no one shoot Larry again!"

It takes him a moment to make his way from break room to the elevator that reaches the bridge. He hears many of the ship's crew running about in a panicked state. He catches two ODSTs on their way down to the hangar and asks them for elaboration on the subject. Obviously they know as much as he does and offer no help at all.

The doors to the bridge open once more, Dean walking through with his hand placed firmly on his magnum. His eyes narrow on the Spartans for only a moment before focusing. Loud 'clacks' followed behind each step he made although the sound would be easily drowned out by the current chaos and commotion of the ship.

"Captain Dean Harbit, present and accounted for. Awaiting orders Admiral." Dean's voice remains clear of confusion and sharp. While others on the ship may be hectic, it's his responsibility to remain calm in potentially dangerous scenarios. He would await to be addressed by the admiral and if spoken to by a spartan or other member of the bridge, respond with a deep growl of disapproval.

Pantera Faye

"Front and center, soldiers." Pantera issued as all the personnell she requested now entered the deck. If they were obedient troopers, they would've lined up in front of her at her beckoning.

"Spartans, you're late." The Admiral protested, despite the fact that everyone had arrived at a more than decent timing. "With all due respect, admiral.. You on--" The Admiral unsheathed her magnum side arm, pointing it directly at the spartan's forehead. "Don't sass me." She issued as she whacked Marholm over the head with the butt of her magnum. It couldn't have hurt, considering his superhuman body and virtually indestructible helmet.

Sheathing her magnum, she exhaled, crossing her arms. "Captain Dean, right on time, old friend."

"As you all know by now, we are in the middle of no-where, and we're headed for a potentially dangerous planet. Scans can't pick up on anything useful. We only know it's not covenant, or forerunner. As you all /also/ know, this ship is on red alert. Why are /none/ of you armed? I expect better from Fireteam Ra, and the chief of security himself."

She panned at Dean, looking right into his eyes, as if waiting for something. "What, you think your magnum's going to save your life? Go, go go go! Go get yourselves armed!" She screamed, giving the soldiers in front of her almost no time to react between her words. "Go before I tape you all to the MAC barrel! --- Savaymin, you stay."

Savaymin Rholise

Their ship that just so happens to have incredibly valuable cargo -including but not limited to a highly intelligent AI- just so happened to be teleported to an unmapped location in space, which just so happens to be inhabited by lifeforms with enhanced technology. All these "coincidences" easily add up to what we can consider a worst case scenario. The question is how do we respond to these events?

Of course, the first step is to declare a state of emergency in order to prepare everyone for probable and inevitable attack. Next, consider what your potential enemies are after, and how close they are to achieving their goal. What they want is more than obvious, and considering we are in their home territory, it is as good as theirs. This is not good in the slightest.

... a plan. They need a plan that will minimize the amount of casualties and protect the cargo or dispose of it if necessary until they find a way to contact a rescue party or another way home.

In the seconds it took for her to come up with this, Pantera orders the fireteam to rearm themselves with something that makes them look less like amateurs. Catching them before they head off, Savaymin suggests, "One of you should have a rocket launcher at the very least. We are facing an unknown enemy, and if we are lucky, their shielding technologies could still be primitive compared to ours."

"Also," she turns around to stare at the console where the ship's AI resides. "Magellan, can you give me a report on the estimated time of arrival? Make sure to also scan the proximity for any nearby ships. We don't want our new "friends" to give us any unexpected surprises."

UNSC Spartans
The three spartans briskly salute and stride off the bridge. The one in grey, Spartan Jace, the heavy weapons specialist of the team, grumbles a bit as the door closes. "Says we're late even though we arrived within a minute of the alert, oh and by the way we need to be armed to fight the unknown enemy that apparently isn't close enough for us to shoot at with the ship weapons, much less a rocket launcher...she knows that the armory is on the way to anywhere we can use them, right? Has either of them ever heard of regulation?"
Marholm snaps back. "Shut it. Didn't you read either of their records? We can deal with...eccentricities."

UNSC AI Magellan
Magellan's form...that of a green holographic man in an old-fashioned uniform...materialized over the console. "If we continue travel without using the slipspace drive, approximately twenty years, Spartan Rholise. However due to the...unexpected transition, the drives will need to cycle the power cores and recharge before use again. This will take about eighteen hours, at which time it should be about a six minute jump to the detected planet. As for the nearby scan, I am detecting nothing within scan range. The only reason I detected the mentioned civilization is because it is reading like the entire planet...and surrounding area, in fact...is reading as some form of construct. My analysis is either an artificial planet, such as a forerunner shield world, or one that has been industrialized to an extreme degree."

Cindra Dubrovnik

As the lieutenant stammers the beginnings of an explanation, the admiral walks in and starts yelling for reports. Cinder holds up a hand to silence the lieutenant, wishing for the first time that ghosts didn't have a terrifying effect on most people, and slumps in the nearest bench. Putting her head in her hands, she inhales deeply, waits five seconds, and exhales. She repeats this breathing exercise multiple times until her heart rate evens out, then leans back and watches the room.
The Admiral didn't even know this was going to happen. They could be fucking anywhere, and the planet before them could be entirely uninhabitable. They don't know enough about the area for a jump to another system, or even another planet. They could die here-
Cinder cuts her negative thoughts off before they can progress further. This is exactly why she hates warp jumps. Something could always go wrong, and she would have no control over it. Well, the worst had happened, and she was asleep for it. Now all that matters is how she reacts, and what she can do to help the situation.
Cindra takes a deep breath and looks at the ceiling, her mind racing through countless scenarios and what she could do next. Finally, after a minute of deliberation, she stands and takes measured steps towards Admiral Magnus, reminding herself that he was not responsible for this, but he may be able to fix it.
"Sir," she begins carefully, "I would like to request that a surface scan be made, and if civilization is found, that I be the first down to scout it out. I believe a ghost would be the best option for surface reconnaissance, for obvious reasons."

Jedi Master Greggory Wick

"It will be done Master Trebor." Greggory said as he began to walk away from his old mentor. Now walking towards the hangers of the Jedi Temple Greggory thought to himself. The Council Member Coleman Trebor had just informed the relatively young Master Wick that he, along with his padawan and another Master would be investigating the most recent in a series of curious occurrences, strange sensor readings and similar, with the one to be investigated being a mere few parsecs from Coruscant itself.

Considering the recent murkiness within the force, perhaps some clues could be found, if anything was even there Greggory thought as he grew closer to one of the larger hangers in the temple. The Jedi Council would have sent world for the other master coming along, but since Wick wasn't so certain his apprentice would be Greggory pulled from his belt a personal communicator, using it to make a quick message to padawan Tipolan, "We've a mission, best get to it. Meet me in the Hanger, the one my ship is kept in." Greggory said, not even bothering to see if his apprentice was able to respond.

Stepping into the hanger the Jedi Master looked over the various ships assembled. The council would supply the use of a Consular cruiser, though since it was without weapons Greggory decided he would be piloting his own Delta-7 Starfighter in case whatever was at the destination, if anything, was dangerous. Stepping towards the sleek white Starfighter Greggory called his own a red astromech chirped in an almost solemn fashion, "Yes yes R3, we'll be going soon. And we won't be dying this time either." The jedi assured his droid. R3-G5 made a low whirling sound from within itself as Greggory checked over the ship's exterior, assuring that the ship was primed and ready for the mission at hand while remaining certain that the republic pilots upon the cruiser would be doing the same. Any moment the other two jedi would arrive, at least twas Greggory's hope, he wanted to discus the mission will somebody and R3 was poor conversation.

Wrenu Tipolan

"...so you see, that's how the pirates didn't notice us!" Wrenu grinned at his two friends as they both laughed along with him at one of the stories of his times with his Master. "Mm, so are you-" "We've a mission, best get to it. Meet me in the Hanger, the one my ship is kept in." Greggory's voice startled the three as it blared from Wrenu's belt which his communicated sat. "Guess that answers my question..." the girl replied before she and her sister both stood up and bowed. "May the Force be with you Padawan Tipolan." one of the sisters said before they slowly watched him go.

He rushed down to the hanger through two silent as ever temple guards on their patrol, him not looking back at their vaguely creepy masks as they turned to look at him. He entered into the hanger and slowed down quickly, now moving to where he could see him master was. He smoothed down his robe and said as he arrived "Greetings Master, where are we off to now?"

Olu Bumdoa

"R7, no. No! No. No. I said no!" Olu scolded his personal droid whilst they made way for the hangar. The Jedi Master most likely looked rather awkward arguing with a droid in plain public. Within due time, the duo set foot onto the hangar. Crouching behind R7, Olu patted him over the helm. "Go plot a course for the anomaly." Olu asked of his droid, pointing a finger to his respective starfighter.

Sending his droid off, Olu turned suit to face his fellow Jedi Master Greggory, whom happened to be standing right there in the hangar. Silently treading up to Greggory, he poked him on one shoulder and immediately darted to the opposite side of where he poked him. "Boo!" Olu exclaimed, in attempts of startling his old acquaintance. Without even witnessing Greggory's reaction, Olu burst into sudden laughter and dramatically slapped his knee, holding onto his stomach. "Paaahahahah! Master Wick! How much time has it been?~"

Admiral Owen Magnus

The admiral glances toward the Ghost...Cinder...and replies, "I have already called for a full scanner sweep of the system, Agent. This will include a more detailed scan of both the planet and it's ring. And I will remember that you volunteered to be among the first landing parties, but only if I think you are needed, Ghosts should never be deployed without a plan in mind." Owen turns and walks to a near by comm panel:
"Attention Crew, this is Admiral Magnus speaking. A few moments ago this ship flew into a wormhole. Though it was no one's fault, we now find ourselves in an uncharted part of space, so far as we currently know we are alone, and without damage. I do not know how long we will be away from known space, so let's be ready for a long stay. Now on to more immediate matters, all on duty personnel are to run through the emergence checklist for your designated areas. All off duty personnel should get some rest, the last thing I need is a overworked and tired crew. That is all."
The Admiral turns away from the comm and starts toward the Bridge door, before abruptly turning back as an afterthought. "Oh, Lieutenant." Owen calls to a bridge officer. "Have comms see if there is any comm traffic nearby, and science team send a report on the worm hole to my cabin."

Jedi Master Greggory Wick

Everything was looking good. R5, or rather R5's head was hooked into the ship, the cannons were functional, the engines looked alright. Greggory was far from the best pilot or mechanic, but everything looked good. Everything was ready, assuming the handful of crew upon the cruiser were ready as well. Mulling over his sleek white and red ship Greggory suddenly felt wary. As if somebody was watching him. Perhaps even sneaking up on him, before the Jedi Master could respond though he felt a finger on his shoulder, and suddenly, "Boo!"
Greggory flinched, but caught himself, and soon was laughing alongside the other Master, "Olu Bumdoa, It's been ages. Too long indeed..."

Not even a full moment later a young Mikkian walked over, asking of their destination. "Ah, Master Bumboa may I introduce you to my padawan, Wrenu Tipolan." Greggory said, introducing his apprentice. "As for our mission, the Order has been picking up on strange anomalies, curious sensor readings and the like. One has just occurred a few parsecs from our current destination, and we're to be the lucky ones to find out what it is. While I and Master Bumboa take starfighters you Wrenu will be enjoying the luxury of that there cruiser." Master Wick said while waving his hand in the direction of the diplomatic vessel. "Any questions?"
