Anybody else got a CS in progress? When I listed the potential roster it didn't look half bad with the wide range of characters involved. Man Wolf, Toxin or Spidey, Deadpool, AND Beta Ray Bill?!? LOL C'mon guys and let's get this show on the road [IN SPACE!]...
Powers/Skills: -Bill has been augmented both genetically and with cybernetic components increasing his natural attributes to peak Korbinite levels levels. -Without outside aid, Bill is able to thrive in hot climates with ease. -Being the appointed champion of an entire species, Bill is trained in various Korbonite fighting styles. -
Similar to Thor’s own mythic hammer, Mjolnir, Stormbreaker is a weapon capable of great destruction and a tool capable of incredible feats. Stormbreaker is what allows Bill to go from peak-Korbinite condition to superkorbinite condition. In order to undergo his transformation between Beta Ray Bill and Beta Ray Thor, Bill must be attempting to transform (no unwilling transformations) and bash the hammer into any type of surface. After his transformation Bill gain a plethora of abilities such augmenting his already heightened attributes, allowing him to fire lighting from his hammer, summoning Stormbreaker back to himself (so long as it hasn’t been picked up again by another sentient being) roughly control the weather of whatever planet he is on and he is capable of flying unaided through the void of space.
Weaknesses: -If there is no surface for Beta Ray Bill to hit Stormbreaker against or if said surface is to soft, Bill will be forced to rely on other means of fighting which is much less than his Thor form. -Stormbreaker has roughly the same worthiness enchantment as Mjolnir and as such if Bill were to become unworthy in the eyes of the hammer’s enchantment (which is flawed as it’s worthiness as deemed by Odin at the time of it’s creation) he would lose the ability to even pick up the hammer until he proved himself worthy again. -Continuing on from the previous point, if an sentient automaton were to come along, they to could use the hammer’s power as the enchantment enacts itself upon living creatures as opposed to those artistically created.
Personality: Bill can come off as a very rigid individual to those who don’t know him as he mostly tries to keep up a professional image when around strangers but once he gets to know someone he shows that aside from the hammer and armour, Bill also has an Asgardian’s sense of having a good time. When it comes to a fight of any caliber though, Bill will never underestimate his opponent no matter how minuscule and will take no care in keeping up an sort of facade when faced with an enemy.
Appearance:
BRIEF Bio: Bill was just your average Korbinite soldier. He served as a peacekeeper wherever he was stationed and did his best to keep his planet relatively peaceful. Even as Korbinite scientists discovered the imposing threat of Surtur and his fire demons, Bill kept doing his job which now meant protecting the public from itself as they began to riot. As he kept doing his job diligently, the egg heads of his home world began work on what they called the ‘Beta Ray’ Project, a multistage program that would ensure the survival of the Korbinite people even if their planet could not be saved. Bill was one of many volunteers for the program which required them to go through rigours test to find the prime candidate to undergo the Beta Ray procedure.
Eventually Bill was chosen for the position of defender of the Korbinite species and he underwent genetic and cybernetic modifications so that he could defend his people from whatever peril they should run into in their trek into the unknown. Soon every single resident of Korbin (the home planet of the Korbinites) was loaded onto an ark like spaceship and put into suspended animation with the ship itself set to follow Bill’s ship as he lead them off into the universe to find a new home.
Eventually Bill made his way to the Milky way galaxy which garnered the attention of SHIELD who in turn asked Thor to go investigate the strange alien vessel. As Thor landed on the Ark ship he was met with hostilities from Bill who assumed the God of Thunder was trying to harm his people. A fight ensued and Bill managed to separate Thor from his hammer and then proceeded to lift the mighty hammer, a feat impossible by many. Thor and Bill were then transported to Asgard by Odin who made Bill and Thor fight to see who would be the owner of the hammer. Eventually Bill won the battle but he would not deal the finishing blow to Thor as he had now come to realize that Thor meant no harm to his people. For this Odin ended up commissioning a second hammer to be made for Bill called The Stormbreaker. Bill then parted ways with the gods and went back to his original mission of finding a new home for his people.
Eventually Bill found the Korbinites a new home planet and now he roams the universe protecting the innocent and executing the guilty.
Additional Notes:
Sample Post:
Bill sat at the helm of his ship, the Skuttlebutt, as he lead the Korbinite Ark ship which contained the entirety of his species into the unknown of the universe. It had been years since Bill had first taken up the mantle of champion of his people but to the Korbinite it felt like yesterday but this wasn’t a fond memory as even though it was the proudest moment of his life, it was also the end of his life as he knew it. Those flaming demons sent by the one they only knew as Surtur destroyed what was left of his home and his galaxy, forcing him and his people to seek out a new home and hopefully outrun the ones that made them leave their world.
A blinking red light snapped Bill out of his train of thought and brought him back to reality. With the push of a few buttons Bill was now watching an incoming being in some ridiculous armour, coming at his ship at an incredible pace.
“Slarg, another thing that wants to try and take us out. I would’ve never guessed ten years ago that there would be so many things in the universe that wanted to kill us.” The Korbinite said, taking note that he had to stop talking outlaid to himself as that wouldn’t fly once he found his people a new place to live. With yet another push of a button Bill fired a volley of energy blasts from the ship at the incoming being who, quite surprisingly, simply swatted them away and continued course. Seeing as the creature was getting close, Bill turned on the automated defences of the ship, put it on auto pilot and began gearing up with various weapons and a space suit in order to confront the incoming threat.
Woot! I've got an original for ya. (I'm trying to figure out this character before I try to make a comic, RP is good for that!)
Cannon or Original: Original
Name: Rose Kirschenbaum
Alias: N/A
Age: 25
Powers/Skills: Her only real power is a strange form of prophecy or telepathy that allows her, by looking at another person's face (or mask) to predict what that person will need and by when they will need it. She also has a sort of mental compass that directs her via straight lines (which usually go straight through impassable objects she must find ways around) where to be with the item, person, service, etc that is needed. As for skills, she is passable in computer hacking, martial arts, and marksmanship thanks to an intensive emergency crash-course with the X-Men just days before the mission. It's a good thing she tends to be a quick study.
Weaknesses: Her power, for one, has limits: it predicts what people will need, not want. And sometimes (often, really) what they need is something they do not want at all. In addition, it registers masks and faces as two separate people, so looking at a masked hero tells her what the person needs in their capacity as a hero. Looking at a face tells her what they need as a person. Because the future is always changing, what she sees people need can change as well, sometimes rendering her hard work useless. Her more mundane skills are only passable, and she is as physically fragile as an average civilian. Her first instinct under extreme psychological pressure is to crumble, and the crash-course did only so much to help her keep moving.
Personality: Rose is gentle and patient, dedicated to assisting other heroes however she can despite being something of a coward. She is eager to please and constantly reads the expressions of others to see if they are angry with her. Though at least somewhat confident in her mundane life as a librarian's assistant, she is shy around famous heroes and for the longest time did her good deeds in strict anonymity so she wouldn't attract their undeserved attention. As a good Jewish girl raised in a good Jewish neighborhood, she keeps kosher and her speech is sprinkled with Yiddish terms. Since she tries to keep her faith a strict secret to avoid hate crimes, she always has an excuse for why she can't eat anything non-kosher, and claims she uses Yiddish phrasing because she comes from New York.
Appearance: Utterly average in every way. She is somewhat short and the tiniest bit chubby, with plain brown hair and eyes and olive complexion. She has very little in the way of womanly curves, and her round face and large eyes make others think she is a young teenager. She hasn't got the resources of big-name heroes to make super-suits and awesome gadgets, so she usually just wears a long-sleeved t-shirt and jeans unless someone provides her with something better.
BRIEF Bio: Although Rose possesses the X-gene, it is unknown how much of her powers extend from the gene and how much comes from some other source. The extent of her powers and full capabilities as a mutant were never discovered; her parents eschewed sending her off with "that goy Charles Xavier" in favor of a local private Hebrew school. Because her power was neither dangerous nor obtrusive, Professor X let the matter go and moved on.
It was not until she became an adult that Rose had the freedom to use her powers, staying out until all hours of the night to secretly help heroes in their battle against evil. However, a lot of her 'missions' required spending money to obtain specific items to leave lying around for heroes to use, and to get into places normally reserved for the elite. To that end, she was forced to sell all the furniture in her tiny studio apartment and lived almost entirely on instant ramen and tap water. She quickly became malnourished and sickly, causing her to make mistakes that led several Avengers right to her apartment. This pathetic scenario was how she became inducted into the hero community (after a lengthy hospital stay).
Additional Notes: Again, I'm thinking of writing my own webcomic featuring this character. I just need the artists' tools that I can't afford right now.
Sample Post:
"...I'm sorry, I don't mean to be insulting. I'm just watching my weight, so I'll just have a little salad..."
Rose tried to put on an appropriately apologetic face, without any hint of wistfulness, but her shy blush and the way she averted her eyes didn't help her lie. It was just her luck that she would be invited to a dinner party with the heroes she admired, only to discover that nearly all the food was treif. But she didn't know how they might react to such a blatant statement of Jewishness. If she had learned anything about the world, she knew that once that little bombshell slipped, it wouldn't be long before she found swastikas spray-painted on her apartment windows.
"No, really, I'm okay... I'm not getting sick again, I promise..."
Or maybe I am. The terror was taking over again, upsetting her stomach. She had to find some way to divert the conversation, and fast. She quickly gestured (in what she hoped wasn't a rude way) to a spot of meat that had ended up on Thor's nose.
"Um, Mister Thor, sir, I don't mean to be rude, but... you've got a little, a little shmutz on your face... right there..."
The next few minutes were spent explaining to those who weren't of New York that 'shmutz' meant 'dirt' and Rose was able to breathe easy. But she had the nagging feeling the issue would come up again...
This does sound like a fun prospect that I wished I had seen sooner! Especially after seeing the mention of Cloud 9 in the orignal post as I've thinking of playing her for some time now! I have a few posts i need to make for various Rps which I'm aiming to get up over the next few days. If I have time I'll try and whip something up for this!
Powers/Skills: High-level telepath that includes a number of powers like Telekinesis, Telepathy, Telepathic Defense, Telepathic Cloak, Psionic Shield, Telepathic Illusions, Telepathic Camouflage, Telepathic Manipulation, Mind Control, Mental Paralysis, Mental Amnesia, Mental Sedating, Psionic Blast, Mental Detection, and Extended Longevity.
Weaknesses: As powerful as Cosmo is with his mind, his canine instinctual tendencies can still get the best of him.
Personality: He's a good-natured Labrador Retriever with a heart of gold. His telepathic voice speaks in English with a heavy Russian accent. Cosmo is eager to protect those in need of help - especially humans. He is fully aware of his identity as a talking dog and chooses to embrace it by making jokes about himself.
BRIEF Bio: Cosmo originally came from the Soviet Union of Earth as a test animal for the Russian space program. He was launched into orbit and somehow drifted off into space until he reached Knowhere, a severed Celestial head that served as an interdimensional crossroads for all spacefarers. The Labrador Retriever was eventually caught by the Collector. He was forced to become a living exhibit in his museum until an explosion caused by an infinity stone set him free. Cosmo eventually became Knowhere's chief of security, using his powers to police the endless stream of aliens that frequent his newfound home.
Sample Post:
“You have seen end of universe, and met space zombies, and talkink dog is what freaks you out? Bozshe moi.“ He flashed a smile, panting with his tongue out. The female Kree succumbed to his charm and knelt down beside him.
"Not freaked out, just surprised." She ran her fingers through Cosmo's yellow brown fur, then started scratching behind his ears. "You run security here?"
Cosmo was caught in momentary bliss. When she asked her question again, he stepped back and shook his body until his fur felt right where it should be. "Da, of course. Why ask? You havink a problem?"
Her dark grey eyes scanned the area then back at the spacedog. "Well, yes. I do have a problem. It's you." When Cosmo felt her put a laser pistol up to his skull, he rolled his eyes.
"Bozshe moi. Part of me wanted to believe you wouldn't be doink this. You've kindness inside. Too bad."
The Kree frowned. "You knew this was going to happen?"
The Labrador Retriever's kind eyes flashed into a lightning blue haze. "Pretty Kree girl, yes, but not smart Kree girl."
Before she could register what was happening, Cosmo had already been using telekinesis on her. She jolted into awkward positions until she lost grip of her weapon. Cosmo grabbed the pistol with his mind, then quickly took it apart, piece-by-piece. The Kree girl's eyes widened as the little parts that made up her gun were now hovering all around her. "What the...what the hell are you?"
Cosmo sent her flying across the room with an indifferent look on his face. "Bored."
