Perelliator Infodump
Science team report: Wormhole was an anomaly in every sense of the word. A short-lived portal similar in some ways to those used by the Zerg during the first great war. This one however, was of a far wider radius at its opening according to our brief sensor readings, likely capable of transporting an entire battle fleet at once. On the other hand, its exit was far more focused, being large enough only for our ship. We are uncertain what to make of this, as it is statistically unlikely that such a portal would be of correct size for our ship by chance, or that our ship would have gone through the center of the portal to exit perfectly through, having come upon it unexpectedly. We have very little sensor date from the actual transition, and what we have we are unable to translate.
What is perhaps a greater item of note is that this wormhole did not exist, as far as we are able to determine, until a short time before we entered it, by perhaps a few seconds. Now of course, our passive sensors are not designed for detecting the emissions we would want to look for in studying such an event.
As for the effects of such a wormhole...put simply, we don't know. Anything. The Zerg used their variation for transportation across vast distances, however to our knowledge, Dominion research has never been in such fields and our information is limited at best. Even had it not, this even is likely as far outside our capability to study as Protoss technology...or more so, due to it's nature.
Scanner Sweep report: We have detected several massive ships or facilities of an unfamiliar design in orbit around the nearby planet inside the orbit of the planet's ring. They are most definitely not Protoss...seemingly very close to Terran as far as we can detect, though that is limited as our passive sensors do not reach beyond the dense ring. Additionally, we are detecting artificial constructs of a very different design on the planet itself, plus what read as extremely large manufacturing facilities that reach deep underground. Finally, there are also a number of large structures on the surface of two distinct designs. Our guess at the moment is landed starships. This is further supported by the design of the larger of the two designs seeming like it is made to link with the vessels in orbit. (Though that is conjecture based on looking at the results, provided in the report.)
Addendum-Comm traffic analysis: There is a very high amount of comm traffic between the constructs in orbit and the surface, consistent with Terran drone control programs. Little else.
