So, some people now are like "why did Steven just talk it out with the gems WHILE bismuth was there? Why they bubble her?" Well, I think that Bismuth understands Steven. Like his mother, he's fighting for peace, but he can't lie to a soul. Rose has proven a few times over that she has willingly kept powerful information from the crystal gems, but Steven believes that such information is to be shared, and makes everyone stronger together. Bismuth and Steven know that the longer she's out, the more she'll keep clashing horns with Steven, and probs Connie too if they meet. Rose taught Bismuth how to be herself and do what she wants, how she wants. But, this conflicts with Steven. She wants to end the 'Upper-crust' regeime at any cost, and Steven wants to settle this all by taking as few lives as physically possible, no matter how hard it will be.
Bismuth made the choice to willingly go back into her gem without fighting Steven in her last moments of being physical. Maybe to mull things over, maybe to accept their differences.
But, this brings me to another point. Jasper. Some complain that Steven, while normally nice and pure, holds little back against Jasper. People are shouting and crying to let Jasper have a redemption arc, but they're not going to get it, at least right now.
Japser does not want to be redeemed.
She is living her purpose as a quartz soldier, and she couldn't be happier right now. She's making an army of her own using the corrupted gems on earth to end the life of Rose Quartz. If what Bismuth said is true, and Rose is from earth, then it's possible that Jasper acted as some sort of leader role, maybe something more akin to a warden. Rose is a little gem who got a little too big for her britches, and needs to e put down. Jasper does not feel regret, she doesn't feel bad. This is exactly what she wants, even if it's not the way she originally envisioned it.
not my words, but what i'm thinking too
