Hmm, the more that time passes the bigger the elephant seems to get... issues of indigenous rights seem to be getting more and more coverage recently. Anyone else feel that?

Haven't watched this yet, but it looks interesting - will have to when I have time:

I think a god-funeral will be a good thing to arrange. We need not restrict it just to Reathos. Vowzra will probably be dead by the time we get around to it, so we should include him too. Then there's Vulamera, who has become conspicuously absent, and we'll all figure it out eventually. We can also give a word to all those who faded into obscurity before they could do anything of interest (Mammon, Belruarc, Julkofyr, etc).

For reasons which are obvious, this should NOT be a collab. We should play it, for the most part, like normal play-by-post roleplaying, like we did for Turn 1. However, this raises a question: Who should be the one to announce the funeral and summon the gods together?

My vote goes to Kyre (@Kangutso). He's the sort of guy who would want to express that kind of sentiment.

Standard play-by-post takes far longer and can't be structured as easily. Obviously we can't have a chaotic free-for-all of a collab. We probably won't even be able to do set order. But that doesn't have to be a problem. If we can agree on a format, like a single-writer introduction followed by a discrete sequence of respects which each character pays, spending a paragraph or so on, and then steps back, then the order we move in doesn't matter.

The afterparty then breaks up into separate posts and chitchats and minor (major?) smitings and whatever. The gathering at the start could go the same way. The more thinly we split it between posts, the more broken-up it's going to feel. Which may not be a problem outside of the central idea, which is meant to be a single event.

Ed: Unless we do actually want it to descend into chaos from start to finish, which is fair, honestly.

I suppose that could work. By staying relatively structured, we avoid the collab spiralling out of control.

P.S. My concern was that it would be very easy for the collab to extend on forever as a to-and-fro occurs between a couple of characters during a key moment, or for us to be eternally waiting for someone to reply. But the model of, after an introduction by a single author, everyone submits a single (mostly) self-contained passage eg. a speech, then it should work out.

Vestec still needs to clean up Vakarion and Daegon.

Unless anyone else has plans for them?

Daegon didn't do anything beyond materialising in the pre-Universe void. It may be simpler to assume he never existed, than to contrive some sort of story as to where he is now. Of course, that's up to you and the other GMs.

Vakarlon's a god of fire, isn't he? I think I'll use him for central heating.

It's winter and all I can think about is the cold and how cranky it gets me.

(but yeah I can fix up a plan for him it sounds like a fun project)

Vakarlon is chance and trickery, with a destruction god trapped in his head. Was friends with Vulamera.

Added Demons to the third CS!

I kinda just want to use his essence to give to more Demons to make Lords. Vakarion's too.

Right now, the only DEAD dead god is Reathos. Julkolfyr is implied to be imprisoned somewhere whilst Mammon and Vulamera are merged with stuff. If Vestec goes about trapping and merging Vakalron and Daegon's essences with the Realm of Madness, then they will be in the same predicament as the other two.

So the only one (two) who will be mourned on the funeral will be Reathos (and Vowzra, if he dies before the funeral, something I won't like that much tbh...)

So the only way for the other gods to be suspicious about Vula and Co. situation will be when they don't answer back to the call for a gathering and when they don't eventually show up.

And so, when the gods become suspicious, Vestec better have a goddamn good explanation, because very few beings would be able to actually kill a god and get away with, namely other gods. And who's a better prime suspect than the God of Chaos and Violence?

No need to mourn him, I understand that he hasn't been very likeable (apparently) so it would be rather odd if everyone suddenly turned around and started mourning his death ^^'

In fact, here's how I see reactions happening xPPP :

Ull'Yang: They just fought each other, Ull being sad over Vowzra's death seems rather odd
Jvan: Well, that's a bit obvious, he's been hating on her since before the universe was created
Toun: Appears to have developed a dislike for Vowzie after Vula's 'death'
Teknall: They just had a confrontation where Vowzra came off like a right prat xP plus he and Jvan are buddies and all that
Kyre: Hardly knows Vowzra and that confrontation didn't give off any good impressions either
Astarte: Just doesn't see eye to eye with him. Might be like, 'oh, he died? Shame. Where's Big gone? Come 'ere biggie...biggie...*remembers what Sin did to her and weeping ensues. All think she's crying for Vowzra and comfort her. Vestec pledges to kill Vowzra for making her sad*'
Slough: Her new wooden form might creak ever so slightly
Illunabar: Vowzra's that weirdo she awkwardly made a baby with that one time. And the baby made her feel super weird too. You know, it might be a kinda good thing that guy's gone...he's like that ex you kinda wish never happened
Niciel: Aww, Vowzra's dead?! How did that happ- oh, he was on Vestec's side in the war? Well, one less bastard to deal with *takes a puff from her nicegar*
Zeph: Has anyone considered that Zeph may also be dead? *glass shatters* or at least, plausibly assumable to be dead
Vestec: Damn! Vowzra's dead? Where's his essence? Can I play wiv it?
Logos: *strokes TOBIA* there there my little antywanty. Soon we shall DESTROY THIS HIDEOUS WORLD AND BUILD ELDORADO ON ITS RUINS get you some more honey

To be honest I'd rather it not be a huge collab. In my experience, collabs with more than three people spiral out of control and into the land of Annoyingtowriteia 95% of the time. I'm fine with Termite's idea, with every God spending a paragraph to describe their mourning and then each going into different collabs or posts after that to deal with the interactions.

SHUSH YOU I HAD DIBS ON VAKARLON.

@Rtron Formal request, though, can I have dibs on Vakarlon's ending? I think I can get some use from it and tie it into the unresolved (albeit not particularly important) conflict between Jvan and Vulamera.

@Kho You got to understand, Ull didn't really want to fight Vowzra. They never had hatred between them so why not mourn his death? The way Ull sees it, although Vowzra had different views on the Jvan matter than Ull, he respects that, evident of the fact that he stopped arguing after seeing that Vowzra could not be reasoned with.

So yeah, Ull would pretty much mourn every god that died.
