Character Name: Aurin Schmidt

Sex|gender: Male.

Race: Human

Appearance: Tanned skin, Blue eyes, Greying hair, balding, muscular and stout (5'2, 190 lbs, mostly muscle)

Distinguishing features: numerous scars across his body from whippings, gunshot and stabbing injuries, a Wolf's head tattooed on his right shoulder

Age: 34

Occupation: A split Master-Of-Arms and Quartermaster for the "Bastard's Bastion"

Crime: Aiding and abetting fugitives (True) 4 counts murder (true), Kidnapping (true), Arson (false, denies vehemently)

Starting Equipment: Zaka Arms Model 4 revolver, several handfuls of rounds, Guardsman's rapier, Home-made steel chest-plate.

Personal Items: Small journal, several passages of notable figures from "The Great Hall", Dangh'Vah made

Personality: Mostly quiet and respectful, Aurin isn't afraid of getting loud, angry and cursing up a storm however when something truly annoys him.

Character Quest: Above all else, Aurin treasures a life of wealth and peace. He knows in order to achieve that he will need to prove himself as someone not to be crossed. This will mean acquiring great riches and power...half of which isn't outside his reach.

Bio: Born into a family of "Explorataes", Humans and Dangh'Vah whom search the Under-roads for valuables and trinkets to be sold back to Golgath and other cultures. Much of his family however was lost during one such journey on the Under-roads to a cave-in and resulting Ornok attacks. Until he was 19, Aurin spent his life balancing books and handling the 'Family business' of sending adventurous explorers and homeless folk to their dooms scouring abandoned cities for scraps. It was on his 19th birthday that Aurin was press-ganged to serve aboard the "Bastard's Bastion" as he stumbled home, drunk and tired.

In his 11 years time aboard the Bastion, the airship actually had it's 'golden years'. He immediately began taking a direct hand in maintaining the ship's weapons and supplies, leading to a slightly more strict (at the grumblings of the crew) but efficient vessel. He'd grown tired of balancing books and found his abduction as a sign from Troia, taking to the new responsibilities as though a fish to water. During his year's service in this dual role came the infamous "San Valias Siege". Under his and Captain Matthew Stanton's command, this renegade group of thieves and pirates managed to steal almost 40 million mark's worth of Gold and Silver, a haul that depleted the already diminished Algrian Treasury at the time, following the recent war and secession of Jaku. The ensuing battle also ensured the Bastion's reputation as one of the most well-armed and well-fortified air-ships in the world.

At his trial, it is claimed that he was responsible for starting a fire that destroyed a dozen Algrian Noble's homes. A fact he openly disputes even now. He has since been tortured and interrogated repeatedly for years in attempts by numerous parties to re-take the wealth his crew scattered across the known world. While over half of it has been recovered, there is still (roughly) 18 million marks in Gold, Silver and other valuables unaccounted for....

Theme Song: youtube.com/watch?v=F_I3SY_E4fU

RP Example: I can provide examples if you'd all like, but I imagine I can be exempt from this one small thing..

Additional notes: I know the age is 4 years past the scale I gave players, but I don't intend for Aurin to do much beyond enjoy a pinch of snuff, keep you stocked in ammunition and food. At most, offer direction to other characters.

Character Name: Caesar Tyrius Veln

Sex|gender: Male

Race: Human

Appearance: Standing 5'7 tall, Caesar is quite handsome with a well trimmed beard, nicely kept brown hair matching his hazel eyes, his stature emanates the confidence of someone who knows what he wants and will do what it takes to have it. His outfits vary, from coats, vests or just plain shirts, but he is almost never seen without a scarf and a cane.

Distinguishing features: Always displays his Rose somewhere in his outfit, be it in the pocket of his suit, coat, tied in his scarf, hanging like a pendant, or any other way.

Age: 28

Occupation: Owner of the Silver rose

Crime: Human trafficking ( Guilty ) accessory to murder and torture ( Guilty )

Starting Equipment: Double-Barrel flintlock pistol

Personal Items: A Rose delicately crafted out of silver and golden details, with the symbol of the silver rose engraved in it's petals, varying from languages and styles in each of the petals. only four other people in the kingdom have roses like these, being made for the high management of the Silver rose.

Personality: Caesar is quite friendly for someone in his position, although maybe not for the best of reasons, A life dealing with the best and worst of Algria has taught him that the best contacts come from the weirdest places, so you should never turn someone down before first seeing if they come of use. but regardless of his demeanor, his lust for power always comes first, and he wouldn't hesitate to throw his friends under the bus if it helps him reach his goals.

Character Quest:
get revenge upon those who were involved in his arrest, primarily the four others that posssess roses like his, including Kolton, and find a way to once more have power and wealth.

Bio: Son of Ronald Veln, head of Veln industries and Sarah Ahlia Tyr, a wealthy merchant, Caesar spent his early days in Algria being raised in a life of wealth, since young he was set to become the next head in line for the his fathers family company, famous for it's precisely crafted weaponry, used mostly by nobles due to their aesthetic value. However, it seemed luck had something else up it's sleeve.

Supposed to inherit the company at age 30, Caesar found himself venturing into another business at age 23, specifically, he brought upon the attention of a wealthy investor called Kolton mcroy, who, seeing the advantages of having ties to both the Tyr family and the Veln family, decided to invest in Caesar. together they brought upon the creation of The Silver rose envisioned by Caeser, a fantastic place which offered the most luxurious parties, with it's magnificent visuals, highest quality cuisine and the best men and women one could expect.

It didn't take much for it to become a booming business, as it became a sensation among the wealthiest, and most noble people in Algria, many would travel from their comfortable mansions just for a night in the Silver rose, but Caesar wanted more, still shadowed by his parents fortune, and with ambition coursing through his veins, he used contacts with some of Algrias most dangerous families, and set up something extra for the Silver rose. and so, underneath this palace of sin and luxury they had built, a trade route of slaves and bodies was set up. facilitated by the lack of public access to the area, as it was exclusive to only the most powerful, and some bribes here and there helped to.

At age 27 Caesar and the rose were at their highest, his fortune kept growing ever closer to his parents, and soon he would inherit Veln industries as well, making him one of the richest people in the land. But, as always is, what fortune gives, fortune takes away. and as he neared his 28th birthday, he got into an argument with Kolton and his other three business partners, they wanted bigger shares off the slave trading, as most of that money was given to Caesar, and Caesar, blinded by his lust for fortune, laughed at them, as they left frustrated, with one warning being ushered by them as they left. "you'll regret this"

and in fact, he did. the night before his birthday, as preparations were being made for one of the biggest parties he had ever thrown. Officials barged into his mansion, taking him arrested, his schemes revealed, he watched as despite all his efforts and wealth they sentenced him to the gallows, power stripped from him, his life was over. or so he thought. it seemed lady luck had smiled upon him once more, as a prisoner outbreak occurred while he was awaiting his fate, grasping the opportunity, Caesar joined many others in the Bastards Bastion, with a newly refreshed wish for revenge, and power.

Theme Song: youtube.com/watch?v=nozJHtuautU&featur..

RP Example: It was Beautiful, the finest craftsmanship his fortune could afford back then, perfectly made to resemble a blooming rose, it shone under the sunlight with it's golden linings and the logo of the Silver rose engraved in it. it felt cold to his touch, but it seethed in memories and emotions. Caeser begun spinning the rose slowly in his grasp, as his mind drifted to not so long ago, the days in which he had it all, but all good things must come to an end, mustn't they?.

Something in him wished he had never gotten involved in what he had, but those waters are long gone now, fortune has given him a second chance. emerging from his thoughts, He was looking through a window in the airship he found himself in, with people he barely knew. he wondered if any of them knew of the Silver rose, no, none of them looked the type, at least from what he could tell. he hadn't really been paying much attention.

giving another glace out the window, he sighed, truly fate had given him another chance, and he wasn't going to let it slip. he'd have his revenge, and if he couldn't have the Silver rose, then no one could. gripping the cane at his side, and storing the rose carefully at his coats pocket, he took a deep breath and turned around. walking away from the window, trying to lock away the thought that bothered him the most, for fortune had given him a second chance, but what fortune gives, fortune takes away.

Character Name: Gottrik Faust

Sex|gender: Male

Race: Dangh'Vah

Appearance:

Gottrik in his prime as an up and coming engineer in the fortress-city of Golgath, though he's become a lot more daper since he left the city to make his own fortune.

Distinguishing features: His bright orange but neatly trimmed beard and mohawk, as well as his bushy eyebrows.

Age: 354

Occupation: Golgath Engineer, Gunsmith and Mercenary

Crimes: Sabotage (False), Accomplice to Murder (False), Theft (True), Falsification of Credentials (False), Desertion (True), Fraud (False), Destruction of Property (False), Murder of an Officer of the Courts x 12 (He contests 5 of those counts as false, and contests the validity of the other 7 as self-defence)

Starting Equipment: A Dagden Double-barrel shotgun with a handful of shells, a set of simple mechanic's tools, and an officer's flintlock pistol. He's wearing his prison civvies.

Personal Items: His Engineer badge which he wears around his neck as a necklace. Though he's no longer officially a member of Golgath's garrison and therefore the badge no longer holds much authority in the city, it is still something he holds dear as a mark of his skills and accomplishments.

Personality: A pragmatic and innovative mind, Gottrik considers himself to be a fairly versatile person, quite in contrast to a lot of Dangh'Vah who are steeped in tradition and cling to their old ways and beliefs for sustenance. He keeps his own interests first and foremost, and has no qualms with taking more severe measures to get jobs done, but he treats friends, comrades, and associates with respect so long as they show him the same. It was this mind that benefited him tremendously in becoming one of the many esteemed engineers along the walls of Golgath, but it is also what made he realize how the situation in the old city was not likely to change and that he had to leave while he still could.

Character Quest: Gottrik seeks to make a life of his own far and away from Golgath and traditional Dangh'Vah society, whatever it may be. His whole reason for leaving the city and deserting his duties as one of the garrison's many engineers was because he saw no future there, and he'll be damned if he's thrown into the martyrdom units of the Oathsworn or spend his life and that of any of his descendants married to the walls of the formidable but constantly assailed city. He believes the Dangh'Vah have to move on, and for starters find a place where they're not constantly harassed or assaulted by enemies who want to kill them every couple years. To this end, he's travelled around trying to find a place he likes, and trying to obtain a substantial amount of capital.

Bio: Born into a traditional Dangh'Vah family of lesser noble heritage in the city of Golgath, Gottrik was raised to hold a position of distinction within Golgath society that would bring honour to his ancestors and his descendants. To this end, he was enrolled in the renowned military sciences academy in Golgath, earning his certification as an Engineer after 30 years of education and training at the age of 50. He was immediately assigned to the Golgath city garrison and assigned a section of its walls to oversee and maintain.

For the next 120 years Gottrik refined his education with experience, overseeing wall repairs, maintenance and repair of the massive cannons and guns along the walls, and ensuring his crew's equipment was in peak condition. He gained defence and siegecraft experience as he held his section of the walls against warbands of Ornoks over the years. He also gained some experience in command, for although Engineers were not strictly officers or commanded the same authority as higher noble-blooded Lords or Princes, most of those higher commanders were often off leading charges beyond the walls, overseeing the immense administration of the Golgath military, or were often having to jump between various wall sections, often leaving the Engineers to coordinate troops since they were of noble blood and had immense knowledge themselves of how to properly coordinate personnel and material.

Eventually though, Gottrik became more and more irritated with the Golgath military administration. He more and more viewed the constant meat-grinder that were the walls of Golgath as a tedious and ultimately meaningless endeavour since they were never any closer to actually solving the problem: the sources of the Ornok warbands themselves. Even with the creation of the Oathsworn, Gottrik was not impressed. He saw it mostly as a means for the higher noble families to not have to spill their own blood and risk their own precious lineage when they could have an army of criminals eager to redeem themselves and their lineages sacrifice themselves in what was essentially Martyrdom. Though he admired the pragmatism in letting criminals fight in this way, he didn't approve of how comparatively little risk the majority of nobles in Golgath were willing to take upon themselves to help move towards the ultimate goal of trying to reclaim their empire of lost tunnels and holds from the monsters that not infested them. He thought that the formidable walls of Golgath having grown ever more greater and impressive over the centuries had made the administration extremely complacent to the point of stagnation. Though he was prudent enough not to voice these thoughts openly, as insulting the courage the noble could have dire consequences for one in Golgath, but nonetheless those thoughts grew in his mind.

Until eventually, at 188 years old, after realizing in his own mind that the Golgath military administration was as likely to move in their mindset as the mountains Golgath was built upon, Gottrik decided to leave Golgath to seek his own fortune. A highly risky and dangerous move for himself to make, as not only were personnel in the Golgath city garrison required to serve until they died or were otherwise unfit for service, but effectively deserting his post would essentially make him a pariah among most respectable parts of the city society. But he saw no alternative, as he knew that his superiors would never accept his reasons for discharge, and that he knew that outside of Golgath, most other races were unlikely to give a shit what his people thought of him given the fact that he was of a profession in high demand all over the known world. So, informing nobody of his reasons, not even his own family or friends, Gottrik simply packed up his gear, tools, and his couple of choice Dangh'Vah firearms as he rode off out one of the many gates of the city on Mountain-Goat, cloaked and covered in coal dust to make himself look like a miner as he headed in the direction of Algria lands. He has never returned to the city since.

For the next 166 years, Gottrik has wandered the Kingdom of Algria, often hoping from town to town, taking whatever jobs he can find to earn some money, and even doing some pro bono work on ocassion from people grateful to have a Dangh'Vah engineer do work for them, though in those cases it was often to avoid the law. For Golgath does not take kindly to deserters, especially not Engineers, and after a short amount of time, the The Iron Gavel of Golgath, the title given to the head Judge of the city's military tribunal had issued a warrant for Gottrik's arrest on charges of Theft and Desertion, with a reward starting at 5,000 pieces of silver to whoever brought him back for justice. In Algria, many hunters tried to apprehend Gottrik, and were often the cause of him having to leave one town to another, with those official or impromptu officers of the law depending on their origin he couldn't elude winding up dead as he murdered some in order to escape.

His luck ran out in the town of Oldenford, an Algrian settlement several miles from the Algrian/Jaku border. Gottrik had been on his way to Jaku Territory to see if his luck would fair much better there, but had decided to stick around in Oldenford in order to do one or two jobs to get enough Marks to set himself up pretty nicely when he made it across the border. He didn't necessarily like Oldenford, it was a town of people who were distrustful of outsiders and foreigners due to the misfortunes of being a border down near Jaku lands, and conflicts between Algria and Jaku having led to the sacking of the town more than once. This also meant however that they weren't adverse to having a Dangh'Vah engineer do some work for them so that they might stand a better chance the next time, so they paid him to build them better guns and cannons out of tons of scavenged parts, and to give their paltry defences a once-over.

As he was working though, news reached some of his Bounty Hunters that the Iron Gavel had raised the bounty of the warrant on Gottrik's capture to a substantial five tons of pure silver. The reward had raised slightly over the decades, but the frustration at Gottrik's continued evasiveness which essentially made a mockery of Golgath's administration and courts finally drove them to drastically increase the incentive. To this end, many Bounty Hunters started gathering in force to track him down and bring him back to Golgath, and the Algrian Constabulary started to take an even greater interest in organizing their own bands.

Thankfully and unthankfully, Oldenford's relative remoteness and reputation for disliking outsider ensured that this news was unlikely to reach Gottrik, or the townsfolk quickly. Though that didn't mean that some bigots didn't already had a bone to pick with the Dangh'Vah. Believing that the Dangh'Vah would simply go across to The Free States, inform some Reavers there of the great prize he had made Oldenford into and then scalp them of even more of their wealth for his own greedy machinations, a gang of Townsfolk conspired a plot to ruin Gottrik. After being given some of their newly made weapons and cannons, the conspirators sabotaged the guns themselves to misfire in secret and blew up one of the new cannons, causing a fire and killing a couple people accidentally. Though that was not the original plan, it only served to rile the townsfolk further when the conspirators accused Gottrik of purposely sabotaging the equipment to do just these very things. With the local constabulary and a mob at their backs, they had Gottrik arrest and charged for a panapoly of charges and having him sent back towards Algria proper for trial long before they even found out that Golgath wanted him for other crimes.

This presented a problem for Algria, as they had Gottrik on trial for more crimes associated with their own territory than Golgath had for theirs, though Golgath desperately wanted Gottrik back for trial themselves. So Algria made a deal, they would still charge Gottrik for his crimes in Algria for which the penalty would be a hanging, but they would send his body back to Golgath for the Iron Gavel to decide what he wanted with it for half the price in silver. The Iron Gavel begrudingly agreed to these terms, believing that a dead Gottrik to showcase as an example would be as acceptable as a live one for a show trial and for half the price in silver.

Thus, that is how Gottrik found himself to be hanged for Algrian and Golgath crimes, most of them false charges, but some true. His gear confiscated and sent back to Golgath along with all of his money, he was condemned to die by the magistrates. Though the noose would not claim Gottrik then, as he found himself caught up in the mass prisoner escape, and beating up a couple of his captors alongside his fellow inmates and stealing a couple of human-made guns off of them, he would follow them to the Bastard's Bastion and a whole new world in the sky for him to escape to.

Character Name: Eleanor White

Sex|gender: Female

Race: Human

Appearance: (Actually, I really like this and she'll probably even be dressed similarly all the time)

Distinguishing features: An elaborate swan tattoo on her lower back, a birthmark on her right hand that colours a patch from the base of her smallest finger to just below her wrist a different colour.

Age: 23

Occupation: As she grew up, her father taught her about being a mechanic and she officially became his apprentice when she was 13. Two years later, she took up professional thievery.

Crime: Larceny, specifically Fraud, 38 counts reported, Robbery, charged for 24 counts, Pick-pocketing, Armed Robbery, 66 reported incidents (Guilty), Arson, one count (Guilty), Murder, 2 counts (Innocent, doesn't even deny it unless she's telling the whole story, wishes she had done it)

Starting Equipment: Dual six-shot revolvers complete with thigh holsters and a dagger with sheaths she modified to fit inside her knee high boots. A small leather satchel with a few handfuls of ammo and a waterskin.

Personal Items: A locket with a picture of her younger sister in it. Her black dress and red cloak, after prison, the only clothing she has. the dress is cut in the front to make room for easy access to her weapons, but the fabric still falls over to conceal them.

Personality: Eleanor is very confident in herself and her abilities, almost to the point of arrogance. She has a quick wit and fondness for gambling. She enjoys games of deception and loves the rush of adrenaline she gets running a scam or breaking into a house or manor. She's ruthless and will do whatever she has to do to advance herself to where she wants to be and keep her freedom, though she isn't against forming bonds and fighting for other people as well. She would die for her sister and father.

Character Quest: Most in life, Eleanor just wants an adventure. She wants to steal and drink and gamble and travel. As an additional quest, she has a group of people hunting her over a scam she pulled off not too long ago that enraged a noble family. Those are the murders she was charged with. She found the bodies of those hunting her dead with evidence of it, though she doesn't know who killed them or why. That is how she was arrested, over their bodies.

Bio: She was born in one of the Free States of Jaku, a small town in a desert-like climate. Her mother ran a pub and her father did mechanical repairs in the back of it. She was their first born, and about four years after having her, her parents has another daughter, Lily. Their mother died giving birth. Eleanor's father raised his daughters well and they had a very close relationship.

Once she was old enough, Eleanor started learning her father's trade. She was nothing in knowledge next to the fancy engineers in the big cities, but she knew her basic repair for what was needed in her home town. With more advanced technology, or newer, she is less skilled. She was always restless in her town and curious of those more advanced techs and bigger cities.

When she was 15 years old, and her sister 11, she set out on her own. At the time, she had meant to return, or if she set herself up in a big city, maybe bring her family to her. She was close with them and didn't mean to leave them permanently. She said her goodbyes and headed for one of the bigger cities in the Monarchy.

Once there, out of supplies, she ended up getting no luck with her trade because of more skilled workers, no one wanted to hire her on as an apprentice, so she lived on the street for a time. She ran into an older woman there who never once told her her name, but she told Eleanor she saw her confidence despite how she was covered in dirt and grime. She taught her how to steal, trick, and overall commit fraud. They ran a few scams in their four years together. The woman taught Eleanor how to use her looks to her advantage and rob people lured in blind.

When they ran a particularly high-profile scam in that city and came out rich, the woman managed to slip away with the coin while Eleanor was pegged for the blame. They started tracking her from her black swan tattoo on her back and she found her picture and tattoo sketched on wanted signs. She moved from big city to big city after that, robbing and committing fraud.

Prior to her arrest, she fumbled during one of her scams and set the noble family sending men after her. She fled but they continued to hunt her. She had killed people a few times, it wasn't that she was shying away from, but she wasn't sure in this situation she stood a chance. She had good aim with her revolver at close range but she wasn't very practiced at it. She was often better with a knife. So, she set out to lay a trap where she could take the four men on. She set it up in an old house, abandoned. She planned to have traps in place to lock them in and then burn the building on top of them.

With everything set up, they never showed. On her way out to find out why, she accidentally tripped her own trap and set the building ablaze, setting her with a charge for arson. She ended up caught in the fire for a time which burned up herself and her clothes, exposing her trademark tattoo and causing her to be identified at the scene. She ran off to tend to her wounds. A few days later, she went to where the men had been hiding and found them all dead. She had slipped into the inn room through a window and started to investigate when city guards burst in to investigate the bodies, who had previously been found by staff, though Eleanor didn't know that. They detained her as the murderer, though why they thought that she would return to her crime scene.
