Hello.

I would like to know if there was any interest in Dogs of War, a plot-heavy RP campaign set in an alternate present. The plot is entirely fictional, but is based on real world events such as nuclear proliferation, the current refugee crisis, war in the Middle East, and so forth; the main inspiration for the plot is Metal Gear Solid, with other sources as well. Players will impersonate operatives from a private military contractor, employed by the CIA to investigate the disappearance of one of their teams in a hostile environment.

Please feel free to ask any questions you might have about the plot or any other element of the campaign.

Excellent then. Even though I can't say I have military experience, I consider myself somewhat knowledgeable about some aspects of contemporary warfare, and I will try as best as I can to pouras much realism as I can into the RP, in regards to both actual military operations and geopolitical themes.

I am interested. I have real world military experience, but haven't played Metal Gear since its inception about 20 years ago. OK, closer to 30 years ago. Yea, I'm an old fart.

Don't worry about that: the MGS saga was only taken as an inspiration (mainly in the way it treats alternate history/politics and beacause this RP revolves around an infiltration mission as well), but the two plots are completely separate.

If you guys are ok with starting out with just two players, I will post the first OOC as soon as possible (which will most likely be tomorrow or two days from now).

Of course, anyone's still welcome to join in the meantime.

I'd be interested in seeing the OOC for this once it's up, I've played through every single main series MGS game and while I have zero actual military experience, I'm very interested in it. Also an avid shooter, so that's something.

I'm sure you'll be fine, I don't get too bent out of shape for inaccuracies, unless it's a Hollywood movie.
And yea, working with Gunther is more than fine.

I won't nitpick anything. If you want to ask a question, go ahead, CplDing was in the USMC and I was in the US Army; both Infantry.
