Is there some sort of scale that we could compare Magil levels to? Then compare that to the 'cost' of spells. Dunno (its part of the reason i've been hesitant to break out the demon arm. That and drammaaaaaa)

The specific stat I know of that demonstrates this is how much magic you need to constantly output (or is it just enough to kickstart it?) to replicate life: 5,000.

Rough limits on Chris's magic:

Using Shove doesn't take too much energy. It's about the same as if she had actually shoved someone. It's really more of a cantrip than a spell.

For Barrier and Ward, it depends on how they're cast. Both spells were created with use of an anchor in mind. If they're cast on something metal, they conform to that shape and draw a small amount of energy as long as they're cast. (In the case of Chris's tunic, she cast it on the silver threads in the weave. The spell tired her as much as walking around in full iron armor.)

The way Chris is casting now, she's technically using herself as the anchor, but not being made of metal the spell would just collapse if she let it settle. Instead, she's forcing it to remain in the first stage of the spell, which takes almost three times as much energy.

@VitaVitaAR - Well, my idea for Marianne is to nab a tray from a nearby table to toss it at the assassin's legs Warrior Princess Xena style and follow up with an attack

But, I actually strongly dislike Asuna. I hate myself for using that gif too, but it was the best example of Marianne attempting to stop the assassin with disabling blows without killing.

Well, it was more a giant sword for the later half of the manga. Before stuff went very strange (though it did include some awesome... aaaaaand then sort of became a "what" thing. Eva was good, though)

I need to catch up on UQ Holder, I think.

@harinezumikoukenAsuna is one of the blandest characters I have ever read. ^^; Then again I only ever read the first two SAO novels before deciding that it had good concepts and ideas but the execution was... Flawed, basically. ^^;

Also I refer to Kirito as "The Bland Swordsman" so that his title doesn't get mixed up with the true Black Swordsman. :D

@Raineh DazeOne of these days I will need to actually finish Negima I guess, but... I dunno, can't work up the effort seeing the circumstances in which it ended and all. :(

Guts is one of Tyaethe's inspirations. : D

@Rin The actual chapters around the ending were actually good. It was just that he cut out the dramatic final battle part because of that stuff. It was still fun, though.

I dislike both Asuna and Kirito from SAO. I dislike SAO period, pretty much. I enjoyed a majority of the first season of the anime, but then things went downhill very quickly and...well...

I devoted my spare time to watching other good anime.

@harinezumikoukenLike I said, good concepts and ideas, not so great on the execution front. The whole "trapped in an MMO" thing is better done by .hack// and Log Horizon anyways. XD

@chukklehedHer entire characterization is literally just "Kirito's perfect waifu", really. So of course the Bland Swordsman would attract the blandest girl.

...Anyways, um. Speaking of better anime, I rewatched Slayers not that long ago, which might have been what pushed me to really try and get something worked out for this. XD
