Birth Name: Alexander Gates

Alter Ego: Spectre

Gender: Male

Age: 29 (has not physically aged since his experimentation, though he does not think he is ageless.

Country of Origin: Australia

Archetype: Augmented

Allegiance: Splinter

Appearance:

Powers/Skills:

Spectral Form - Alexander is able to momentarily change his body into an intangible and at sometimes, transparent form. He is able to perform this as an artificial supernatural talent. This means he can be blocked or unable to use this power when magical wards are up. This is his only supernatural ability and does not last very long, so Alexander tends not to depend solely on it unless he either plans to show off a bit or if he's in a tight spot.

Enhanced Nervous System - Alexander's body has been made for him to have what he calls "super neurons". Due to this, he is able to perform feats of strength, speed, reflexes, and endurance above humanly possible. His senses are also a bit heightened, but only slightly. His body is still mostly human so he can be injured or disabled if you strengthen normal means for humans, though he seems to be immune to electrocution. His susceptibility to monetary rewards is also a glaring weakness.

Equipment/Resources: When geared up, Alexander becomes an arsenal of weaponry. He wields two wakizashi blades, two submachine guns, a Desert Eagle, and three special grenades that can alternate between smoke, fragmentation, and napalm with the use of small attachments he can. The suit he wears is made from a tough elastic weave. Covering the weave is lightweight armor plating. Alexander's helmet is equipped with a HUD and internal communications. His gear may change on a situational basis, but he likes to bring the least he can. He also currently has a cybernetic forearm. Its current function is to just act as any other arm.

Biography: Alexander was born in Sydney Australia with a great life ahead of him despite being raised by only his mother for a number of years. His mother was eventually remarried to an Australian soldier who gained his citizenship by joining the military. He was originally from China.

With a strict disciplinary in the household, Alexander learned discipline. His stepfather steered him to learn Wing Chun, but only for self defense. This fighting style became Alexander's first, but not his last. He usually depends on it to incapacitate foes, but will deviate when he sees fit.

On his 18th birthday, Alexander joined the military with his occupational specialty being Signals Intelligence. Alexander enjoyed the work, but found it to be stale. He applied for the Special Forces, and though it would be great, but Australian government had something else in mind. At the Australia felt that they were falling behind in the enhanced human arms race. Their metahuman population was lower than most countries, so their only options were to make Australia seem like a great place for metahuman to establish themselves by easing restrictions in certain areas to appeal to metahumans, and to look towards augmentation. Augmentation was not something most embraced. It was dangerous and undesirable. The accidental deaths of several soldiers during a special operations training exercise would be their crack at having new test subjects. Alexander does not know what exactly happened, but he remembered being transported in a military vehicle to a training exercise, and then he found himself being a lab experiment days later. The biological procedures had gone well, but when delving in supernatural forces was a train wreck with many failures. To maintain compliance, the soldiers were brainwashed. This form controlled worked exceptionally, until Alexander's neuronal enhancements "healed" his mind. The surgeries and brainwashing had still scarred his mind, even though he obtained free will. This left the man irrational and somewhat crazed initially. Alexander went on a spree, killing scientists, soldiers, and test subjects alike. When the insanity and rage died down, Alexander found himself outside of the testing facility wounded and beaten. From there, he made his escape to the nearest aboriginal settlement. It was there where an old doctor treated his wounds. Alexander found himself to not be so crazed as he had been before. In fact he was the opposite. He was much too calm and cold.

Being a stranger to his body made him feel like a stranger to the world. He went to his family first, but only discovered soldiers lying in wait. He was dubbed a terrorist to the public so he went into hiding. It was not long until he came across mercenary work. In time he found the jobs to be boring, but the fortune kept it interesting. Business was his pleasure. After years of honing his skills to make his job easier, Alexander bumped into the Champions during an operation. It was then he was made an offer. Join or be the enemy to the group with individuals that could put him out of business for good. For business, he chose the former.

While on the team, Alexander remained short spoken, yet when he did have something to share, it happened to be valuable to those that heard. On the day of the Nagoya incident, Alexander had odds with the plan. He believed the operation would have been a lot smoother if he had been in charge of collecting intelligence. When everything went to hell, remembered fighting for his life. He kept focus and tried to keep from murdering every thug he came across, but that slowed him down. When the building collapsed, Alexander lost his lefr forearm and cursed the predicament on poor planning. Alexander was never one to turn down an enhancement, so he agreed to receive a cybernetic prosthetic forearm. He's currently in surgery, but will join the splinter group once he is able to get up and out.

Special Notes: Almost always wears his gear. He also buys his equipment from an unknown source out of Bangkok.

@FunnyGuy It's a good sheet there's just a few small issues. One, this RP is still in a very early time frame since the discovery of Superhumans. So it's a bit difficult timeline wise to have your character be created as an answer to superhumans, that kind of thing isn't easy to do, so said government program would have had to be in development for a while. I also don't know what "Super-Neurons" are supposed to be, I'd like more explanation for that. If he's supposed to be a Captain America-esque transhuman than you could just say he's a product of genetic engineering and what not like the Prototype character. When we delve into Sci-Fi stuff, I'd prefer it to be grounded and at least semi-plausible.

Lastly if he's augmented, I don't think he should have a random supernatural power. I don't think magical abilities can really be reverse-engineered and artificially implanted in people, especially this early in the Superhuman era. I mean, Vampire genes and Werewolf blood is one thing, but I don't see how scientists could straight up give someone a random magic power. That's kinda what I mean when I say I'd like sci-fi stuff to be semi-grounded.

Otherwise, I think it's a fine sheet, that's just my two cents on it. Thoughts?

@Iktomi You did good kid, you did good.

Alright. I'll fix it up by tomorrow. Would he still be able to have the intangibility if I gave it a different explanation or should I scrap that?

@FunnyGuy Well perhaps he found some kind of magical artifact that lets him phase through objects, but there'd have to be a story behind that. You can go with that or scrap it, up to you, I look forward to seeing what you come up with. The Splinter team really does need some more muscle.

@MrDidact @FunnyGuy

@Dymion has recently introduced a character who's main power is intangibility, and wields two bladed weapons. Not a major issue, but I think it bares noting for diversity sake.

@BlackSam3091 Hmm, that's a good point.

@FunnyGuy In that case, it might be better for you to scrap the intangibility, for diversity's sake as Sam says.

@Dymion Go ahead and put your character in the CS tab at your earliest convenience, it makes it easier for us to keep track of PCs.
