LAVENDER TOWN

The town was somber and peaceful. It was a nice enough place to live, but some people found the atmosphere...haunting. It depended on who you were. The pessimists were the ones who would shiver upon entering this town, but the optimist would find it peaceful. The realist found it somber.

Lewis was sitting on a bench reading a bible. The activity relaxed him.

Karen walked through Lavender town, Jigglypuff floating gently above her head, just a little to one side. A lot of trainers traveled with their pokemon outside their pokeballs, giving them a bit more freedom, or some other reason. She did it for lots of reasons. At the moment, having some sort of companion by her side just made her feel a little bit safer. Tombstones with worn out engravings, a haunted tower, and scarcely occupied streets. The place felt like quite the ghost town, indeed.

Whilst walking, she stepped past a man, head deep inside a bible. A shiver went down her spine. Probably some kind of intuition? She stopped. Shaking off the idea, she recalled why she was in the town in the first place.

"Pardon me, sir" she said, "but would you know the best place in town to catch a ghost pokemon?" He didn't seem to be from around here, so it was quite a longshot, but worth trying anyways.

Lewis puts a mark in his book and looks up. He says "The best place in Kanto to find ghosts is in Lavendar..."
He looks towards the haunted tower. "I haven't ever actually /tried/ to catch any ghosts myself. I've heard rumors about that tower over there." He points to it. "Ghost pokemon are attracted to tombstones. They say that sometimes ghosts will emerge at night. The best conditions to attract ghosts are dark, foggy, starless, moonless nights."
He sighs and says "Ghosts are no joke, though. I wouldn't try to use a 'puff to try and catch them."

Squishy knew two things. He was hungry, and he was scared.
The solosis drifted his way along route 8 towards lavender town, he normally tried to avoid the place because of the ghost tower, but something told him he needed to be their now, so he went.

Stopping near the entrance of the town for a rest, the psychic type spotted a few trainers sitting around a bench chatting.
Being a "wild" pokemon, he was naturally carious of trainers, having never been in a battle with one, only against others like himself.

'Hello' he squeaked in a pulse to the trainers 'Do you have any food?'

"Well, I'm new here, so I just wanted to know," She said, crossing her arms. "I'll just come back when I'm ready, no big deal." He had a point. Jiggly was glancing left and right, it's huge wobbly eyes darting all over the place. It'd be a while before she could go ghost-busting or the like. Then again, it's not as though she was in any hurry.

She heard a squeaky 'Hello' resonate in her mind, like a sound that was right next to her and far away at the same time. A psychic type? Odd for certain. She turned around, to see some sort of green blob embryo pokemon. She'd never seen one before. Definitely not a native species. 'Do you have any food?', she heard. So it was a beggar, too. She had to investigate further.

"Well, I don't have any food on me right now, but I could easily get you some," she replied. "What's your name, if you don't mind me asking?"

Al let out a deep sigh as he sat out in front of the Pokemon Center in Lavender Town, tossing cards into a fedora-type hat that lay on a small chest in front of him, his head leaning on a free hand as he did his best not to pass out from boredom. Overhead though Missy, his rather happy-go-lucky Misdreavus, flouted around chasing a butterfly back and forth above.

"Its so dead today." Al said as he threw his hands up and flopped back against the side of the Center, then as he realized at how much 'bad taste' he had in his words, catching sight of the Tower not far away. "I dont know about you Missy but I think its about time to call it a day." he said with another long sigh, leaning forward to pick up the hat and place it on his head, not at all surprised to find that the cards he had been haphazardly throwing into it had suddenly disappeared. Standing up now the young man pulled his long purple hair back behind him and tied it in a low ponytail, letting it sway side to side as wisps of deep purple smog seemed to roll off in waves.

"Come on Lil Miss, maybe we will have better luck if we take a stroll around town." he said hopefully as Al hefted the small chest off the ground, finding the pair of straps that his used to carry the chest around like a backpack, and as the young man did the Ghost Pokemon that had been chasing the whimsical little butterfly let out a happy almost purring sound as she took her place perched on his shoulder, watching on as they went to venture around Lavender, heading towards the main entrance of town.

The Solosis shifted slightly in his plasma, giving the impression of a tilting head
"name... what would be a good name..."
he thought out loud, still unused to speaking
"I guess you can call me squishy!"
the shouted playfully, floating closer to the trainers. He had been in plenty of fights with other "wild" pokemon, but hadn't really encountered trainers up until he was brought here, so he remained somewhat naive.
"I dont mind at all!"
Squishy giggled, bouncing childishly inside of the floating globule that is his body
"But what's your's?"

The young, dark-haired detective's lunch break was nearly over, if you could call it a break at all. Seri had merely taken a moment to sit and attempt to devour the sandwich she had made herself as she rushed out the door that morning. What she was actually doing, or supposed to be doing, was making her way around Lavender Town (the long way to ensure the area was being properly canvased) to the Tower to ensure there were no Team Rocket workings going on. At the moment, however, she was splitting the last portion of her ham-and-cheese sandwich in half. She tossed one to the Vulpix, who had playfully been rolling around near her feet, and the other she ate herself.

Dusting her hands free of crumbs, she stood and stretched before straightening the blazer that was part of the well-tailored pants suit she wore. It was one of three that her mother had gifted her with when she was promoted to detective, each one had the Office's symbol emblazoned where the breast pocket would have been on the blazer. She looked down at her companion and smiled, "Alright, Mab, m'dear. I suppose it's time that we get back to it, don't you?"

The small creature let out one of her more 'adult' yips in response and Serenity grinned and bent to scratch her ears before restarting their journey towards the tower. Everything seemed normal enough. One trainer seemed to be strolling with a particularly happy looking Misdreavous. To him, she gave a nod and small wave in way of greeting. Not long after, however, a small group seemed to catch her eye. Not terribly suspicious, but still good to stop and have a word. Besides, sometimes she missed being a regular beat-cop and being able to greet people and welcome them. With Mab trotting dutifully at her ankle, she stopped at the man, Solosis, girl and Jigglypuff, "Good day to you all."
