Ranna was so concentrated on wearing down the beasts she didn't even notice the stares she was getting. She had fought doom labs before and they weren't really that tough for her as long as she didn't run out of energy before they gave up. When the doom labs started to give up they started to leave on their own and the injured ones left limping. That's when Ranna turned to check on everyone else. She felt a little awkward since she didn't know them. "Is everyone okay?"
Ranna hadn't been around people in a long time and those that she had been around were less than savory so she automatically started to back up to leave.
Kyle looked at his comrades and gave a sigh in relief that they were able to get out of the fight in one piece. While he admits he was a little peeved he didnt get to give his people a decent fight, he was glad that they didnt have to fight at all. But what worried him was how a single woman was able to drive away so many Doom labs so quickly. Kyle ran forward, his group hot on his tail, and stepped in front of the woman.
"
Hey ! Those guys were mine ! You ain't no fun . " she had a mad smile on her face and was covered in blood from before Ranna came and ruined her fun.
Kyle gave Alexis a strange look, slightly concerned. Then looked back at the stranger.
"Hey wait dont go! Thanks for .....whatever that was."Kyle held out his hand for the woman and smiled.
"My name is Kyle Hishamie, and I represent the Obsidian Tribe."Ranna looked up at him and all of the faces behind him and she blushed a little. "You are welcome. I am Ranna Dasonne." She glanced over her shoulder and for a moment she looked like she might bolt from them but she didn't. She just stood there quietly and shook Kyle's hand.
Kyle shook Ranna's hand gently and let go after a few seconds. Kyle put his hands in his pockets.
"So let me ask you Ranna, how the hell did you manage to take out so many Dooms so quickly? Where did you come from? Im sure any one of my guys could have done the same, but just in more time and greater risk of injury. Plus Ive never seen anyone with your type of powers before."I use forcefields to repel them and bounce them backwards and I construct energy balls to hurt them. Eventually, they usually run off. My tribe considered it a coveted power. I was the only one who had it." Ranna looked down and took a deep breath before speaking again. "My tribe was wiped out last year by another tribe. I've been on the run ever since."
"Im sorry to hear that. I am sure your tribespeople are in a better place, better than this paradise we live in,"Kyle said trying to deflect her sadness with humor. Kyle leaped into the air slightly and acting dramatically. Kyles group groaned. They had been around Kyle long enough to know when he was going to start acting like a fool.
"Well madam it seems to me that fate may have brought us together for a reason. I would like to extend a hand of hospitality and offer you the chance to come back with us. This world is in no way a world where someone should live alone, and in the Obsidian tribe we treat everyone like family."Kyle turned to Alexis and his eyes went soft.
"No matter who they are, or where they come from, we treat them like they are family. Everyone should have a chance at a life with the most peace this world will allow."Kyle turned back to Ranna and gave a slight bow.
"If you aren't sure at least travel back with us to meet the tribe. They would love to get to know you.""
Or they'll be suspicious of you. Either way , it's gonna be fun ! "
Kyle smiled at Alexis trying to not laugh and shush her.
Ranna wasn't sure what to think about Kyle jumping up and down. She did notice that when he started talking about family he turned to look at a pretty young woman behind him. Unsure how she was to fit into this 'family' she hesitated.
"
It's not easy on your own. I can tell you that. Been alone since I was 10 years old. You don't need to be alone " somehow , Ranna's story hit a personal cord in Alexandra. She knew how it was to be left alone in this idiotic world. She knew how bad it is to be alone here. Alexandra may not reconize it but she liked having people around her. People that won't try to do anything to her.
"You don't have to. I'm okay on my own." She said and she turned to go back into the woods the way she came out. She got all the way to the treeline and she stopped. Was she really going to spend her entire life alone in the woods? She had a chance to do something else, be a part of a group again. Ranna turned around and went back up to Kyle. "Okay, show me your tribe."
"Awesome! Won't regret this. Lets move forward everyone."Kyle gathered everyone into a circle quickly.
"Ok with our new friend here we may have more of an advantage, but Alexis cant use her powers anymore, and im at half battery. So here is what we are going to do. I will take the lead with Tokala, Elenor will follow behind me, Alexis your paired up with our new friend in the rear. Elenor keep your eyes open and if anyone gets injured heal them. Alexis your not to use your powers I wont risk you going coma on us. Lets move."Alexandra mutters something under her breath but does as she's told.
Kyle and the group began moving north.
Ranna kept her eyes open and she didn't say anything to the young woman next to her. She didn't really know what she should say to her. Where she was from there were more cities and sometimes there were tribes living in some pretty lavish caves as odd as that sounded. Most lived in compounds in the mountains like hers did.
Alexandra was still a little dazed by all that happened and her mind was not...at it's place yet. She was getting better but not enough to use her powers yet.
Ranna stopped to remove a few pebbles from her shoe and she was distracted and didn't see the wild boar until it was almost on top of her. She jumped backwards dropping her shoe and missing the edge of the road. She tumbled down the steep downgrade and grabbed her knife and when it got close to her she stabbed upwards into it's chest and when it was dead she got up and tied the boar with the rope she had and trudged up the hill with it. Once back on the road she grabbed her shoe and dragged the carcass behind her.

Ranna , you ok ? Sorry about that. My powers...are not working right now. Didn't have time to help. Kyle ! Wait up ! "
Kyle and the group stopped to let Ranna catch back up, and all of their eyes went wide when they saw the boar. Kyle walked over to Ranna and motioned for her to stop. Kyle knelt down and examined the boar. It was unlike anything they have ever seen. It looked like a boar, but also didnt. It didnt have fangs, and it didnt have bloody patches over its body,
"Elenor come look at this. Its a....well ive never seen anything like it. I want to say its a Hell Squealer but it doesnt look.....well sick. I mean most beast we come across are just bad to the bone with radiation sickness but this one...isnt."Elenor walked over to the Boar and examined it with her medical skills and powers. Elenor gave her own weird responce, but in the end the gist was recieved. It was a non radiated animal, and it was good to eat without worrying about radiation sickness. Kyle picked it up from Ranna and smiled.
"Wow look at you, all good luck and what not, If you dont want to stay with us you obviously can keep it, but you may have discovered one of the first non radiation mutated beast in a long time."Ranna smirked at the expression on Kyle's face as he looked at the boar. She kept getting mixed signals from him. She couldn't tell if he wanted her to stay with them or not. He finally took the boar so she wouldn't have to drag it. He must be stronger than he looks she thought as he carried the large animal fairly effortlessly. Ranna went back to keeping an eye on the surroundings and nothing else eventful happened on the return to the apartment building.
Once there Ranna looked at it and she looked down at herself. She was filthy, covered with pig's blood and dirt from her slide in the dirt. She started to look for a lake or stream. Somewhere she could clean up was all that she could think about. She started to get very nervous and worried. Ranna turned and started to walk back to the woods.
Kyle put his hand on Ranna's shoulder to stop her.
"Hey calm down, dont worry. Like i said we are all friends here. I am going to need you to stick around, at least until I gather the tribe for a meeting, but until then other things need to take place. For one, I am pretty sure I have like Three different types of beast guts in places where no guts should be. Ill show you to a guest apartment and you can shower off. We have a working hydrolic system so we can actually do something called "showering". Its awesome just wait. you turn these knobs and water comes out of a spout attached to a wall."Kyle spoke passionatley and excitedly. Kyle turned around and spoke individually with all the members of his group, all of who left after talking to Kyle. Kyle then called a guard over to him. The guard was dressed in a traditional guard outfit. A short sleeve collared black shirt with the word obsidian etched on the left breast, with tan pants, boots, and a weapon of their choice attached to their belt. The guard who came forward had a nice homemade looking sword.
"Take this Boar to the kitchen and have them keep it on ice," Kyle said dropping the boar in front of him.
""I want this to be kept hidden from everyone for now, until later probably in the morning. Have everyone up and in front of the main office bulding by 0900. Attendance is not mandatory. Thanks Joel."Kyle patted Joel on the shoulder and the guard seemed to brighten slightly. The guard called over a few more guards and left. The tribe was very quiet tonight, seeing as how it was late. Everyone was already inside their homes. Kyle nodded at Ranna to follow and he led her towards the left of the complex towards the guest Apartment buildings.
Ranna followed Kyle and they went into one of the apartment buildings and he opened one up and they went into the building. Ranna looked all around the place. There were rooms with what looked like sleeping mats but taller. She sat on one and it made a squeaky sound and she jumped up hurriedly and looked at it oddly. She went into the room he called a bathroom and turned on the water in the shower like he described it.
Opening the cabinet she pulled out a towel and smiled. Ranna was excited to see how this thing called a shower worked. She slipped her clothing off quickly and jumped into the shower. When Kyle turned to look back he would have seen her shape in the shower but nothing detailed.
Kyle nearly tried to stop Ranna, he wanted to explain a few things, but Ranna was so excited to shower he supposed that there was no harm in letting her wash up first. Kyle turned his back as Ranna started tearing off her clothes and jumped into the shower. Kyle couldnt help himself though, seeing the figure of Ranna out of the corner of his eye. Kyle looked back a little more and saw the faint outline of Ranna, her shadow showing off the her curves. Kyle quickly turned back around and shook his head. He was the leader of his tribe. He didnt have time to start picking a pervy fight with someone whose battery was more charged than his.
Kyle walked over to the kitchen and leaned against the counter, closing his eyes. Kyle calmed his breathing, and focused on the events of today. So much had happened, and he hadnt even had a chance to see what supplies they got.
Ranna was intensely enjoying the hot water as it warmed her skin. She vowed to do this every day for the rest of her life. After about 20 minutes or so she grabbed the towel she had put on the counter and turned the water off. She wrapped the towel around her and went to find Kyle. She found him in the kitchen.
"Kyle? Do you know where I can get some clean clothes til I can get mine cleaned?" The expression on Kyle's face was so striking she thought something was wrong. "Are you alright?"
Kyles face turned slightly red then Kyle calmed himself down. Kyle calmed himself and looked Ranna in eyes.
"Yea no im fine. New clothes should be over there in your temporary room," Kyle said pointing at the room next to the shower room, across from the kitchen.
"The clothes wont be anything special or really great looking, but they will suffice. You get better stuff if you decide to stay. If you dont you can keep the clothes in your room, and we will give your boar back, and some supplies. But honestly though I will need your answer before 0900 tomorrow."Kyle said all this rather quickly and broke eye contact with Ranna after speaking, turning his head left.
Ranna was getting a little frustrated with him. "Why do you keep asking me IF I will stay? I let you bring me here. I have not left or said that I was leaving. Do you not want me to stay?" Ranna felt a little hurt and confused.
She turned and walked into the bedroom and found the clothes that he was speaking about and started dressing.
Kyle sighed.
"You never said if you actually wanted to say. I want to hear you say it. If you say it then I have your word and If you break your word, you lose my trust. You lose my trust.....and I implore you not to lose my trust."Kyle leaned in slightly and caught a glimpse of Ranna. Kyle quickly leaned away and turned his back.
Ranna pulled her hair up and out of the back of the top that felt way too constricting. It was a difficult one to get into with all of the buttons and such. "I said I would go see your tribe. Unless you or they do something to make me want to leave I intend to stay."
Ranna came out and looked at Kyle and said. "These clothes are too constricting. May I change them to my own liking after the meeting?"
Kyle smiled and crossed his arms. Kyle used his right index finger, and pointed it toward Ranna.
"Sorry about that. I know the clothes arent great, I said so already. And thats great to know. Tomorrow after the meeting I will make sure you get set up in a decent room. Please try your best not to ruin those clothes though. The next person who stays here will use them after we wash them. "Kyle laughed.
"I mean if you dont want to wear those clothes though I mean no one will stop you. Try your best to watch what you say and wear, we have youngins here. You dont have to wear anything in your own time."Ranna looked at Kyle oddly. "Did you just say that I don't have to wear anything?" Ranna thought she knew what he meant and she grinned. "Kyle? Do I make you nervous?"
Kyle walked forward a bit and leaned against the other side of the counter.
"Well only slightly. I have to determine if you are a threat to my tribe. I am the leader after all. Its nothing personal."Kyle put his hands behind his head.
"Plus too be fair you put down like twenty Doom Labs. I dont know where you came from but to use your powers like that after a long journey and when your battery is depleted, thats damn impressive. You're a force to be reckoned with."That's the moment when Alexandra teleported near Kyle. She was much , much better now. She checked on Ruyn to be sure he is not brain damaged and now she went to talk with Kyle about the offer. She searched for Kyle through the building for a while and had to ask everyone she met where he is. Finally someone told her , he's with the new girl , showing her the place.
"
Hey there new girl. Don't mind the looks the people 'round here will give you. Anyone who's an outsider will get'em. I am here for a year and they still do it. I hope you don't mind that I'll take Kyle away.
Now...Kyle , sorry to interrupt you but...I wanted to talk and show you something. Can you , please , come ? " this was the first time Alexandra talked so freely with Kyle. She finally trusted him. She may not trust the others from the tribe but Kyle ? He was ok. Better than the last guy she tried to befriend. What will Kyle do when he'll hear that she's hunted. Well , she doesn't know but she has to talk with someone about it. Sooner or later , she knows he'll find her.
Kyle jumped slightly when Alexis appeared in the room. Kyle nearly blased the shit out of her, his will already gathering energy. Kyle had been so absorbed in his conversation with Ranna he hadnt expected anyone to show up. But Kyle masked his suprise and smiled warmly. He was the leader, and he had to be professional. ''
"Hey yea we can talk. Come over here and teleport us and we can talk."Kyle held out his hand for Alexis to take as he looked back at Ranna.
"We will talk another time then. If you need anything just find a man or women in uniform or come find me."Ranna watched them together and nodded. "I'm not worried. I'm certain I will find my way." She watched as they left together and she wondered...It was late enough that she was yawning and decided to try out the sleeping mat that squeaked and see how comfortable it was.
Alexandra teleported them both on a rooftop. A few buildings away from the apartment complex.
"
This is it. This is where I spend my nights Kyle. This is where I keep everything I gather. Sorry but I don't want to be left unprepared.
Now Kyle. I really need to ask you something but first , make yourself comfortable. " *she shows him a small sofa that she found and teleported here a few weeks ago*.
With that said she quickly searches her stash and brings out a 60+ years old whiskey bottle and teleports it ( only it ) near Kyle.
"
Check that out , Kyle. "
Kyle caught the bottle and examined
it.It was a alcohol bottle for sure, but it was oddly shaped. It was clear its orginial liquid had left the bottle years ago, and whatever was in here had aged greatly. Kyle looked over the bottle and shined a light on the bottle from his index finger.
"Wow...Nice. When did you get this? Never mind I dont wanna know. Part of being the leader is im suppose to be accountable for all the loot and I dont remember this being accounted for."Kyle laughed and sat the bottle down next to him.
"Good thing I can be an pretty lousy leader when it comes to stuff like this. You go ahead and have some, I need a clear head to prepare for the tribe meeting tomorrow. Decent couch though."Kyle stretched his arms and yawned.
"So whats up Alexis?""
It was not there because I hid it here. I've got a lot of stuff here. I'm trying to repair something called a "radio". It allowed people to talk between them at great distances but I can't seem to find some parts for it.
Now...*she takes a sip of the wiskey*...woah that burns. Here take a sip please , you will need it. *offers him the bottle*. This is something that I should've told you sometime ago. It's bad , that's for sure. When I was 16 , I met a man. He seemed old but...he gave me food and saved me from certain death when my powers failed me. This guy...Hunter , was well one of us. Had some powers but stranger. First of all , he had the power to kill other people and take their powers. I didn't found that out until it was too late. He tried to take my power. It was the only one he still needed by what he said but...I don't know he seemed nuts. I escaped but he's been following me ever since. He tracks me down , tries to kill me and I escaped everytime. I don't know how he didn't find me all this time. I mean a year passed and he hasn't found me yet.
This is the main reason I don't actually stay with people or powered people. It makes him stronger and endangers their life and eventually mine. *she takes another long sip from the bottle* So that's it. The reason why I hide , reason why I keep all my stuff in other places. I have at the moment another 10 stashes all over the city. " she was
shaking by the time she finished her speech,
Kyle held up his hand and shook his head, indicating he was fine, Kyle put a hand on Alexis shoudler and tried to ne as empathetic as possible.
"Alexis what have I told you a hundred times? You are part of our family, have been for awhile. Yea not everyone was super into you at first, mainly because of all the death threats you gave out, but they have warmed up to you, Anyone of us would be willing to die for you. And too be fair cmon we live in a world constantly trying to kill us. This isnt the first time someone with powers has tried to attack us and if he shows up we will be ready for him. And we wont let him take you I promise."Kyle sighed on the inside, He wish he had his librarians sense of tact right now. He had no diea how he would deal with someone of that mans caliber, but he knew he would have to kill him. Question was how many had to die before the fight ended? And would Kyle really end up the victor?
"
No...no...no. You cannot fight him. That....that thing is too...strong. He has 6 diferrent power sets last time I fought him. A year ago ! Now ? Who knows ?
He will kill anyone who will fight him just to get to me.
We need to prepare. I know his powers , the old ones. If you really want to fight him with me...I can teach you guys his powers. Maybe we can find a weakness in them. All our powers united against his powers.
And take me ? With my powers , he will kill everyone of you and take your powers.
"
After she finishes talking a really load sound , followed by a bright light can be heard / seen and it was moving their way.
"
FUUUCK ! This will hurt you Kyle , sorry ! * she tackels him hard and throws him off the rooftop , as they are falling down both of them scream and just when they are close to the ground Alexandra takes control and teleports them a few meters away.
The rooftop was gone. It was incinerated. Rubble was falling down on the Earth.
"
Kyle ! Kyle ! He is here ! He found me. No...no...no... We need...to...move. " she says , scared and with tears in her eyes. That much emotion was not characteristic for her.
"
We need...to...run. He won't , stop. "
Kyle wrapped himself around Alexis, raising his hands filled with light, his eyes glowing. Kyle looked around and saw they were no longer in the tribe. Kyle powered down and stood himself and Alexis up but still had his arms around her. Kyle checked Alexis all over, mae sure she was ok. When Kyle realized they'ere both fine, Kyle sighed.
"Thank you for saving us. Cmon we need to get back."Kyle walked with Alexis, his arm around her. Kyle reconized the area they were in so he was able to lead them back. As soon as Kyle and Alexis got back the tribes guards ran up to him and Alexis, asking questions and making Kyle reassure them he was fine. The guards explained that only one roof had been damaged and that they had kept everyone inside. Also there had been no more attacks. Kyle thanked the guards for their diligence and then dismissed himself and Alexis. He walked them over to the main building where his room was and walked them in. Kyle room was also his office, with a regular bed and shower room, dresser with his clothes, a locked chest with his personal items, and a desk with papers sattered about. Kyle sat Alexis down on his bed and sat with her. He was slightly shaken but he couldnt show it. He just sat there, trying to remain calm.
"
Thanks...Kyle. I am sorry about that. Tomorrow...tomorrow I'll gather my things , what's left of them and I'll leave the tribe. He won't come after you. He will follow me. I shouldn't have came here in the first place... " said Alexis. She was shaken about what happened and scared about what would Hunter do if he found out that she liked Kyle. Probably torture him to get her. Alexis couldn't abandon him and the tribe to Hunter. He will just kill'em all just for fun.
Kyle...do you mind if I...take a shower here ? And...maybe I can sleep here too ? It's the last time , I will do it , so... said Alexis with a sad smile on her face. She knew this wouldn't last but she could try.
Kyle nodded shhepishly and let go of Alexis. He got up and walked over to his desk, starting to write out reports and writing his speech for tomorrow.
"Alexis...You aren't leaving. I promised you I would protect you and I would. Those are just nerves talking. Go shower up and get some rest.""
Fine. We shall talk tomorrow about this. " with that said she entered the shower. At night , when she got to sleep she cuddled Kyle.
