Shadow Jane is not usually seen with her iconic shadow armor. Dressed fully in black ( head to toe ) , not even her face can be seen by most. Her black helmet hides her face features almost perfectly. When her helmet is not put , her black hair can be seen going down her shoulders and her white eyes are enough to put the fear in her enemies.

Personality: Shadow Jane is rather friendly when it comes to interacting with other mortals. Most people are afraid of her because of her appearance so must ignore her before they get the chance to meet her.

Backstory:

Jane Blackburn was born as a normal human on the streets. She learned to steal from a young age and at the age of 16 she was the youngest thief to be introduced to The Coin. The Coin was a cult inside the major thieves guilds in the world. They all worshiped Ashevelen as their Goddess. At first she was skeptical of everything The Coin stood for , how could someone that steals for a living to worship the Goddess Of Luck. After 4 years , she understood that Luck was everything a thief will ever need.
At the age of 23 , she was hired to steal an ancient artifact from a known criminal. She went inside the criminal's mansion and she didn't expect that the artifact to be booby-trapped. A deadly poison was going though her body and a part of her organs failed working. She knew she was about to die , so she started to pray to Ashevelen for help. Ashevelen answered the call and a shadow appeared near Jane.
She was asked to merge with the shadow in order to save her life. She did so and she became the only Half-Shadow - Half-Human hybrid. After she returned with the artifact , she promised to Ashevelen to roam the lands to help those in need of Luck in their life in the Goddesses name.

Motivation: She is alive because of Ashevelen. She is ready to do anything for her.

Why have they been chosen as a hero?: Her devotion and reliance on Luck to do most of her jobs was what moved Ashevelen and when she heard the plea of help , she immediately sent a shadow to keep her alive because of her service.

Equipment: Black Magical Armor ( it's heavy armor , imbued with magic that allows it to not make any noise when she moves )

Domain: The Underworld

Powers: Death and Fear power for bringing about his legend to the mortal world. Control over the dead and dying, he is truely a enemy of life and will stop at nothing to let the mortals know there isnt a light at the end of the tunnel. Hence the power behind fear. The fear of that manifests in the mortal world feeds him for as long as its needed. The screams of their agony and horror bring smiles to his face

Vulnerabilites: like any death or fear god. Courage and life are his weakness. When there is a dying soul in a family. The birth of life will have him stall the death for a time. And Courage is means for one to overcome their worst fear and he despises it for that very reason because he will loose his strength

Appearance: looking like the reaper himself a truely dark menacing look fitting for the death god and being the master of fear the perfect look for a shapeshifter to physically go to the real world and become what people fear most

Region or location: In the land of Nersulhiem the worship of this dark god is well known. These fearful mortals go to the nearby lands and snatch up sacrifice so that their god remains pleased and his cruelty doesnt touch their land and waste away their crops and livestock, or take the souls of the young leaving the old to whimper and suffer. They will stop at nothing to make sure their lord is pleased. Mainly peasent and nobles but never a king. No, the people of this land answer to the Oracle. A woman blessed with the word of the Dark Lord and is his voice to them. When war takes place she is the one to decide the fate of her people.

Personality: dark, cruel and twisted

Opinions: All Gods are at least aware of the existence of the other Gods in the pantheon, so naturally they would have some first impressions at the very least before the events of this RP. Provide at least a paragraph for each other God for how your God thinks of them. (WIP)

Tales: Optional, think Greek or norse tales. Something that could explain the appearance of the sun, or drama between two Gods. You can collab tales with other players, or make your own. Tales don't have to be true, they could be exaggerated or simple myths, but they could also have some truth of them, though only your God would know the truth about the Tale.

Mariner Vorris [+]

Name: Mariner Vorris

Age: 357

Race: Human (for the most part)

Gender: Male

Description: Vorris is a tall, gaunt figure dressed in sullen rags and ropes, face concealed by a bundled cloth. His skin is a pale blue, covered in things like grooves and barnacles as a result of Nagargu’ul’s influence, and spending so much time underwater. He wears a very large, tough straw hat, normally meant to keep the sun out of his eyes when he’s on the surface, now covered in a tattered net and rough white coral.

Personality: Vorris is a silent, stalwart force. He possesses little in the way of hobbies, interests, or anything of the sort. He is simply an agent of Nahargu’ul’s will, and he considers himself nothing more than that. The man he once was, he has done his best to forget.

Backstory: Long ago, back before the Cataclysm and the Silence, Vorris was a pirate and a slaver. He was second in command to one of the most ruthless captains of that time, a man known only as Argyle. He was as he is today - quiet, steadfast, and not easily overpowered. By many, he was seen as nothing short of a heartless criminal, but something changed his thoughts as time went on. He began to regret the atrocities he’d committed, the riches he’d helped pilfer, and the people he’d helped oppressed. All the while, he clung to his faith in Nahargu’ul, which he believed was what kept him safe for so long. He wanted for little, always throwing his share of any haul overboard to appease the sea God, much to Argyle’s displeasure.

Eventually, tension between the captain and his first mate reached a boiling point. Vorris didn’t just want out, he wanted the rest of the crew to give up their criminal lives as well, before they met their deaths out in the waters. No one sides with him, rather supporting Argyle on the basis that they’d yet to fail thus far. But in truth, Nahargu’ul was testing them, and at that precise moment, poised and ready to strike. With Vorris tied to an anchor and positioned to be thrown off the ship, Nahargu’ul himself reached from the depths and grabbed the vessel with on hand, crushing it.

Vorris, Argyle, and the rest of the crew drifted down to the bottom of the ocean. But Nahargu’ul appeared before Vorris and offered him an ultimatum - “Become my champion, and live to serve me. Refuse, and die with your kin, and your regrets.”

It’s fairly clear what choice Vorris made. All his loyalty to Argyle vanished in that moment, and he was given breath. He was reborn in a watery trench, and molded into a weapon against his former fellows. He became the torrent which brought pirate vessels down into the depths. He claimed dominance over the leviathans of the worldly waters, as well as the waters themselves. Merfolk praised him as a hero to their kind, quashing any trace of pollution that would violate their livelihood. And after not too long a time, he became content with it all.

When the Cataclysm struck, Vorris was set to protect his and his God’s realm. He clashed against the corrupted creatures, and fended off the unrelenting waves to the best of his given abilities. When the conflict ended and the Silence was put in place, he settled to wait for the day Nahargu’ul would beckon him once more. Eventually, years passed, and he went into a deep slumber far below the surface of the ocean, encrusted in preservative coral, never disturbed until two-hundred long, quiet years later.

Motivation: Vorris has no definitive goal. He is simply fitted to do what his God commands, and if no command is given, then he will either rest on the rocks, or go about patrolling the ocean for ne’er-do-wells.

Equipment: Vorris wields a catch pole, now a relic from his criminal days. It has been warped into a shell-encrusted icon of a weapon, sturdy and jagged enough to go up against even the mightiest renegade krakens, and even a fair few of the creatures found on the mainland.

Magic: Vorris, through the myriad gifts granted to him by Nahargu’ul, is capable of the following - breathing underwater, fast and agile swimming, sensing vibrations, seeing in the dark of the depths, commanding the creatures of the sea to do his bidding, and controlling water in great volumes to his every whim.

Regarding names, random trivia time:
Nahash comes from the Hebrew Bible's Nachash, which is used for the serpent that tempts Eve into eating, and gaining knowledge of good and evil, to become 'as God'.

Benedict Kaspin [+]

Name: Benedict Kaspin

Age: Old. But he no longer ages.

Race: Previously Drakken

Gender: Male

Description:
Benedict is a gargantuan hominid Drakken. His body is incredibly muscular. Similarly to a rhino, Benedict has thick and armor like hide that protects him from most forms of physical assault. Arrows, swords, and most forms of bladed weaponry are ineffective on the first swing. Blunt weaponry is more effective, if enough force is applied. His body is slate blue coloration, with little variation in colors from one area to the next. His body, despite being generally aggressive in appearance Benedict has the foul attitude that only a herbivore could have. Benedict's diet is about 95% plants. He also eats a lot of coconuts. Like, a LOT of coconuts.

Benedict's clothing is akin to his lifestyle. Luxury is not exactly far up on the list of needs and his clothing is more for functionality then it is for anything else. He wears pants composed to sewn grey leather, and a large leather coat made of bear skin. All of his clothing was hunted and made by him- and the craftsman ship (or lack there of) shows his inexperience in the skill.

Personality:
Benedict is blunt, stubborn, and rude. For the most part, this is usually a bad thing. But to some, this aspect can be endearing. He will always tell it as it is. He knows human nature well, and due to his history he often thinks the worst of people. Benedict is a pessimist and a realist. And he will tell you that you are going to die. He will also tell you that he will do everything in his power to keep you from being killed. Despite his relatively angry and distrustful personality Benedict is still a relatively social creature. He forms a quick 'team' bond with people who work well with him. Even if he doesn't necessarily like them (or if they dont really like him). He will play favorites. If he knows someone is better than you at something he will give you zero chance to improve because he will always play to them.

Much like the dragon, which Benedict is similar to, he is protective and possessive... of his stuff. If you want to be brutally maimed or worse, steal. Benedict also has an really bad temper and an INFAMOUSLY foul mouth. This guy is the shakespeare of curse words and he has literally come up with more insulting or slang terms than anyone has ever thought possible. It's like the damn guy has probably researched this shit. Like, have you ever met a person who has called a prostitute a 'Slattern'? Well, now you have!

He also takes an unusually large amount of pleasure out of seeing other people get hurt by doing stupid things. He's no psychopath, and he's not going to torture anyone just cause. He will be efficient and... messy though. That's his style. Leave no survivors and a mess for someone else to clean up.

No, Benedict doesn't want to be loved. No, he doesn't need a hug. No, he doesn't secretly crave attention. He's not a people person. He's very much okay with being left alone for the most part. He was born a loner. He thinks he will die a loner as well.

Backstory:

Benedict was neither honorable, nor noble.

He was a selfish, angry creature that was mad at the world for a reason he couldn't even define. While he was never outright evil, he was tempted by the Betrayer himseld- Ancalagon.

While following Ancalagon, Benedict did several terrible, horrible things to his kind and to others in a quest to further a being who had made him believe he was doing something right. Destruction of homes and places of worship, defamation, and murder are amoung them. As the saying goes: "The path to evil is paved with good intentions." Kilgarrah was mortified by Benedict's actions, and exiled him. Turning him from a Drakken into something he considered... less. Benedict 'lost his wings'. And as a result lost his home, or whatever he had left of it.

But, Iuppiter still saw good in Benedict. Iuppiter taught him that when you look for the light, one can often find it. And so, Benedict began to get better. Slowly, and painfully, he transformed from an angry monster into a grumpy reptilian man.

When Kilgarrah saw his progress, he gifted Iuppiter with Benedict's soul. Trusting his brother to do what he was best at- showing Benedict the light. However, Benedict still battles his inner evils. He holds a deep disdain for Ancalagon. He wishes to slay the Primeval Betrayer.

Motivation: To atone for his sins and slay Ancalagon.

Why have they been chosen as a hero?:

"You have light, and peace inside of you. If you let it out, you can change the world around you. You're not the man you used to be. You are stronger and wiser and freer than you have ever been. And now you have come to the crossroads of your destiny. It's time for you to choose. It's time for you to choose good. There's nothing wrong with someone helping you get there."

Equipment:
Benedict has nothing more than the clothes on his back and a magical cinderblock with a chain welded to it given to him by Iuppiter, and made my Ha. The cinder block and chain are unbreakable. On the face of the cinder block, the words "The Truth" are scratched in.

Magic: Benedict has an innate magical resistance as a result of Kilgarrah's curse. This means that Benedict can neither cast magic nor can he be effected by it.

I also understand that Benedict will likely never even come close to slaying Ancalagon. He will likely be talked out of that goal as well. A wish for murder is not progress, after all.

Name trivia:

Iuppiter is from a vocative combined with pater, and essentially meant "father Jove": Proto-Italic "djous patēr", with "djous" meaning ‎(“day, sky”) + "patēr" ‎(“father”), from Proto-Indo-European "dyḗws" ‎(“lit. the bright one”), root nomen agentis from "dyew"- ‎(“to be bright, day sky”).

It's also considered to be another form of the the word "Jupiter", and thereby "Zeus".

@dragonmancer I have another question for you because why not? After three hundred years of hell on Gaea basically, what's the technology level right now? Are we talking stone ages or Middle Ages? I know the Silence wasn't as devastating as the Cataclysm, but I'm curious to know what shape the mortal realm is in.
