Denali stood at the mouth of the den watching the surrounding forests ever so vigilantly, his eyes catching each little movement. He peeked over his shoulder to take a look deeper into the den, able to hear the rest of the small pack sleeping heavily inside. With a small smile, Denali took a deep breath as he stretched out his body and began to pad off through the clearing. The Betas could handle keeping a watch on things while he was gone. Denali felt it was a good morning for a border patrol. He was strong enough to take a few wolves on by himself, he'd done it before. He'd also battled the previous Alpha and won that fight, as well, given his fresh status as an Alpha. He'd only been the Alpha of Shadow Ridge Pack for the last year and a half, but he felt he had been born to be one.
Before Denali was Alpha, he'd been an Omega but only due to the fact the Alpha didn't much like Denali. Denali was young and reckless, and the pack jokester. He got along with everyone in the pack and even some of the 'rivalry' pack members who dared spend time near the Ridge pack. Denali never purposefully challenged the previous Alpha. The previous Alpha became fed up with Denali always sneaking off to hang out with the 'rivals' and he was going to put an end to him. Guess who picked the wrong wolf to mess with?

Shadow sat by the lake staring out over the crystal blue waters, listening to the morning birds chirping away and the ducks playing in the shallows a few yards away. It was always a habit of hers to get up before the rest of the pack to escape for an hour before they all woke to get time to herself before the bickering ensued. What with the food being scarce and the cats constantly roaming through the territory, the bears stealing what little food we can manage to get and our 'sister' pack being a nuisance. There was always something new that came along with the same old story, every morning. A sudden shadow cast over Shadow, herself, causing her to flinch slightly, looking around nervously only to find the guilty animal. A bald eagle flying overhead was in search of a morning meal. Almost instantly, Shadow's stomach began to growl. Flattening her ears to her head, she grumbled to her stomach while pushing to all fours, "Alright, fine. We'll get food." Shadow strolled away from the lake and disappeared into the treeline in search for something small to hold her over till the others woke up and they could all go on a real hunt.
Location β Rebel's Reign
Interacting With β Tobias, her cub
Freya padded slowly across the cliffs through the territory the wolves called Rebel's Reign where it was neither packs land, but where the rogue and lone wolves lived their lives. Behind Freya, she could hear Tobias clumsily following at her heels, stumbling on small rocks along his path while Freya simply glided right over them. Tobias made Freya smile. He had come so far since his birth a few short months ago, and had learned so much. The fact his father wasn't around to see him get here put an aching in her heart. Freya came to a slow stop and sat down at the edge of a cliff and turned to look at Tobias. "Now my love, would you like to try a hand at hunting on your own, today?" Tobias looked up into his mothers eyes as he too sat down at the cliff's edge, tilting his head slightly. "I think I can manage." Freya smiled at him and leaned over, licking her only son across is head before turning away to wander off towards the lower part of the canyon with Tobias following close behind.
