The very first thing Harvey noticed once through the portal was that he was surrounded by short, stout men with enormous fungal caps replacing everything above their eyebrows, and all of them were pointing spears at him. Compared to the last two times he'd entered a suspicious doorway, this was a drastic improvement. At the very least, these disgusting semi-humans were only threatening him, and not actively attacking him. He could work with this.

The second thing Harvey noticed was that that nasty orange wrestler had decided to follow him. This was... also workable. These mushroom-covered toadies were focusing almost exclusively on Jasper, and very clearly treated him with more suspicion. Getting out of this situation alive wouldn't take much effort, let alone any outright lies. Harvey could afford to scrape by on half-truths and omissions.

"Don't kill me, I'm a lawyer!" Harvey cried, throwing his hands up. "That crazed orange thug is trying to kill me, and I escaped through this door! You gotta stop him!"

The feeling of someone being right behind him struck Harvey like a sack of bricks; someone else was coming through! Harvey made a break for a gap in the Toads' lines just as Ainz and Kieri burst through the doorway. Judging by the way the Toads faltered, they were a seriously weak gang. Weaker than the Schoolboy Shufflers, possibly.

With as much strength as he could muster, Harvey sprinted away from the doorway and through the town square. He had seen something that looked vaguely like a body of water-- a river or a lake, possibly a reservoir--down by that large, castle-like building. If Harvey could reach that, he'd be golden!

Down by the lake, a black-and-gold humanoid figure sat on a bucket full of bait. Certainly, this was a strange circumstance. Gone was the hustle-and-bustle of Japanese urban sprawl, replaced by a laconic town with a towering castle. Any normal person would be freaking out.

But Haruki was not a normal person.

Haruki knew that the ordinary reactions of someone in a strange situation against their will- mindless aggression, fear, panic, subjugation- would just be counterproductive. There was no reason to freak out, because there was every reason to freak out. Haruki knew that his situation should be approached as calmly as possible. And so, he sat in this strange world. And so, the laconic town on the hill behind him and the castle across the lake as far and as different as possible from the urban sprawl and seaside of the Japanese town he called home, Haruki was fishing.

Okay. Let's go from the top.

Haruki removed a lure from his hat and tied it to the rod.

This is not Japanese architecture. I'm not in Japan.

A skilled cast sent the lure hurtling towards the center of the lake.

The fish I can see are huge and bulbous. Red and green. Not what you'd see on Earth in this climate.

He reeled in another Cheep Cheep, placing it in the live catch bucket.

Some monsters can send you through time and space. Of course, the news didn't say anything about a kaiju attack on the Early Warning System this morning.

He cast again, still deep in thought.

Of course, there's the possibility of alternate dimensions. Ginga, Max, that Orb guy... yeah, alternate dimensions are TOTALLY a thing. I'm sure there's some kind of disturbance they can trace to find me. Best to just keep calm and not mess things up.

And so, the Valkyrian sat, in contemplation, rod in hand.

Harvey responds with little clue as a sudden portal opens up near the man in the goggles, the fish suddenly propelling himself towards it with water coming from his mouth. As Vader prepares to grab the fleeing fish with the force, he then hears a conversation coming from Ainz and the girl that stumbled into him. The skeleton man seemed to have recognized a choke collar on her neck and managed to free her, in return for knowing where they are. Of course, with the portal having been opened, there seemed to be no other way to go then there. In fact, it was suddenly coming to the sith's realization that this was not his world. And even if it was, without a ship, he's not able to go anywhere, even being a rather skilled mechanic from the days he was a jedi... the days when he was Anakin Skywalker.

A sudden vision came to his mind as he recalled his life from the days on Tatooine with his mother, becoming a jedi, the marriage of his wife Padme, the Clone Wars, losing against Kenobi, and his rebirth as Darth Vader. This all happened in a matter of seconds as he suddenly comes back to reality. Wherever this portal will lead him, it may eventually take him back to the Empire... no matter how long it will take. With Ainz and the girl walking to the portal, Lord Vader simply followed this time. He then steps into the portal and goes inside, expecting something quite bizarre to be on the otherside...

And indeed, after he steps outside, he is landed in the middle of a town. A town filled with giant Mushroom-houses and Mushroom people with spears. It seemed as if they were in the middle of an ambush or so. The mushroom soldiers were absolutely tiny compared to him, weak and brittle. He can easily kill them. He then ignites his crimson lightsaber, igniting with it's signature hum as he prepares to slice them into pieces...

Despite his stubby legs, Harvey could run at a decent clip when he needed to. Charred Toadhouses passed Harvey by as he sprinted down the road, their stunned little occupants watching him with mild interest.

As Harvey neared the waterfront, a distinctly un-Toadlike figure quite surprised him. The costume, the helmet, the stance-- this guy was one of the Salvation Rangers! As far as Harvey cared, the Rangers were just a bunch of guys in silly costumes, pretending to be superheroes and supervillains to live out the rest of the last generation in their own fantasies. Of course, the last time Harvey saw the Rangers, they'd been massacred by one of their own, now a Joy Mutant. Details like that, Harvey realized, didn't matter in the current situation.

"Hey! You, with the helmet!" Harvey called out to Haruki as he ran straight for his fishing spot. "There's a bunch of freaks chasing after me, saying they want me to steal a ship or something! I need your help either driving them off or getting the hell away from them!"

Roland stifled his stealthy jog and did a double take over his right shoulder. A young man had fallen out of a tree, and unfortunately his new companion had stopped to acquaint himself. York reminded Roland of Eddie more and more every second. The pulsating blue light continued to pulse in the distance, and if Roland knew anything about crazy paranormal happenings (and he did) he knew that it may be their best shot at elucidating an answer to their situation. Hell it could maybe even bring them home. Roland performed his standard quick analysis of the person who York had just helped up.

The man wore strange attire top to bottom. Unlike with York, Roland had never seen dress from this culture. Another aspect through Roland's mind for a loop. The man wore a mask that completely covered his face up with the exception of his left eye. This made Roland immediately suspect the man. In his years of experience, the only people who covered their faces completely were those who held dark secrets. He supposed that he had dark secrets as well. Grunting loudly enough for the two to hear several feet away, Roland spoke authoritatively. "Come you two," he assumed the other lad would be coming along as well, "I promise there will be time to exchange information later. For all we know, that light in the distance could provide us with the answers we seek." Considering the bizarre circumstances that brought these three together, that assessment seemed as correct to him as any other could.

Roland moved with the group with light and speedy feet. He had learned in his many years of traversing different terrains how to move quickly without making too much noise. The other two may not follow suit, however. After a few minutes the newly formed ka-tet would reach a point in the tree line in which a bright electric blue arch had formed in the middle of an open field. They were just in time to catch two ominous figures, one with a smaller being on his shoulder, walk into the arch casually. Beside it was a high-tech looking turret, and a burly looking man with a hard hat on. Roland almost choked when he saw the arch; this arch did not look anything like the doorways the Man In Black had created for him whence he awoke on the edge, but they did indeed appear to be some kind of doorway. Doorways meant other worlds, and Roland knew that there are other worlds than these. He awaited in suspense for his two compatriots to make their own assessment, and expected them to formulate some kind of approach before they actually advanced. @BringBack1996 @DeathXtheXTree

Ken

After grabbing his bag, he started to follow the two men, York and Roland, Ken still felt the sting on his arm and cringed a little with every movement. He didn't want to slow them down, but he also noticed how the Cowboy was staring at him with an expression that he gotten before. From where? He wanted to pull off the mask with his free hand, and done so to show Roland his face and not to be mistaken as a threat. He can remember bits and pieces of that similar looks from somewhere. He held onto the mask in the same hand that he had taken it off.

"I'm sorry..." Ken whispered under his breath, barely audible for anyone to hear. He didn't want to be left alone, and he had a feeling that this was going to be long journey.

Ken felt a sharp pain on the back of his head, by ignored it so that they didn't stop. The strange gate caught his attention, the alluring blue color reminded him of someone from somewhere. That someone who wanted to see him, but failed to recall her name. He winced again from the pain, he did not slow down their pace to reach the door. He huffed a little with each step that they've taken, he felt that sting on his arm again, however, this time was different. The warm to cooling liquid he felt on his arm wasn't a coincidence at all, he had a feeling that he was bleeding out from somewhere, and it was his arm. He ignored it to keep moving with York and Roland.

Ainz

After entering the portal, Ainz noticed the little men and women pointing spear at the orange one again. It was after he made his presents with Kieri on his shoulder for them to switch their attention over, but they've failed miserably at the attempt to scare him or to make him feel afraid of them. He stood their with a blank expression, as he could muster, and watched Kieri jump off of his shoulder to... Was he seeing this right? The little angel was trying to defend him? A dark laugh came from him. He went over and plucked Kieri up and placed her on his shoulder again.

"After getting that choker off, you are still numb. Let myself and the Sith Lord deal with... These munchkins." Ainz stated dully.

Shortly after he said that, he heard the him off a plasma sword go off behind him and Kieri. Maybe he could use a spell, but then again, using a summon would be much easier to handle than draining his reservoirs for these shrimps. He raised his arms a tad to summon a low tier summon.

"Come forth my pets, Bone Vulture and Wraith. Your master calls for you to take care of these diminutive beings." He whispered.

Just a few feet on either side of himself, the ground trembled. Through the ground came first was the Bone Vulture. It shook it's moulting feathers and gave a shriek before it flew off while picking up two of the Toads. Next came the Wraith that hovered near him before it started to wail and cause fear in the hearts of the beings. He knew this was over kill, but ignored it due to the fact that someone much stronger comes out of the shadows to face them. He watched from the side lines with Kieri on his shoulder, but remained vigilant of the surroundings.

Across the lake Haruki was fishing from (and what Harvey was running up to) stood a castle. It looked like it could have been grand at one point or another, it's grey cobblestone framework standing resulted despite the destruction around it. However, it too had suffered-several hole in the wall had been made, a bridge that had crossed the river had been blown apart, and most tellingly a stained glass window that had been on the tallest tower of the castle had been blown out from the inside, replaced by a tarp with a grinning reptilian face on it.

To the two Koopas that were currently loitering at the castle's front door, this was a normal sight to them. Haruki and Harvey were not.

"Er, am I seeing this right?" Asked a Green Shelled Koopa to a Red Shelled one. He scratched his head, trying to figure out if Cheep Cheeps could have that much difference between species. The Red Koopa scoffed at the question.

"Wish I wasn't. Those things are eyesores to me," he complained, rolling his eyes "still, that taller one will give us a good meal once we confiscate his bucket of fish. Heck I'd take the fish man himself for a meal personally."

"You and me both. So, shall we report this to General Morton?" Asked the Green Shelled Koopa, referring to his commanding officer. The Red Shelled Koopa eyed the Green Shelled one as if he had just sprouted a second head.

"You do know he's out on a bombing run, right? Lord Bowser doesn't expect him back until later tonight." The Red Shelled one stated simply. The Green Shelled one shrugged.

"You and I both know Morton likes to finish jobs early. I wouldn't be surprised if he showed up in-hang on...Do you hear that?" The Green Shelled Koopa asked, pausing mid sentence. The Red Shelled one blinked a few times, but soon he heard it to. A low, humming sound, like turbines being worked to their absolute limit. And they were getting closer.

"I'll be damned. Guess a broken clock is right twice a day, eh Green Shell?" The Red Shelled Koopa asked snakily. The Green Shelled one ignored his companion.

----------------------------------------

To say the Toads were terrified would be an understatement. More and more dangerous looking individuals were coming through the portal, and if this kept up not only would they be out muscled, they'd be out numbered too. With each new motion, be it Kieri summoning her blade, Darth Vader activating his light saber, or Ainz summoning two hellish like beings. Kieri in particular had winced at that last one, somewhat glad now that Ainz had insisted she stay on his shoulder. She couldn't help but wonder what had made the skeleton so protective of her, though she did have experience with those who had less than savory exteriors being rather kind on the inside. Still, it was too early to judge whether Ainz would turn out to be one of those people.

The Toads meanwhile stood their ground admirably. They were obviously scared witless, even their General, but a look into their eyes would tell anyone how hardy they had become. The ones guarding Jasper, who had yet to make a move, could be justified in that they hadn't actually seen anything else that had come through the portal, but the ones who looked them dead on refused to move, merely tightening their grips on their spears as they awaited them to make the first move.

At least, they were, until a siren pierced the eery calm in the air. General Shif T. froze in place, and his face finally betrayed the fear in his mind. "Oh no..." He murmured, his eyes looking past the legion of power forces in front of him and to the castle beyond. Or rather, above it.

"Everyone below ground, n-!" Started Blot T., though he found himself unable to finish that sentence. Jasper had finally gotten bored enough to strike. The powerful quartz warrior had grabbed the Toad by his neck and slammed him back down into the ground, grabbing his spear and snapping it with one hand. The other toads started jabbing and stabbing, but though Jasper would occasionally grunt, she fought on, seemingly oblivious to the dozens of toads running for cover around her.

At least she was, until a shadow was cast on her back.

"What the..." Muttered Jasper, currently rearing back to head butt an unfortunate looking Toad in the face when the shadow was cast. She looked up and suddenly felt very, very small.

Up above were a fleet of five flying wooden battleships. There were four smaller ones, each equipped with perhaps a half dozen canons and kept in the air via propellers sticking up where the sail should've been. The fifth one, however, dwarfed the other four, having a full dozen canons and a far steeper bow. On said bow was a silver face of a bald, roaring face, with a star tatoo over their left eye. Jasper hadn't known it yet, but she had just gotten her first glimpse of Morton Koopa Jr.

------------------------------------

"Sir is there any particular reason we've flown past the castle? We're running on empty in regards to fuel, troops, and explosives." Berated the Hammer Bro assigned as the second in command to this particular bombing run. Morton, who had been looking out a window down on Toad Town, glanced over his shoulder, a mischievous looking spark in his eyes. He turned on the Hammer Bro, somehow making him look larger than the Hammer Bro despite said Hammer Bro having four inches on Morton.

"You remember how we're supposed to make sure no structure in Toad Town is supposed to be standing, right?" Morton asked in a gruff voice, a toothy grin adorning his face. The Hammer Bro looked incredulous.

"Yes, we made sure of that last week," the Hammer Bro explained slowly "there's no way they would be dumb enough to-"

"Well they have!" Declared Morton, pushing the Hammer Bro's face against the window he was looking out of. Though his face was being a bit smooshed against the window, the Hammer Bro could see the newly 'constructed' portal that now stood in Toad Town Square.

"Huh. Alright, fine, they have something new," the Hammer Bro said, his voice a bit smothered due to the aforementioned window smooshing "but we're so low on everything sir. Surely General Wendy or Ludwig can-"

"NO!" Said Morton quickly, grabbing the Hammer Bro by the lapel of his...Shell "We are going to handle this. Prep the Bob-Bombs." The Hammer Bro briefly questioned his line of employment before giving the signal to the coopers around him piloting the battleship. A few button presses later, and the hull started opening.

---------------------------------------

The hulls opened slowly, making those on the ground wait to see what was actually inside the ships. However, it soon became apparent when what was inside started falling to the ground. From a distance, they looked like large black balls, each about the size of a small boulder, falling from the ships with little organization over Toad Town. They occasionally flashed a bright reddish orange, but exactly what they were didn't become apparent until two of them got too close to one another and crashed in the air. The resulting explosion gave away their identity as bombs.

Kieri watched this with wide eyes, quickly channeling whatever ice magic she could in her hands as they got closer and closer to the ground. She was intent on freezing them before they even had a chance to explode, but there would be too many for her to get before they hit the ground. She glanced down to Ainz, hoping his assistance would continue.

----------------------

"Ah, my apologizes," York stated simply at Roland's instance on getting a move on "there are times where I stop to smell the roses at perhaps inappropriate times. Zach can testify to that." York finished. He was able to keep up with Roland surprisingly well despite helping Ken along, never more than five feet behind the cowboy. It was somewhat slow goings, but York soon arrived at the same destination all the same.

He had just missed Ainz, Vader, and Kieri entering the portal, but he could still see the man with the turret standing guard. And what an impressive turret it was. York was fairly certain not even the FBI had access to a machine quite that intimidating looking, and he couldn't help but wonder if it was as lethal as it looked. He could easily ask the apparent maker of the machine, but it would likely end with him getting blown to smithereens. If The Engineer was that kind of person. York put his index and middle fingers t the side of his head.

Profiling Start

The machine had no black marks around any of its firing holes, leading York to believe that it had yet to actually be used. Furthermore, The Engineer standing behind it didn't look like the lethal sort at all, at least not without reason. A man who could build something like that had certainly killed before, but he didn't strike York as the type who would kill for sport. The nearby crater briefly made York reconsider this stance, but there were no blast marks around the rubble. Whatever made that crater, it wasn't the machine or it's maker, and whoever had had to have gone into that portal.

Before York could consider the portal for profiling however, he noted Roland. The cowboy looked uncharacteristically pale, something York took note of. He didn't think Roland was the type to get scared by a man and his gun, so it had to be the portal that had led them here. He quirked an eyebrow at this.

"Look familiar to you?" He asked bluntly, deciding now was as good a time as any for a cigarette, which he withdrew from his carton and lit quickly, waiting for Roland's response.

Harvey watched Haruki haul another Cheep-Cheep out of the lake. It was probably the second-ugliest fish he'd ever seen: enormous, opaque eyes, the bulbous lips, and almost-feathery pectoral fins wrapped in a bloated case of leathery skin. This all but confirmed to Harvey that he was still in Olathe; most people didn't bother with trying to fish, especially when you could get a better meal hunting for snakes. Harvey decided that he probably shouldn't stick around for too long.

"Are you seriously going to eat that?" Asked Harvey, incredulously.

Haruki didn't respond to Harvey's question, and continued to fish. The sky darkened briefly as a small flotilla of flying boats soared in and bombarded somewhere a good distance away. Wasn't that where the doorway was? Had Haruki silently and motionlessly called in a bunch of flying things to strafe those bozos?

"That was quick!" Harvey remarked. "Thanks a bunch, pal!"

Harvey remembered that poor sex slave, and that poor construction worker, that he had carelessly abandoned to the mercy of the people who had so cruelly menaced poor, innocent him. He'd need to do something about that, assuming they hadn't been dragged along and obliterated alongside their captors.

"I'm gonna need some more of your help, though," said Harvey, a bit sheepishly, "There's a few people those guys you blew up were pushing around-- if you can help me get 'em together, I'd appreciate it."

Haruki looked down at Harvey. Some less well-traveled individuals might find this startling. However, being an alien from a galaxy where the names of planets included "Terrorist" and "Potato," having moved to a planet where giant monster forecasts came on the Weather Channel on the 4's, and sitting in an alternate universe, a talking fish wasn't that farfetched.

"Nah, I'm just seeing how many of them I can catch. It helps clear the mind."

When the ships passed overhead, the fisherman whistled and returned the lures to his hat. He tried to avoid laughing outright at the primitive vessels. WOODEN airships? It was like something out of one of Ikari's cartoons.

"Well, those aren't mine. My ship's in the garage back at Nebula House. You know, I'm still surprised the deck had parking for personal craft."

He poured the live catch bucket, cheep-cheeps included, back into the lake and collapsed his fishing pole. As he cleaned up and gathered his effects, he turned to Harvey and removed his hat

"You said some jerks were pushing someone around? Well... let's start by calling the cops I guess."

The alien produced a cell phone, seconds before realizing he had no reception OR idea what the local emergency number was. Sighing, he put it away, starting to walk up the hill.

"My name's Haruki. I'm a Valkian carpenter from Tokyo. What's your name?"

Lord Vader towers over the tiny Toads as he prepares to slaughter the Toads that were in front of him... along with having a vision of him killing some jedi younglings at the Jedi Temple. But before he can begin slicing them into bits, or use the force to push or grab them, he suddenly looks up to see several giant airships loom over them. The ships looked very primitive looking, being made of simply wood and use propellers to suspend themselves up in the air. They were simply pathetic looking. He almost laughed at them actually, which is a bold statement since it's been said that he never laughed as his time as a sith.

He stands motionlessly, his saber deactivating as he slowly looks up at the fleet of airships. They then open their hulls as they began dropping explosive bombs on them and the surrounding city. Vader scoffs at this as he raises his arms up, grasping at least twenty random bombs that were the closest to his and the other's position with the force. Then, with little effort, he literally chucks them back at the nearby airships. Three should be affected in someway by this...

"Pathetic little ships..." he mutters as he continues looking upwards.

As Samus expected a response of this Zack, her scanner suddenly identifies two portals opening up nearby. One was on the ground, the other being up in the upper troposphere. Instinct told the bounty hunter that she should fly towards it, even though she has no clue to where it will lead her. After a slight pause, the Bounty Hunter renters her ship and takes off as her gunship flies towards the portal. As she enters the portal, she is yet still unaware that the last portal she went though had taken her to an alternate dimension... and the chances of this portal taking her back there is highly improbable.

And indeed Samus finds herself in another strange location... actually it was a rather familiar place. Once again, this is a location she knew back in the tornaments regarding Smash Bros. This was Toad Town, or in broad terms, the Mushroom Kingdom. This was the home to the Super Mario Bros, Mario and Luigi, the beautiful Princess Peach, and the terrible King Bowser and his Koopa Kids! Now she definitely knows she has stumbled into an alternate dimension. She also notes the airships commencing an assault on the town, already dropping bombs on the poor inhabitants below. She needs to do something quick!

Samus then goes full throttle with her ship, racing towards the ominous ships as she opens fire with her gunship's cannons, aiming at one of the ships farthest from the others. As the ship goes down, Samus flies over the group unknowingly and prepares for another attack run on the easily breakable ships.

"Harvey Alibastor," Harvey stylishly flicked a business card from his hand to the brim of Haruki's hat, "Attorney at Law. Offense, defense, at great rates and all times. You need some justice dispensed, you call me."

Harvey looked at the airships as he and Haruki walked up the hill. They didn't seem to be doing well, all things considered. That big orange airship was even shooting at its buddies!
"Guess the locals have brought out their A-game. Wouldn't have thought anyone had the resources to make flying stuff anymore, especially ones with all that ordinance. Seems like a waste to me, really-- all that wood could've been used to fix these houses, y'know?"

As Harvey crested the hill, he managed to catch a good look at the goings-on over by the doorway. Sure thing, those three stooges were doing their damnedest to destroy anyone standing near them. Hopefully they'd tire themselves out ransacking the village, and Harvey could get those slaves back while they slept.

"See those guys?" Harvey said, pointing down at Ainz, Kieri, Jasper, and Vader. "The ones screwing with those mutants? Those're the ones I was talking about."

Harvey noticed that Kieri was inexplicably helping in the fight alongside her apparent captors.
"That kid in the angel costume, though..." Harvey sighed, "Stockholm Syndrome's a real kick in the pants. Far as I can tell, he used to be a slave. The ones they use for the real nasty shit. You wanna watch 'em a while longer, see if they slow down any?"

As Harvey and Haruki crested the hill overlooking Toad Town, several of the bombs Vader hadn't caught hitting the ground and causing audible explosions, they both felt taps of their shoulders. A quick glance of their shoulders, and they would find a little over two dozen Koopa Troopas standing right behind them. They looked Harvey and Haruki up and down with baited interest, knowing their orders to capture any and all odd persons for questioning. Could easily be mercenaries the Toads were looking the recruit. They needed someone after Mario went away, after all.

"Hey there," the one up front said slowly "how'd you two like to come back to the castle with us? It'll probably be a lot safer than it is out here, and you'll get to meet Lord Bowser and his kids! Doesn't that sound like a good time?"

@clanjos @Scrapula

--------------------------------

"Ahhhhhhh, that was easy enough, eh stiff neck?" Morton asked casually as the bombs fell from his ships and on to the town below. The Hammer Bro below him shrugged and looked on at destruction, a few early bombs already hitting the pavement around town and throwing up pavement (and occasionally Toads). It was all, however, things they had seen before. What they did notice that was off however was when the bombs hit the portal, they did explode, but it held firmly upright.

"Huh. Ah well, guess we'll need some heavy duty stuff to get rid of that," Morton commented casually, smirking a little "get the Bull-"

"I hate to interrupt sir," The Hammer Bro said, his voice rising in tone but otherwise sounding calm "but I don't believe Bob-Bombs are supposed to fly back at us. Evasive maneuvers!" Morton only dared glance at the flying back at them bombs for a moment before hitting the deck, feeling his entire personal ship lurch backwards and rock as some bombs hit the underbelly of said ship. It was durable, meaning it could take a hit like this and not be particularly bothered by it if it didn't fly for a while longer. With the castle right behind them, that wasn't really an issue.

Morton stood back up, groaning a bit as he checked on the rest of his fleet. Two more less durable ships had been effected-one had managed to stay in the air, smoking noticeably and missing a spots of wood and a canon. The other was on a downward trajectory towards the wooded area behind Toad Town, the propeller atop the ship having been knocked off in Vader's attack. Several Koopas and Goombas were abandoning ship, their para cousins being their saving grace in that. Morton didn't particularly care about those in the crash, but those who escaped could be useful-they'd end up in Toad Town after all. The survivors would be able to tell him just what the fresh Hell caused that to happen.

It was at that moment something bright orange flew past the observation window of Morton's battleship, heading for one of the ships that hadn't been effected by Darth Vader's bombing barrage (which was supposed to be his own, something Morton would be sore about for ages to come). To say it would stay in pristine condition would be a bold faced lie. Morton clenched his fist, growling audibly.

"Prepare the canons! Shoot down that UFO!" Hammer Bro commanded, a few underlings running around to prepare his orders as the other two surviving ships outside did the same, the damaged one far slower than the other two. The ship Samus had been attacking didn't crash into the ground, instead exploding into a fire ball and sending debris flying everywhere.

"Get the Paras ready! I want to know who or what the Toads have that could cause this! And someone fetch me my clown cart!" Morton barked out after the Hammer Bro, eyeing Samus' ship from the observation window before turning tail, stomping off to retrieve his personal vehicle.

----------------------------

The Toads above ground (mainly the ones that had been engaged by Jasper) weren't quite sure what they had just witnessed. First, someone had managed to stop the bombs in mid air and send them back at one of Morton's ships, causing one of them to crash. Shif T. made a mental note to loot that ship later, when things had calmed down. Then something had flown out of the portal in front of them and gunned down another, unfortunately not leaving much to actually retrieve from it in the process. Still, beggers couldn't be choosers.

Nearby, several of Bowser's underlings from the first crashed ship hit the ground with a thud, the only thing keeping them from going splat like several others that had jumped ship being their Para brethren. They groaned still, shaking their head as they looked around.

"Er...The heck are those guys?" One of the Goombas asked after a moment of looking. They didn't have long to contemplate this before they were under attack.

In hindsight, the ships weren't as impressive as they were large. Jasper had seen more impressive machines piloted and owned by Pearls, and what the ships had inside were absolutely pathetic excuses for soldiers. She had rolled straight into them, knocking them down like bowling pins, before headbutting a few into submission. the Koopa's shells were durable enough to take some hits, but the Goombas were outright squashed by her helmet and head.

After a moment, the ships had started to turn back around, heading for the sanctuary of the castle. But not without one more surprise. The back of their hulls opened, and out spilled out several winged Paragoombas and Paratroopas, perhaps a little less than a hundred in total, as they descended upon the town. If anyone were to look closely, they'd also see something else emerge from the back hull, but whatever that was, it was heading towards Samus' ship, not them, so they need not concern themselves wit it.

Roland opened his mouth to answer York when all of a sudden the ship they had been observing in the space before flew through the electric blue archway. Roland stared blankly for a moment at the scene. Things just continued to get hairier and hairier, and Roland had never known doorways to other worlds to be benevolent in nature. He had no doubt in his mind that the archway was going to take them somewhere bizarre and probably unpleasant. However, in his experience extended, usually when one of these appeared behind it were answers that he wanted. Or companions. Roland recalled how he had met with Eddie and Susannah. There only choice was to walk through that portal.

Roland stood up and fingered the trigger guards on his legendary revolvers. Brandishing them, he spun the seemingly heavy firearms right out of their holsters and to his side. The sight was definitely something one would see in an epic western. Roland finally answered York after digesting the situation fully. "Yes, and these doorways always lead to other worlds." Roland paused and looked at his two new compatriots before continuing. "And always behind them is some strange form of evil. You need to make sure you are physically able to take this journey with us, or stay here. We can afford to wait no longer. " Roland said specifically at Ken, who appeared to be internally injured past the extent of his fall. Roland had no intention of babysitting.

Giving the two a moment to assess their situation, Roland then motioned with his head (his hands were holding the impressive .45 sandalwood grip revolvers) for the two to come if they were coming. At a run much faster than what he had run before, and one that was astonishingly quick for a 50 year old man, Roland made a break for the portal. He would give the engineer a side long glance, ready to shoot, as he passed him and his turret briefly. Roland plunged himself headlong into the archway.

Overcome with a static sensation and then the feeling of being pulled into another place, Roland was transported from the world he woke up in to a brand new one. The aging gunslinger emerged into chaos. In front of him were a group of individuals, likely the ones he had caught a glimpse of walking in, performing various actions. There were two seemingly demonic being attacking...little mushroom people... and an orange crystalline being rolling into hideous little bipedal things. and humanoid turtles. This was a little bit too much for the old man. He looked up to observe even more fantastic events. The ship he had seen when he woke up had taken quickly to dog fighting. Giant wooden ships, some smoking with damage, were suspended in the air via simple propellers dropping bombs upon the foreign landscape. Roland tried to take it all in...a huge impact was heard behind him. Doing a quick 360 (unwise considering there were potential foes at his back) he witnessed a massive wreckage engulfed in fire where one of the wooden ships had just crashed into the forest. He would quickly turn around with an estranged look in both of his eyes as both of his companions should've been emerging through the gate.

This was truly bizarre. Roland knew that there were other worlds than his, but worlds like this? This did not appear to be magic that The Man In Black was capable of, however he could not rule out magic. Roland stood amongst the chaos with his two comrades knowing not what to do or where even to start. Roland could not even figure out who to point his guns at.

Haruki looked down at himself, then Harvey, then the turtle men, then the castle. Something was readily apparent. He didn't have his fancy dress cloak or anything!

"Well, I'm not exactly dressed to meet royalty, but alright."

With a flicker Mizn reactivated with all his systems coming back online the Automaton didn't need them to see he is on a different world. With his locomotive systems back online it swiftly stood up. Even without any advance scanners Mzin recognized that he was no longer on the planet it was originally on. 'This is not a sun blasted desert world,' Mizn though to as it took out a survey probe programming it to scan the area. After a minute the probe relaid a map of the surrounding area making a nearby structured. Hoping to find intelligent life the automaton found a blue arch with two humans by it. 'Good I can get some answers' with that Mzin approached the two organics. "Greetings humans I need information on this planet." The automaton said as he approached the arch.

Twas a strange ordeal that chanced upon Sir Eglamour. This was supposed to be a simple horseback trot into the woods for the game of sport preceding a spot of jousting; yet the situation that Sir Eglamour of Artois would find himself in was not the leisurely expedition he was intending upon. For Fortuna had found it fit to weave an altered path for the knight to trudge upon.

His hands held the reins of his steed as they entered the otherworld. Trotting forwards, Sir Eglamour turned his head towards the right and then towards the left. He took a mental note of the scenery. There were peaceful plains, a castle in the distance, serf huts were charred and of course the faerie creatures that seemed to inhabit the area. They stood naught taller than but a boy and their brows were consumed by monstrous fungi swarms.

"Straunge." Sir Eglamour of Artois mumbled aloud as he continued to lead his horse onwards "Meseems I needs to aspien mine path bak hom-ward."

This thought was halted as Sir Eglamour heard a loud and destructive force from above. "Yoicks!" cried out the knight as he peered skywards. The knight saw multitudes of dragons, presumably fighting each other for territorial dominance and to capture the hoard of the ones defeated. These airships were far too futuristic and technologically advanced for any sort of recognition as anything other than a dragon for the knight. They were large, flying and they were making loud and destructive noises. As such these contraptions clearly had to be dragons.

Certainly there was an expression of astonishment under his helmet, especially when he saw the one dragon start crashing down towards the woods. Quickly he pressed upon his horse as it began moving at a quicker gait and traveling towards the woods.

Sir Eglamour drew his lance and his shield as his horse charged forth. His trusty steed passed onward into the woods. "Ivel dragoun have at ye!" he hollered out as he began stabbing at the wrecked air-ship in order to make sure it was slain.

After all even in the realm of the faeries, dragons were foul creatures that needed to be slain.

"Oh...Really?" The lead Koopa said in surprise to Haruki's devil may care attitude. In the back, a small group of Koopas did their best to hide a net they had been intending on tossing over the two odd creatures in front of them. If they were willing to come of their own accord, it would be for the best not to agitate them. The head Koopa quickly cleared his throat.

"I-I mean of course! The king will happy to give you an audience," the Koopa said, more or less talking out of his rear as his group surrounded Haruki and Harvey, looking like a true guard "come, we shall escort you there."

-------------------------------

Sir Eglamour charged forward past retreating Toads, the crashing battleship impacting the ground with a very audible crash. Some explosions occurred thanks to leftover bob-bombs still inside, the ship breaking apart on impact. Debris were scattered everywhere, crashing atop already wrecked and charred houses. Eglamour's dragon sat, somewhat on fire but functional in that the canons still could fire. And the crew still on board took advantage of that, firing cannonballs every which way they could. They had been instructed to fire on any Toad, knowing they could very well be part of the resistance, and they followed these orders to the tee.

"Hellllllllp!" Cried a voice from a nearby building, more than likely catching the knight's attention. A quick glance over would let him see one of the disheveled houses, but with a pair of Toads that had been a bit slow getting away from the wreckage. One of them was unconscious, buried under the ruble of their own home with a female friend of his trying to unearth him. The going was slow, slow enough for several of the gunners of the ship to emerge. A little over a handful in total, the Koopas withdrew into their shells and the Goombas hopped atop, riding over to the downed pair of Toads. What they intended to do them could not have been good.

York watched as Roland went through the portal, hesitating for a moment to glance over to Ken. He still looked less than a hundred percent, something York easily took note of. He tapped out the ashes on the end of his cigarette, briefly wondering if Ken should really come with him. Things seemed relatively calm here, and it'd likely be best for him to recover at least from the concussion.

It was a good thing York hesitated on going through the portal too. Otherwise, he wouldn't have seen the incoming AI at all. York quirked his eyebrow as the hulking machinery approached, eyes flicking up and down Mizn briefly. Another non hostile machine by his mind's eye, perhaps even more so when he took into account the Third Law of Robotics. That was assuming he wasn't dealing with a particularly polite rogue.

"Your guess would be as good as mine," York explained to Mizn, shaking his head "though I'm guessing this portal is our best bet for some answers." He turned his attention to Ken briefly, York's usual straight face taking on a bit of concern for the kid.

"Now, if you feel like you can keep up, you can come. But that was a nasty fall you had earlier, so if you don't think you can I'd understand. Now then...If you'll excuse me, I suppose Roland is wondering what's taking me." York finished, turning on his heel and approaching the portal slowly. Roland's words played in his mind, how apparently these things always led to some great evil. If that were the case...Well, he and Zach had dealt with worse. York would persevere. He stepped through the portal, not looking behind him to see if Ken and Ainz followed.

It didn't take York long to at least recognize the odd creatures running around him this time. Video games weren't something York was fully familiar with, but it was hard not to recognize Toads, Goombas, and Koopas. Images of the phrase 'Your Princess is in Another Castle' briefly flashed through his head as to the untrained eye York looked completely numb to the chaos around him. In truth, he merely assessed the situation. He assumed anything or anyone that looked out of place were in the same boat as Roland and him, putting him in league with a large skeleton with an angel doing her best parrot impression on his shoulder, a large orange being who seemed content to pound upon Koopas and Goombas alike, and...Darth Vader.

"Well, at least we have powerful allies Zach. Though perhaps we may not fully be on the side of good this time." York commented dully, noting rather suddenly that Roland wasn't exactly looking very trigger happy at the moment. He could recognize sensory overload when he saw it, and Roland had it written all over his face and body language. He needed direction, and York...Well, he was there. He placed a hand on Roland's shoulder, withdrawing his own pistol from within his dress coat.

"Fire on the turtles and the brown mushrooms." He stated simply before doing just that, his bullets finding Koopa and Goomba alike. They fell down, several Koopas retreating to their shells as they watched their brethren fall around them. This just made it easier for Jasper to knock them around of course, sending more and more mooks to their doom by the second.

These turtle guys were probably not trustworthy. Harvey didn't care. They might rob him and his new partner of all their Mags and probably try to sell them off as slaves. Harvey didn't care. They were a most likely benign gang, they were leading Harvey straight to their leader, and they weren't human. That was all Harvey cared about.

"No problems here," Harvey calmly remarked, "let's go see the king."

Harvey spared a glance at the troopas surrounding him. They were undoubtedly going to attack him. They would stuff him in a sack, and drag him to their king, and the king would turn into a Joy Mutant and kill everyone, because that's exactly how this day was turning out to be. Harvey didn't care. He'd go stomp out those lunatics that chased him here on his own time, on his own terms. Probably. More likely, they'd end up getting themselves killed trying to take down one of the big warlords. Vega Van Dam, or Rex Thunderstorm, or maybe even Lardy Hernandez. Yeah, this wasn't his problem. All he'd have to do is chill out with these guys' leader for a bit, maybe recruit a few dudes to work in his gang, and get back to gettin' back.

"Oh! Hey, Haruki! Harvey whispered into Harvey's ear as he waited, "How'd you feel about a little business partnership with me? I lost my old buddies, and Olathe ain't safe alone, you know?"

Amidst the pandemonium of this strange and devastated little town, amidst the fleeing toads and the charging koopas and the desolation brought about by bombs and warships there stood a spot of calm. Well, truth be told it was a man, and he lay rather than stand. Clad in monastic robes, he observed the developing battle with an amused grin fit more for a theater function than a battlefield. He was wholly out of place, and yet incredibly easy to miss in the ensuing chaos. Yes, Isei was quite familiar with chaos, and after what felt like an eternity spent in relative peace he welcomed a return to the pace of his younger years.

Of course, it wasn't quite the same. Whereas before he would've jumped at the chance to test his mettle in the confusion, to prove his martial arts worthy of war and capable of meeting any test, he felt little need to dirty himself right now. The battle and the enemies were so...beneath him. It simply wouldn't be sporting. He had done his part, moving unseen to clear paths and allow the tiny, terrified mushroom creatures to flee if they wished to. And now he observed, and given his expertise found himself drawn towards the one massive humanoid, yellow-skinned and with a leonine mane, rampaging around unarmed.

"Hmmm, you've interesting physical gifts, but those are really quite useless when applied without skill", he nonchallantly said to Jasper, who by the whim of fate happened to skid to a stop near his current resting spot, placing a hand on her shoulder to get a sense of her musculature. That they might not share a language never crossed his mind, he had quite literally walked across the breadth of his world and it had rarely been a problem. "You rely overmuch on size and strength, expend plenty of energy when minimal effort would suffice, yet you do not appear a complete novice. You should be most dissapointed in whoever trained you for not teaching you this, you could be so much stronger".

Ken

Ken winced again at the underling of Roland's words, actions spoke louder than words and this was the case. He didn't want to be a burden but kept up with the. The loud sound of a jet or an aeroplane caught him off guard as he watched an orange and red blur flew past them and into the strange doorway. He stood there astonished, but he shook his head and followed the two men. What he didn't expect to see was a full on bombardment. He stood there, a little afraid as the pain in his head sharpened, he let out a small sigh and glanced back at the portal. Maybe it was best for him to stay behind, and maybe someone would've come back for him.

It was a split second later that he subconsciously activated his Kagune. The elongated tail like appendage sprang from his back, his eye shining a bright red as he charges at the turtles, the only thing small enough to make a "meal" of. He used his Kagune to attack and rip the shells off the turtles that came close to him. He ignored everything else around him, except for the turtles.

Ainz

Ainz would never expected the Calvary to show up a few moments later, the battle field was too much for him, but remained where he stood. He glanced up to see several... Battle ships? This place was much more weirder than the place where he was in before this. He gave a huff and raised his hands, before he could cast a spell, a ship flew out of the portal. Another enemy? He started to wonder again. Another ally would be like it.

Again, he raised his hands, but shortly interrupted by three more people coming through. This was not going to be his day. However, what caught his attention was the one that started to attack the turtles with an appendage expelled from his back, but surprised to see the bag was still intact. Considering that the one that started to attack was to be feared.

Once more, he raised his hands to chant a spell under his breath, making sure that Kieri didn't fall from his movements. A dark blue aura covered his and Kieris being, his posture did not faulter. This spell was taking a little chunk of his Mana reservoirs, and he stared at the aerial ships.
"Is that all?" He stated more to himself than anyone. He stared right at the one that was leading the fleet.

Ainz made sure that his summons we're taking care of the little on slaught that was on the ground. He was finally done casting the Black Hole spell. What came next was a small vortex that appeared behind one of the ships, it started to bring two of the ships that weren't fallen as of yet. He kept his stare at the ships, the dark blue aura left and the red came back to shroud his being. He watched as the two ships were being sucked into the Black Hole.
