Biography: Barnett grew up in the industrial surroundings of Scranton, Pennsylvania in a family filled with soldiers and steel workers, homemakers and secretaries. His life and youth in a working class environment was generally careless (bar the odd street fights). Barnett was apolitical in his adolescence in the mid-70s, more concerned with disco, damsels, and the gym. However, it was during this time that the manufacturing industry which held up America from Green Bay to Philadelphia started slowly but surely falling apart. With that it came huge trouble in his immediate circles, with much of his family, and the family of his friends losing their job and practically seeing their communities gutted. Instinctively he started affiliating himself with the Democratic Party. After all, they were the party of the little guy, the labourer, and of the liberals which Barnett, as a young man, was instinctively drawn to. And the Nixon/Ford overtures also gave it a push.

With opportunities in civilian life not being as good as they used to be, to say the least, Barnett entered college in 1976 and with a bachelor's degree in Pre-Law from the Pennsylvania State University. While at Penn State, Barnett enrolled in the ROTC program and was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in Aviation in 1980. He took his Aviation Officer Basic Course at Ft. Rucker, Alabama. He was qualified to fly both the UH-1H Iroquois Medium Lift Helicopter and the AH-1 Cobra Attack Helicopter. He served with the 18th Aviation Company, 269th Aviation Battalion, an XVIII Airborne Corps Asset at Ft. Bragg, NC from 1981 - 1985. While with the 18th Avn Company, he saw action against the Cuban Army on the island of Grenada in October 1983.

In 1985, Barnett was promoted to Captain and re-assigned as Company Commander of A Company, 1st Battalion, 228th Aviation Regiment in the 7th Infantry Division (Light) at Ft. Ord, CA. In this unit, he would fly the brand new UH-60 Blackhawks, which he was excited about flying. They weren't Attack Helicopters, but they were brand new and that made them extra special.

In 1987, Captain Barnett was re-assigned as the Battalion Personnel Officer (S1) which took him out of the helicopter and into an office job. He flew a desk for two years until he was promoted to the rank of Major and assigned as the battalion's Executive Officer. In late 1989, Major Barnett's 1-228 Aviation was deployed to Panama with the 7ID (L). He and his battalion conducted a few Air Assault Operations carrying Light Infantry into several hot Landing Zones in the Panama Theatre of Operations.

In 1990, Major Barnett was re-assigned to the 1st Armor Division in Germany where he was able to fly another brand new Aircraft, the AH-64 Apache Attack helicopter. He was assigned to the 1st Attack Battalion 501st Aviation Regiment "The Pisoleros". He was assigned as the Battalion's Operations Officer (S3) and deployed with the 1AD to Saudi Arabia in the Fall of 1990. He saw action from the cockpit of an Apache during the Gulf War.

Two years after the conclusion of combat operations in Iraq, Major Barnett opted to leave the military and return to school. This time, he would attend the University of Pennsylvania School of Law. In 1998, he received his Juris Doctorate of Law (JDL) and later that year, he passed the Pennsylvania Bar Exam. As a member of the bar, he became active as a legal adviser to various companies, large and small, in Pennsylvania.

After leaving, Barnett was left with a law degree, a decade's experience having a cool job in the army, but also a set of gifts. He was always quick on his feet in discussions, he had a poet's heart and a way with words. Whenever he was writing remarks, or a speech, the words would seemingly come streaming out of his fingertips. He was also a very different man in a very different political scene. During his time in the army he became a Republican and NAFTA was signed, something he resented as it in his view gutted the community where he came from. Restlessness and dissatisfaction led to him becoming politically involved for the State's Republican Party as a speechwriter, coordinator of groundwork for elections, and campaigning. A fast-rising star in the party, Major Barnett became Senator Barnett in 2004 after winning the Class 3 senate seat for the state in the wake of Arlen Specter's retirement. Generally a social moderate but a hardliner on issues such as illegal immigration, Barnett has always been a more-than-averagely known senator due to his staunch opposition to free trade. This has made him the odd man out before, but with the new administration his time to shine may have come.

Personal information: Since leaving the army, Barnett has been a resident of St Marys, Pennsylvania with his wife Katherine (47, May 9th 1969| Married 1989) and their youngest daughter Grace (17, October 27th 1999). Their four older children, Michael (27), Diane (25), Nicholas (23) and George (20) have already moved out. Barnett is a devout Roman Catholic.

Biography:

Born in Boone, North Carolina to Patrick and Elisa Hoke, Howard "Hal" Hoke studied international politics at UNC Chapel Hill, working his way through college through scholarships and as a part-time mechanic, having learned the trade from his grandfather. It was during his studies that Hoke became greatly involved in campus politics, aligning with the Republican Party. Seeing that his education and future was secured by his own hard-work, Hoke proved a staunch advocate for the typical American dream of limited government and success through personal achievement.

Following college, Hoke worked as a staff assistant during the presidency of George H.W Bush, whereafter he served in multiple foreign posts around the Middle-East. His first major appointment was as ambassador to Syria in 2004, however he was recalled following the 2005 assassination of Lebanese President Rafiq Hariri. Although he would remain in the region, primarily within Iraq, in a variety of diplomatic roles, Hoke would grow increasingly critical of American policy, most especially in regards to what he saw as excessive interventionism.

Politically, Hoke became deeply involved with the Republican Liberty Caucus and regularly corresponded with libertarian Republicans. In 2008, having resigned from diplomatic service, Hoke would throw his hat into the ring for the 5th District of North Carolina, challenging the incumbent Virginia Foxx. Against the odds, Hoke would prove victorious, however observers cite less his own personal appeal and moreso the unfortunate health issues suffered by Foxx in the period preceding the selection, requiring her to bow out.

Since 2008, Hoke has managed to cling to his seat despite dissent from among his own. Nationally, Hoke made a name for himself by spearheading the 2011 creation of the House Liberty Caucus, pushing him forward among his peers and allowing him a unique spotlight that intrigued those of the left and the right. Although fiscally conservative, libertarian views on social policy and foreign affairs has forced Hoke to suffer a variety of accusations of immorality, weakness, and "Democrat-ness" that so far has not succeeded in forcing him out. Within the House, his main focus has been on his work within the Foreign Affairs Committee, specifically the Middle East and North Africa Sub-Committee, where he has levied his own insults focused on the failings of both the Bush and Obama Administration.

This 2016 election, dividing as it was, saw Hoke originally on the side of Rand Paul. However, following his departure from the race, Hoke controversially threw his support behind Donald J. Trump. While not particularly trusting in his rhetoric, Hoke justified his endorsement by stating that a Trump Presidency had the potential to not only shake up the corruption of D.C, but also usher in a better chapter for American foreign policy.

Personal information:

In 1992, Hoke married his college sweetheart Lucy Reynard, with whom he has remained nearly inseparable from since the day. The two have one son - Randal Hoke - and two daughters - Ayn and Lindsay. The three work together to manage a technology company, operating it as a family business, though Hal himself is not involved in it.

Biography: Elliot Richards was born October 8, 1972 to Thomas and Hayden Richards of Wellesley, Massachusetts. Thomas Richards served as Chief Executive Officer for Massachusetts Financial Services (MFS) located in Boston, Massachusetts. The elder Richards made several donations to charitable organizations in Massachusetts and served as a Campaign staffer for George McGovern at his campaign office in Boston, in 1972. Massachusetts was the only state George McGovern won during the 1972 Presidential Elections.

Elliot Richards family vacationed on Martha's Vineyard and made frequent trips to their estate near Sonoma, California. Elliot was raised in the Roman Catholic Church and graduated from Xaverian Brothers High School in Westwood, MA. After High School, Elliot was accepted into Harvard University where he received an undergraduate degree in Economics in 1995 and a Juris Doctorate of Law in 1998. He passed the Massachusetts State Bar exam later that year.

Elliot's first job was as a Legal Associate at a major law firm in Boston; Dewey, Cheatham and Howe, to which his father, Thomas helped him secure through personal contacts. Elliot established himself as quite a successful attorney in the private sector, but he always envisioned himself more as having a life in politics than in a court room. He tolerated the law firm for five years, until he ran for and won a seat on the State Senate in 2000. He served eight years as a State Senator on Beacon Hill in Boston until an opportunity to run for the 4th Congressional District arose after the death of a career politician.

The previous Representative from Massachusetts was a popular Democratic leader who Elliot idolized. He helped out on the man's work in Washington DC when time was available. After learning of Representative Mark's death, Elliot decided he would make the best of this opportunity and try to replace him when the man passed away at the age of 68.

In 2008, Elliot S. Richards ran for and won the 4th Congressional District of Massachusetts and took his place at the House of Representatives in Washington, DC. Congressman Richards was a staunch supporter of President Barack Obama during both his 2008 and 2012 election campaigns. Personal information: Elliot S. Richards resides with his wife Susan (Graham) Richards in their home in Wellesley, Massachusetts with their three children, Thomas (18), Evelyn (16) and Jonathan (14). The boys are students at Xaverian Brothers in Westwood and Evelyn attends Mount Alvernia High School in Newton, MA.

Biography: Joseph Edward Paterson was born in the city of Hampton, near the important naval base of Norfolk. From an early age he was instilled with strong conservative and Catholic values. The youngest of three children (with an elder brother and sister), Paterson had, by all means, a very normal middle-class life. He attended the University of Virginia, graduating in 1990 with a BA in History (a concentration in East Asian History) and a minor in English. After graduation, he became heavily involved in local Party politics, before attending New York University and achieving his Masters (in History) in 1993. After stepping down as Chairman of the Hampton Republicans, he ran in the mayoral election of his hometown, being the first Republican to do so since the mid-1980s. His tenure as Mayor saw a decrease in city spending and an increase in immigration to the city. Deciding against running for re-election, he instead ran for the Virginia Senate, which he won in a narrow election.

He only served two years, however, as the Virginia Republicans -- desperate to run a young and dedicated Republican against the Democrat Mark Warner -- pushed and convinced him to run for the office of Governor. He won by several thousand votes, though his preferred Lieutenant Governor, Mark Earley, was beaten handily by Tim Kaine (later the Democratic Vice Presidential nominee in 2016). Paterson's tenure in the gubernatorial office witnessed (and supported) a rising hatred of taxes, and he led initiatives to reform the state tax code, which he effectively did. Restricted by the Virginia Constitution from running for a second term, he refused to rest on his laurels. Espousing a more socially conservative platform than he ever had before, he very narrowly won election to the House of Representatives, representing parts of Hampton and Norfolk. His ability to draw heavily on black votes in this time drew sharp contrasts with many other Republicans of the time. In the House, he was one of the few Republicans critical of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, though also drew a very strong line on the topics of terrorism, immigration, and controversies over Islam. He was re-elected in 2008 a bit more handily, though his District ended up siding with Barack Obama in the presidential election. By 2009 -- just before the emergence of the Tea Party movement -- he began to show several severe breaks with the Republican Party, and formally registered as an Independent that year. He chose not to run for re-election in 2010.

In the lead-up to the 2012 presidential election Paterson joined the Constitution Party and strongly supported the party's candidate Virgil Goode, who was also a native of Virginia. He remained one of the key members of the Party after the re-election of President Obama, and in December 2016, following the election of Donald Trump to the presidency, Paterson was almost unanimously elected Vice Chairman of the Constitution Party in a snap meeting of the Party Convention. Since then, he has served as the voice of the Party in local and national politics, and some have even considered him the "virtual voice" of the party.

Personal information: Paterson is the husband of Allison Marie Paterson (nee Kelly), born on 18 July 1971 in Houtzdale, Pennsylvania; they met while studying together at the University of Virginia. They are the parents of two boys, Charles Patrick (b. 4 March 1995) and Michael James (b. 22 August 1998). Paterson's elder brother, Oswald, is a Republican Representative of New York's 2nd Congressional District (elected to replace Peter King, who decided not to run for re-election), and his sister Rose is one of the chief executives at the largest electronics manufacturing plant in Virginia. Paterson is a devout Catholic. He is well known for his campaigns to raise awareness about the dangers of smoking, and is an ardent enemy of over-consumption of alcohol, primarily due to the death of one friend at college while drunk driving, and another friend's participation in Alcoholics Anonymous.
