Between Catholic high school, college Religion class, and general wiki-walking, and vague memories of Sunday School it's just there along with random tidbits.
The Satanspawn went to a parochial school. Amusing, no?
Dinner is indeed good.

I'm not sure what the inside joke is but the first thing that comes to mind is Undertale. I waited three years for that game to come out and naturally the internet spoiled the plot and ending within a week. Plus Chara isn't really evil. They are influenced by what you the player did. We only saw them once in one specific situation so we can't really take what they say at face value.

I hope you enjoy breakfast. Bon appΓ©tit.

Technically wouldn't Chara be good above all else considering what you just said? Afterall they did kill the murderer of thousands of lives (albeit with the cost of the entire world's lives, but hey its those individuals you killed who're important, right?)

Chara on a Genocide path isn't good. Not when they choose to destroy the rest of reality with your help. Chara on a Neutral or Pacifist path may not exactly be evil either. We only have what people say about some kid who died x years before the player came into the picture. Memories can be colored by fondness, bitterness, or even uncertainty.

With how the story of the Fallen Child and the Prince has become something like a fairy tale it is possible that the events took place entire generations before the present day. To say nothing of how long it could had taken to build the Castle of Home and the City of Home, the town of Snowdin, the scattered homes in Waterfall, all the facilities in Hotlands, the hotel boarding Hotlands and the CORE, the CORE itself, and the city/castle of New Home. It's possible that there's even more places that we just don't happen to see. Places that Frisk may had passed while riding Riverperson's boat. We don't get to explore Home City or New Home City. We also know that Alphys was able to hide the survivors someplace out of the player/Frisk's reach.

Not to mention that the existence of Monsters was able to die down from Fact to History to Myth. The only thing we're told outside of the Monster history and the opening story is "Legends say that those who climb the mountain never return." There's too much we, the players, don't know about the events prior to the game.

Interesting, and yeah, that's pretty ironic.

Not an Undertale reference, no. Basically, there's a villain in my project who is more or less the head of a group of Satanists (not legit worshippers, more like conventional modern Satanists) and is basically a massive "Satan wannabe" of sorts, or at least is according to all the inside jokes we make, because he's not particularly subtle about the whole thing. Due to that, it's a common joke for us to assume he always greets people by putting his hands in a finger pyramid and saying "Greetings, my children." in a villainous voice.

Mate, I can't even get past Mettaton. I just know about things I read and watch lel

Wait, doesn't that mean there's a potential comic relief character?

So basically some schmuck who thinks Satan is cool and it's fun to troll the Christians?
I'm not sure which pose you're thinking of. This, or this?

I didn't take it as a joke. It's not that they are absolved of what the player did. But after a Genocide run they become just as bad as the player.

As for Mettaton, I cannot stand him. Outside of a Pacifist Timeline after fighting him, he tends to stay a horrible person and even gets worse if he's king.
Sometimes I feel King Mettaton ending is the worst of all possible endings.

I wouldn't exactly call him a "comic relief character" in the actual narrative, since the story is, as I've mentioned, very serious and is heavily rooted in my own experiences and world view (the reason I even have this group of villains in the story is because I more or less don't agree with modern Satanism at all and so I'm doing a social commentary against their ideology, as I do with pretty much every ideology I oppose), so I don't tend to portray it all in a comedic way, but admittedly he's definitely something of a joke character in all the OOC jokes me and my circle make.

I never told you about this detail, but there's also possibly (it's a big maybe) going to be a sort of OOC "omake series" added into the series as bonus material. If there's a place that all these inside jokes actually happen, that's where it would be, since the idea was to basically exaggerate everyone's traits.

@ModeGone
LOL, yep. You've got it exactly right. Pretty much exactly the examples I would've used. Gendo picture is pretty much perfect.

I hated the battle ironically because it was too gimmicky. Though I'm not one for bullet hells so I guess the game outside of story is not for me.

I had a bit of a mixed thing with the battle system. It was unusual for an RPG so I liked it for helping make it stand out. But I never played any bullet hells before so I tended to get hurt more often than not. A few scrolling Shooters, a few dodge attacks... but no bullet hells.
...
Wait that's a lie. I played a few levels of Bangai-O. I don't think it really counts but it can get a bit hectic at times.
The hardest fight I ever had was... um, aside from trying to dodge all of Photoshop Flowey's attacks, was Genocide Undyne. It's the second form of spinning-thrusting spears. They get me every time. I lost count how many times I died to her and her alone but it was around 94, 96?

First I forgot to bring this up before but both of the photos you showed look exactly the same. They might as well be twins it's so similar.

Now back on track. Yeah I haven't beaten the game once. I'm more into rpgs like Pokemon and Fire Emblem (Though admittedly I've only played Gaiden)

I've only got minor experience with bullet hell games because I basically only play ones that have an aesthetic I like. I actually find the genre enjoyable and I can play them, but I dislike games where you're using a spaceship or an airplane and much prefer it when you're using some type of anime-style character with magic powers who flies around, so I don't end up playing a lot of the conventional ones.

Touhou is a good example, though I prefer Castle Shikigami because I don't like using only female characters, plus I prefer less chibi of a look. I'll still play the games despite that though, similar to how I'll play a lot of "waifu" fighting games, despite preferring to use male characters, so long as the gameplay is good.

Considering how horrible both men kind of are...

There is a wide world of RPGs. Big name companies, second or third party devs, independents, indie freeware... J-style, West-style, Tactics, Action... The genre of the world; whether you have a large collection of possible party members, a small party, or just one character; any minigames, freedom of exploration, how linear the plot is...
I love the genre. But after a while sometimes it can be just 'bland' without some unique mechanic or element.

So less Ikaruga, more Touhou?

Not gonna lie, I haven't been able to finish a single Pokemon game since I last played Pokemon Alphasapphire when it came out. I keep trying to play Silver, but I end up quitting out of boredom. So I definitely agree it becomes bland.

Pretty much, yeah. Though like I mentioned in a previous post, Castle Shikigami is more my thing due to having a wider range of characters in terms of genders and abilities, and I usually prefer them not to use chibi art. I know it sounds crazy, but my attention to detail and reaction speeds make it very noticeable to me despite everything happening on the screen.

I'm more of a JRPG and TJRPG person myself. Most of my video game nostalgia comes from fighting games or those two kinds of RPG games. I'm also a big chess player, so any TJRPG will usually be more satisfying than a conventional JRPG in terms of gameplay, while I play more normal JRPGs mostly for the story since they're always too easy for me.

I don't even want to imagine Mr. Burns in anime form, or a Simpsons version of Gendo. At any rate, they were great picture choices for what I had in mind with that villain (Gendo more so, since he's usually calm and tries to pass himself off as charismatic and devious, so he's less prone to going overboard like Mr. Burns does, at least in public). He's technically based on the real life founder of modern Satanism, just for the record. I actually take the time to completely study an ideology before I form an opinion of it, unlike most people who just hate something without learning about it, so I know at least as much about the ideology as its followers do.

@NekoMizu
If we keep going this topic is going to end up longer than mine was.

Ah, that shows how old I am. I started out with Alex Kidd on the Sega Master System (keep in mind, I'm Australian, which means I got consoles a lot later than a lot of other countries). I played the SNES games Donkey Kong Country 1 and 2 as well. I've got plenty of experience and nostalgia with genres outside of the ones I mentioned, but I consider those I brought up earlier to be where my true nostalgia and memories are. Also, like I've mentioned, I don't play Nintendo consoles anymore, but Fire Emblem is the one franchise exclusive to them I've been wanting to try out.
